1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

2 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, A woman when she giveth seed, and hath born a male, then she hath been unclean seven days, according to the days of separation for her sickness she is unclean;

„Spune-le israeliţilor: «Când o femeie rămâne însărcinată şi naşte un băiat, să fie considerată necurată timp de şapte zile; să fie necurată, la fel ca în zilele necurăţiei ei.

3 a nd in the eighth day is the flesh of his foreskin circumcised;

În cea de-a opta zi băiatul să fie circumcis.

4 a nd thirty and three days she doth abide in the blood of her cleansing; against any holy thing she doth not come, and unto the sanctuary she doth not go in, till the fulness of the days of her cleansing.

Femeia va mai rămâne încă treizeci şi trei de zile, ca să se cureţe de sângele ei; să nu atingă vreun lucru sfânt, nici să nu vină în Lăcaş până nu se împlinesc zilele curăţirii ei.

5 ` And if a female she bear, then she hath been unclean two weeks, as in her separation; and sixty and six days she doth abide for the blood of her cleansing.

Dacă naşte o fetiţă, femeia să fie considerată necurată timp de două săptămâni, ca în zilele necurăţiei ei; ea va mai rămâne încă şaizeci şi şase de zile, ca să se cureţe de sângele ei.

6 ` And in the fulness of the days of her cleansing for son or for daughter she doth bring in a lamb, a son of a year, for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon or a turtle-dove for a sin-offering, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, unto the priest;

Când se vor împlini zilele curăţirii ei, pentru un băiat sau o fată, va trebui să aducă preotului, la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii, un miel de un an pentru arderea de tot şi un pui de porumbel sau o turturea pentru jertfa pentru păcat.

7 a nd he hath brought it near before Jehovah, and hath made atonement for her, and she hath been cleansed from the fountain of her blood; this the law of her who is bearing, in regard to a male or to a female.

Preotul să-l jertfească înaintea Domnului şi să facă ispăşire pentru ea; astfel ea va fi curăţită de curgerea sângelui ei. Aceasta este legea pentru femeia care va da naştere unui băiat sau unei fetiţe.

8 ` And if her hand find not the sufficiency of a sheep, then she hath taken two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, one for a burnt-offering, and one for a sin-offering, and the priest hath made atonement for her, and she hath been cleansed.'

Dacă nu poate aduce un miel, să aducă două turturele sau doi pui de porumbei ca jertfă pentru păcat, iar preotul să facă ispăşire pentru ea; astfel ea va fi curată.»“
