1 A nd Joshua is old, entering into days, and Jehovah saith unto him, `Thou hast become aged, thou hast entered into days; as to the land, very much hath been left to possess.

Iosua îmbătrânise şi era înaintat în vârstă. Atunci Domnul i-a vorbit astfel: „Tu eşti bătrân şi înaintat în vârstă, iar teritoriul care nu a fost luat în stăpânire este foarte mare.

2 ` This the land that is left; all the circuits of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

Iată teritoriul care a rămas necucerit: toate ţinuturile filistenilor şi ale gheşuriţilor

3 f rom Sihor which on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.

(de la râul Şihor, care este în faţa Egiptului, până la hotarul Ekronului, înspre nord, teritoriu care este considerat canaanit şi care este al celor cinci domnitori filisteni: din Gaza, din Aşdod, din Aşchelon, din Gat şi din Ekron), precum şi ale aviţilor,

4 ` From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;

înspre sud. De asemenea, toate ţinuturile canaaniţilor, de la Meara sidonienilor, până la Afek, spre hotarul cu amoriţii,

5 a nd the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath:

apoi ţinutul ghebaliţilor şi întregul Liban înspre răsărit, de la Baal-Gad până la poalele muntelui Hermon şi până la Lebo-Hamat

6 a ll the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians: I -- I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

cu toţi locuitorii regiunii muntoase din Liban până la Misrefot-Maim, adică toţi sidonienii. Eu îi voi izgoni dinaintea israeliţilor. Tu însă împarte acest teritoriu ca moştenire lui Israel, aşa cum ţi-am poruncit.

7 ` And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' --

Împarte deci ţara ca moştenire celor nouă seminţii şi jumătăţii din seminţia lui Manase.“ Teritoriul împărţit în Transiordania

8 w ith it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses hath given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Jehovah hath given to them;

Cealaltă jumătate din seminţia lui Manase împreună cu rubeniţii şi gadiţii îşi primiseră moştenirea pe care le-a dat-o Moise la răsărit de Iordan, întocmai cum le-o împărţise Moise, robul Domnului:

9 f rom Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon,

de la Aroer, care se află pe malul uedului Arnon şi de la cetatea din mijlocul văii, întregul podiş al Medebei, până la Dibon,

10 a nd all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon,

toate cetăţile lui Sihon, regele amoriţilor, care domnea la Heşbon, până la hotarul amoniţilor,

11 a nd Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

Ghiladul, teritoriul gheşurit şi maacatit, tot muntele Hermon şi tot Başanul până la Salca,

12 a ll the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses doth smite them, and dispossess them;

întregul regat al lui Og în Başan, care domnea la Aştarot şi la Edrei şi care era singurul rămas dintre refaiţi. Moise i-a învins şi le-a ocupat ţara.

13 a nd the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.

Dar israeliţii nu i-au izgonit pe gheşuriţii şi pe maacatiţii din Gheşur şi din Maaca, astfel că ei au locuit în mijlocul lui Israel până în ziua de azi.

14 O nly, to the tribe of Levi he hath not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Jehovah, God of Israel, is its inheritance, as He hath spoken to it.

Seminţia lui Levi nu a primit însă nici o moştenire, deoarece El îi spusese că jertfele mistuite de foc aduse Domnului, Dumnezeul lui Israel, sunt moştenirea ei.

15 A nd Moses giveth to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;

Moise dăduse seminţiei rubeniţilor, potrivit clanurilor lor,

16 a nd the border is to them from Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba,

teritoriul de la Aroer, care este pe malul uedului Arnon şi de la cetatea din mijlocul văii, întregul podiş de lângă Medeba,

17 H eshbon, and all its cities which in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,

Heşbonul cu toate cetăţile dimprejurul lui din câmpie, Dibon, Bamot-Baal, Bet-Baal-Meon,

18 a nd Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

Iahaţ, Chedemot, Mefaat,

19 a nd Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley,

Chiriatayim, Sibma, Ţeret-Şahar, în muntele Emek,

20 a nd Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth,

Bet-Peor, poalele muntelui Pisga, Bet-Ieşimot,

21 a nd all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

toate cetăţile podişului, adică întregul regat al lui Sihon, regele amoriţilor, care domnea la Heşbon şi care fusese învins de Moise, împreună cu regii Midianului: Evi, Rechem, Ţur, Hur şi Reba, vasalii lui Sihon, care locuiau în ţară.

22 A nd Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.

Printre cei care fuseseră ucişi cu sabia de israeliţi se afla şi prezicătorul Balaam, fiul lui Beor.

23 A nd the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and border; this the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.

Hotarul teritoriului rubeniţilor era Iordanul. Cetăţile şi satele acestea erau moştenirea urmaşilor lui Ruben, potrivit clanurilor lor.

24 A nd Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;

Moise dăduse seminţiei lui Gad, adică urmaşilor lui Gad, potrivit clanurilor lor,

25 a nd the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which on the front of Rabbah,

un teritoriu care cuprindea Iazerul, toate cetăţile Ghiladului, o jumătate din teritoriul amoniţilor până la Aroer, care este faţă în faţă cu Raba,

26 a nd from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,

de la Heşbon până la Ramat-Miţpa şi Betonim şi de la Mahanayim până la hotarul Debirului,

27 a nd in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.

iar în vale, Bet-Haram, Bet-Nimra, Sucot şi Ţafon, partea care a mai rămas din teritoriul regelui Sihon al Heşbonului, teritoriu care se află în partea de răsărit a Iordanului, având ca hotar Iordanul până la marginea mării Chineret.

28 T his the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.

Cetăţile şi satele acestea erau moştenirea urmaşilor lui Gad, potrivit clanurilor lor.

29 A nd Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.

Moise dăduse jumătăţii seminţiei lui Manase, adică unei jumătăţi dintre urmaşii lui Manase, potrivit clanurilor lor,

30 A nd their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which in Bashan, sixty cities;

un teritoriu care cuprindea Mahanayimul, întregul Başan, întregul regat al regelui Og al Başanului, şi toate aşezările lui Iair din Başan – şaizeci de cetăţi.

31 a nd the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.

Jumătate din Ghilad, Aştarot şi Edrei, cetăţi ale regatului lui Og din Başan, fuseseră date urmaşilor lui Machir, fiul lui Manase, adică unei jumătăţi dintre urmaşii lui Machir, potrivit clanurilor lor.

32 T hese they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, Jericho, eastward;

Acestea sunt teritoriile pe care le dăduse Moise ca moştenire, când era în câmpiile Moabului, de cealaltă parte a Iordanului, la răsărit de Ierihon.

33 a nd to the tribe of Levi Moses gave not an inheritance; Jehovah, God of Israel, Himself their inheritance, as He hath spoken to them.

Moise nu a dat însă nici o moştenire seminţiei lui Levi; Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel, este moştenirea lor, căci aşa le-a spus El.
