Abbi pietà di me, o Eterno; perché sono sfinito dal male; guariscimi, O Eterno, perché le mie ossa sono afflitte;

3 A nd my soul hath been troubled greatly, And Thou, O Jehovah, till when?

Anche la mia anima è grandemente afflitta; e tu, o Eterno, fino a quando?

4 T urn back, O Jehovah, draw out my soul, Save me for Thy kindness' sake.

Volgiti a me, o Eterno libera l'anima mia; salvami, per amore della tua benignità.

5 F or there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee?

Poiché nella morte non c'è memoria di te; chi ti celebrerà nello Sceol?

6 I have been weary with my sighing, I meditate through all the night my bed, With my tear my couch I waste.

7 O ld from provocation is mine eye, It is old because of all mine adversaries,

8 T urn from me all ye workers of iniquity, For Jehovah heard the voice of my weeping,

Allontanatevi da me, voi tutti operatori d'iniquità, perché l'Eterno ha dato ascolto alla voce del mio pianto.

9 J ehovah hath heard my supplication, Jehovah my prayer receiveth.

L'Eterno ha dato ascolto alla mia supplica; l'Eterno accoglie la mia preghiera.

10 A shamed and troubled greatly are all mine enemies, They turn back -- ashamed a moment!

Tutti i miei nemici saranno confusi e grandemente smarriti; essi volteranno le spalle e saranno confusi in un momento.
