1 J udge me, O God, And plead my cause against a nation not pious, From a man of deceit and perverseness Thou dost deliver me,

Fă-mi dreptate, Dumnezeule, apără-mi pricina în faţa unui neam necredincios! Scapă-mă de omul înşelător şi nedrept!

2 F or thou the God of my strength. Why hast Thou cast me off? Why mourning do I go up and down, In the oppression of an enemy?

Tu eşti Dumnezeu, eşti adăpostul meu! De ce mă alungi? De ce trebuie să umblu întristat, asuprit de duşman?

3 S end forth Thy light and Thy truth, They -- they lead me, they bring me in, Unto Thy holy hill, and unto Thy tabernacles.

Trimite-Ţi lumina şi adevărul, ca să mă călăuzească, să mă conducă la muntele Tău cel sfânt şi la locuinţa Ta!

4 A nd I go in unto the altar of God, Unto God, the joy of my rejoicing. And I thank Thee with a harp, O God, my God.

Să ajung la altarul lui Dumnezeu, la Dumnezeul nespusei mele bucurii! Te voi lăuda din liră, Dumnezeule, Dumnezeul meu!

5 W hat! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? And what! art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him, The salvation of my countenance, and my God!

Suflete al meu, de ce te mâhneşti, şi de ce gemi înăuntrul meu? Nădăjduieşte în Dumnezeu, căci din nou Îl voi lăuda, pe El, Mântuitorul meu şi Dumnezeul meu!
