1 S ing, O barren, she hath not borne! Break forth with singing, and cry aloud, She hath not brought forth! For more the sons of the desolate, Than the sons of the married one, said Jehovah.

«Bucură-te, stearpo, tu, care nu poţi naşte! Izbucneşte în chiuituri şi strigă, tu, care nu eşti în durerile naşterii! Căci copiii femeii părăsite vor fi mai mulţi decât ai celei măritate, zice Domnul.

2 E nlarge the place of thy tent, And the curtains of thy tabernacles they stretch out, Restrain not -- lengthen thy cords, And thy pins make strong.

Lărgeşte locul cortului tău şi întinde învelitoarele locuinţelor tale! Nu te opri! Lungeşte-ţi corzile şi întăreşte-ţi ţăruşii!

3 F or right and left thou breakest forth, And thy seed doth nations possess,

Căci te vei întinde la dreapta şi la stânga, iar urmaşii tăi vor lua în stăpânire neamuri şi vor locui cetăţile pustiite.

4 A nd desolate cities they cause to be inhabited. Fear not, for thou art not ashamed, Nor blush, for thou art not confounded, For the shame of thy youth thou forgettest, And the reproach of thy widowhood Thou dost not remember any more.

Nu te teme, căci nu vei mai fi făcută de ruşine! Nu te ruşina, căci nu vei mai suferi dispreţul! Vei uita ruşinea tinereţii tale şi nu-ţi vei mai aminti de ocara văduviei tale.

5 F or thy Maker thy husband, Jehovah of Hosts His name, And thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel, `God of all the earth,' He is called.

Căci Cel Ce te-a făcut îţi este soţ – Domnul Oştirilor este Numele Său – şi Răscumpărătorul tău este Sfântul lui Israel – El este numit Dumnezeul întregului pământ.

6 F or, as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, Called thee hath Jehovah, Even a youthful wife when she is refused, said thy God.

Ca pe o soţie părăsită şi cu duhul mâhnit, aşa te-a chemat Domnul; ca pe o soţie alungată în tinereţe, zice Dumnezeul tău.

7 I n a small moment I have forsaken thee, And in great mercies I do gather thee,

Pentru o clipă te-am părăsit, dar te voi aduna cu multă îndurare.

8 I n overflowing wrath I hid my face a moment from thee, And in kindness age-during I have loved thee, Said thy Redeemer -- Jehovah!

Într-o izbucnire de mânie Mi-am ascuns faţa de tine pentru o clipă, dar cu o dragoste veşnică mă voi îndura de tine, zice Domnul, Răscumpărătorul tău.

9 F or, the waters of Noah this to Me, In that I have sworn -- the waters of Noah Do not pass again over the earth -- So I have sworn, Wrath is not upon thee, Nor rebuke against thee.

Pentru Mine aceasta va fi ca în zilele lui Noe, când am jurat că apele lui Noe nu vor mai inunda pământul; tot aşa am jurat şi acum că nu mă voi mai mânia pe tine şi nu te voi mai mustra.

10 F or the mountains depart, and the hills remove, And My kindness from thee departeth not, And the covenant of My peace removeth not, Said hath thy loving one -- Jehovah.

Pot să se mute munţii, pot să se clatine dealurile, dar dragostea Mea statornică nu se va îndepărta de la tine şi legământul Meu de pace nu se va clătina, zice Domnul, Cel Ce se îndură de tine.

11 O afflicted, storm-tossed, not comforted, Lo, I am laying with cement thy stones, And have founded thee with sapphires,

Nenorocito! Bătuto de furtună! Nemângâiato! Îţi voi reclădi pietrele în antimoniu şi-ţi voi pune temelii de safir.

12 A nd have made of agate thy pinnacles, And thy gates of carbuncle stones, And all thy border of stones of delight,

Îţi voi face meterezele din rubin, porţile din nestemate şi toate zidurile din pietre scumpe.

13 A nd all thy sons are taught of Jehovah, And abundant the peace of thy sons.

Toţi fiii tăi vor fi învăţaţi de Domnul şi mare va fi pacea fiilor tăi.

14 I n righteousness thou establishest thyself, Be far from oppression, for thou fearest not, And from ruin, for it cometh not near unto thee.

Vei fi întemeiată în dreptate, departe de tiranie, căci nu vei avea de ce să te temi; departe de teroare, căci aceasta nu se va mai apropia de tine.

15 L o, he doth diligently assemble without My desire, Who hath assembled near thee? By thee he falleth!

Dacă cineva va porni un război împotriva ta, nu va fi trimis de Mine; oricine porneşte un război împotriva ta va cădea din pricina ta.

16 L o, I -- I have prepared an artizan, Blowing on a fire of coals, And bringing out an instrument for his work, And I have prepared a destroyer to destroy.

Să ştii că Eu l-am creat pe fierarul care suflă în cărbunii aprinşi şi făureşte o armă potrivită pentru scopul ei; tot Eu l-am creat şi pe pustiitor să nimicească.

17 N o weapon formed against thee prospereth, And every tongue rising against thee, In judgment thou condemnest. This the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, And their righteousness from me, an affirmation of Jehovah!

Orice armă care este făurită împotriva ta va da greş şi pe orice limbă care se ridică să te judece o vei condamna. Aceasta este moştenirea robilor Domnului şi îndreptăţirea lor din partea Mea, zice Domnul.
