1 A nd the lot for the sons of Joseph goeth out from Jordan Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,

La parte assegnata in sorte ai figli di Giuseppe si estendeva dal Giordano presso Gerico, verso le acque di Gerico a est, fino al deserto che sale da Gerico a Bethel per la regione montuosa.

2 a nd hath gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over unto the border of Archi Ataroth,

Il confine continuava poi da Bethel a Luz e passava per la frontiera degli Arkei ad Ataroth,

3 a nd gone down westward unto the border of Japhleti, unto the border of Beth-Horon the lower, and unto Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

scendeva a ovest verso il confine dei Jafletei fino al confine di Beth-Horon inferiore e fino a Ghezer, per finire quindi sul mare.

4 A nd the sons of Joseph -- Manasseh and Ephraim -- inherit.

Così i figli di Giuseppe, Manasse ed Efraim, ebbero ciascuno la loro eredità.

5 A nd the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar unto Beth-Horon the upper;

Questi furono i confini dei figli di Efraim, secondo le loro famiglie. Il confine della loro eredità, a est, era Atroth, fino a Beth-Horon superiore;

6 a nd the border hath gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border hath gone round eastward Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,

7 a nd gone down from Janohah Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.

8 F rom Tappuah the border goeth westward unto the brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.

9 A nd the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;

10 a nd they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwelleth in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and is to tribute -- a servant.

Ma essi non scacciarono i Cananei che abitavano a Ghezer; così i Cananei hanno dimorato in mezio a Efraim fino al giorno d'oggi, ma sono stati soggetti a servitú.
