1 A nd I, brethren, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly -- as to babes in Christ;

Or io, fratelli, non ho potuto parlare a voi come a uomini spirituali, ma vi ho parlato come a dei carnali, come a bambini in Cristo.

2 w ith milk I fed you, and not with meat, for ye were not yet able, but not even yet are ye now able,

Vi ho dato da bere del latte, e non vi ho dato del cibo solido, perché non eravate in grado di assimilarlo, anzi non lo siete neppure ora, perché siete ancora carnali.

3 f or yet ye are fleshly, for where among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not fleshly, and in the manner of men do walk?

Infatti, poiché fra voi vi è invidia, dispute e divisioni, non siete voi carnali e non camminate secondo l'uomo?

4 f or when one may say, `I, indeed, am of Paul;' and another, `I -- of Apollos;' are ye not fleshly?

Quando uno dice: «Io sono di Paolo», e un altro: «Io sono di Apollo», non siete voi carnali?

5 W ho, then, is Paul, and who Apollos, but ministrants through whom ye did believe, and to each as the Lord gave?

Chi è dunque Paolo e chi è Apollo, se non ministri per mezzo dei quali voi avete creduto, e ciò secondo che il Signore ha dato a ciascuno?

6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was giving growth;

Io ho piantato, Apollo ha annaffiato, ma Dio ha fatto crescere.

7 s o that neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is watering, but He who is giving growth -- God;

Ora né chi pianta né chi annaffia è cosa alcuna, ma è Dio che fa crescere.

8 a nd he who is planting and he who is watering are one, and each his own reward shall receive, according to his own labour,

Cosí colui che pianta e colui che annaffia sono una medesima cosa, ma ciascuno riceverà il proprio premio a secondo la sua fatica.

9 f or of God we are fellow-workmen; God's tillage, God's building ye are.

Noi siamo infatti collaboratori di Dio; voi siete il campo di Dio, l'edificio di Dio.

10 A ccording to the grace of God that was given to me, as a wise master-builder, a foundation I have laid, and another doth build on,

Secondo la grazia di Dio che mi è stata data, come savio architetto io ho posto il fondamento, ed altri vi costruisce sopra; ora ciascuno stia attento come vi costruisce sopra

11 f or other foundation no one is able to lay except that which is laid, which is Jesus the Christ;

perché nessuno può porre altro fondamento diverso da quello che è stato posto, cioè Gesú Cristo.

12 a nd if any one doth build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw --

Ora, se uno costruisce sopra questo fondamento con oro, argento, pietre preziose, legno, fieno, stoppia,

13 o f each the work shall become manifest, for the day shall declare, because in fire it is revealed, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire shall prove;

l'opera di ciascuno sarà manifestata, perché il giorno la paleserà; poiché sarà manifestata mediante il fuoco, e il fuoco proverà quale sia l'opera di ciascuno.

14 i f of any one the work doth remain that he built on, a wage he shall receive;

Se l'opera che uno ha edificato sul fondamento resiste, egli ne riceverà una ricompensa,

15 i f of any the work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; and himself shall be saved, but so as through fire.

ma se la sua opera è arsa, egli ne subirà la perdita, nondimeno sarà salvato, ma come attraverso il fuoco.

16 h ave ye not known that ye are a sanctuary of God, and the Spirit of God doth dwell in you?

Non sapete voi che siete il tempio di Dio e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?

17 i f any one the sanctuary of God doth waste, him shall God waste; for the sanctuary of God is holy, the which ye are.

Se alcuno guasta il tempio di Dio, Dio guasterà lui, perché il tempio di Dio, che siete voi, è santo.

18 L et no one deceive himself; if any one doth seem to be wise among you in this age -- let him become a fool, that he may become wise,

Nessuno inganni se stesso, se qualcuno fra voi pensa di essere savio in questa età, diventi stolto affinché possa diventare savio.

19 f or the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it hath been written, `Who is taking the wise in their craftiness;'

Infatti la sapienza di questo mondo è follia presso Dio, poiché sta scritto: «Egli è colui che prende i savi nella loro astuzia»;

20 a nd again, `The Lord doth know the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain.'

e altrove: «Il Signore conosce i pensieri dei savi e sa che sono vani».

21 S o then, let no one glory in men, for all things are yours,

Perciò nessuno si glori negli uomini, perché ogni cosa è vostra:

22 w hether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things about to be -- all are yours,

Paolo, Apollo, Cefa, il mondo, la vita, la morte, le cose presenti e le cose future; tutte le cose sono vostre.

23 a nd ye Christ's, and Christ God's.

E voi siete di Cristo e Cristo è di Dio.
