1 A nd the lot for the sons of Joseph goeth out from Jordan Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,

Teritoriul urmaşilor lui Iosif pornea de la Iordan, din dreptul Ierihonului, către apele Ierihonului, în partea de răsărit şi urca prin pustie, de la Ierihon către regiunea muntoasă a Betelului.

2 a nd hath gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over unto the border of Archi Ataroth,

Apoi pornea de la Betel (adică Luz), traversa către teritoriul archit prin Atarot

3 a nd gone down westward unto the border of Japhleti, unto the border of Beth-Horon the lower, and unto Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

şi cobora înspre apus, către teritoriul iafletiţilor, până la Bet-Horonul de Jos şi până la Ghezer, atingând în final ţărmul mării.

4 A nd the sons of Joseph -- Manasseh and Ephraim -- inherit.

Acolo şi-au primit moştenirea urmaşii lui Iosif – Manase şi Efraim.

5 A nd the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar unto Beth-Horon the upper;

Iată care era teritoriul urmaşilor lui Efraim, potrivit clanurilor lor: hotarul moştenirii lor dinspre răsărit pornea de la Atarot-Adar, urca până la Bet-Horon

6 a nd the border hath gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border hath gone round eastward Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,

şi atingea ţărmul mării. Din Micmetat, în nord, se întorcea către răsărit, înspre Taanat-Şilo, traversând Ianoah în partea de răsărit.

7 a nd gone down from Janohah Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.

Din Ianoah cobora la Atarot şi Naarata, atingând Ierihonul şi ajungând la Iordan.

8 F rom Tappuah the border goeth westward unto the brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.

Din Tapuah mergea către apus înspre uedul Kana şi atingea ţărmul mării. Aceasta era moştenirea seminţiei efraimiţilor, potrivit clanurilor lor.

9 A nd the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;

Efraimiţii mai aveau şi un număr de cetăţi în teritoriul urmaşilor lui Manase, fiecare cetate având satele dimprejurul ei.

10 a nd they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwelleth in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and is to tribute -- a servant.

Ei nu i-au izgonit însă pe canaaniţii care locuiau la Ghezer şi, prin urmare, canaaniţii au locuit printre efraimiţi până în ziua aceasta, fiind puşi la muncă forţată.
