1 A nd it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the house of Jehovah, and his own house.

La sfârşitul celor douăzeci de ani, timp în care Solomon zidise Casa Domnului şi palatul său,

2 A s to the cities that Huram hath given to Solomon, Solomon hath built them, and there he causeth the sons of Israel to dwell.

Solomon s-a apucat să rezidească cetăţile pe care i le-a dat Hiram şi să-i aşeze acolo pe israeliţi.

3 A nd Solomon goeth to Hamath-Zobah, and layeth hold upon it;

Solomon s-a dus la Hamat-Ţoba şi a cucerit cetatea.

4 a nd he buildeth Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the cities of store that he hath built in Hamath.

A rezidit Tadmorul în pustie şi toate cetăţile pentru provizii pe care le zidise în Hamat.

5 A nd he buildeth Beth-Horon the upper, and Beth-Horon the lower -- cities of defence, with walls, two-leaved doors, and bar --

A rezidit Bet-Horonul de Sus şi Bet-Horonul de Jos, ca cetăţi fortificate cu ziduri, porţi şi zăvoare,

6 a nd Baalath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

Baalatul, precum şi toate cetăţile pentru provizii pe care Solomon le avea, împreună cu toate cetăţile pentru care şi cetăţile pentru cavalerie şi tot ceea ce şi-a dorit Solomon să zidească în Ierusalim, în Liban şi în toată ţara aflată sub stăpânirea sa.

7 A ll the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel --

Iar pe toţi cei ce au mai rămas dintre hitiţi, amoriţi, periziţi, hiviţi, iebusiţi, – cei ce nu făceau parte din Israel, –

8 o f their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel consumed not -- doth Solomon lift up a tribute unto this day.

adică dintre urmaşii acestora, care rămăseseră în ţară şi pe care israeliţii nu i-au nimicit, Solomon i-a folosit la muncă forţată şi aşa au rămas până astăzi.

9 A nd none of the sons of Israel hath Solomon made servants for his work, but they men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;

Dar Solomon nu i-a folosit pe israeliţi ca sclavi la lucrarea sa, căci aceştia îi slujeau ca ostaşi, căpetenii şi conducători de care şi de cavalerie.

10 a nd these heads of the officers whom king Solomon hath, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.

Căpeteniile aflate în slujba regelui Solomon, puse să supravegheze poporul, erau în număr de două sute cincizeci.

11 A nd the daughter of Pharaoh hath Solomon brought up from the city of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, `My wife doth not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy unto whom hath come the ark of Jehovah.'

Solomon a dus-o pe fiica lui Faraon din Cetatea lui David, în palatul pe care îl zidise pentru ea, căci zisese: „Să nu locuiască soţia mea în palatul lui David, regele lui Israel, pentru că locurile în care a intrat Chivotul Domnului sunt sfinte!“

12 T hen hath Solomon caused to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah that he built before the porch,

Solomon aducea arderi de tot Domnului pe altarul Domnului, zidit în faţa porticului,

13 e ven by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed seasons, three times in a year -- in the feast of unleavened things, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths.

potrivit cu reglementările zilnice pentru jertfe, care fuseseră poruncite de Moise să fie aduse cu ocazia Sabatului, a lunii noi şi a celor trei sărbători anuale: Sărbătoarea Azimelor, Sărbătoarea Săptămânilor şi Sărbătoarea Corturilor.

14 A nd he establisheth, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister over-against the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their courses at gate and gate, for so the command of David the man of God.

Tot el a pus în slujbă, după hotărârea tatălui său, David, cetele preoţilor, potrivit slujbei lor, pe leviţi, potrivit responsabilităţilor lor de a lăuda pe Domnul şi de a sluji în prezenţa preoţilor după nevoile zilnice şi pe portari, potrivit cetelor lor, la fiecare poartă, întocmai cum poruncise David, omul lui Dumnezeu.

15 A nd they have not turned aside the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.

Nu s-au abătut în nici un fel de la porunca regelui cu privire la preoţi, la leviţi şi la vistierii.

16 A nd all the work of Solomon is prepared till the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and till its completion; perfect is the house of Jehovah.

Astfel a fost înfăptuită întreaga lucrare a lui Solomon, din ziua când s-a pus temelia Casei Domnului şi până în ziua când Casa Domnului a fost în totalitate isprăvită.

17 T hen hath Solomon gone to Ezion-Geber, and unto Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;

Atunci Solomon s-a dus la Eţion-Gheber şi Elat, pe ţărmul mării, în ţara Edomului.

18 a nd Huram sendeth to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and bring in unto king Solomon.

Hiram i-a trimis, prin slujitorii săi, corăbii şi slujitori care cunoşteau marea, iar aceştia s-au dus în Ofir împreună cu slujitorii lui Solomon şi au luat de acolo patru sute cincizeci de talanţi de aur, pe care i-au adus apoi regelui Solomon.
