1 A nd they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gadarenes,

Au ajuns de cealaltă parte a mării, în ţinutul gherasenilor.

2 a nd he having come forth out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

Când a coborât Isus din barcă, L-a întâlnit imediat un om care ieşea din morminte şi care era stăpânit de un duh necurat.

3 w ho had his dwelling in the tombs, and not even with chains was any one able to bind him,

Omul acesta îşi avea locuinţa în morminte şi nimeni nu mai putea să-l ţină legat nici chiar cu un lanţ.

4 b ecause that he many times with fetters and chains had been bound, and pulled in pieces by him had been the chains, and the fetters broken in pieces, and none was able to tame him,

Fusese de multe ori legat cu lanţuri şi cu cătuşe, dar rupsese lanţurile şi sfărâmase cătuşele şi nimeni nu-l putea stăpâni.

5 a nd always, night and day, in the mountains, and in the tombs he was, crying and cutting himself with stones.

Toată noaptea şi toată ziua era prin morminte sau prin munţi, urlând şi tăindu-se cu pietre.

6 A nd, having seen Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed before him,

Când L-a văzut pe Isus de departe, a alergat, I s-a închinat

7 a nd having called with a loud voice, he said, `What -- to me and to thee, Jesus, Son of God the Most High? I adjure thee by God, mayest thou not afflict me!'

şi a strigat cu glas tare: – Ce am eu de-a face cu Tine, Isuse, Fiu al Dumnezeului cel Preaînalt? Jură-mi pe Dumnezeu că nu mă vei chinui!

8 ( for he said to him, `Come forth, spirit unclean, out of the man,')

Căci Isus îi zicea: „Duh necurat, ieşi afară din acest om!“

9 a nd he was questioning him, `What thy name?' and he answered, saying, `Legion my name, because we are many;'

Isus l-a întrebat: – Care-ţi este numele? – Numele meu este „Legiune“, pentru că suntem mulţi, I-a răspuns el.

10 a nd he was calling on him much, that he may not send them out of the region.

Şi Îl ruga mult pe Isus să nu-l trimită afară din ţinutul acela.

11 A nd there was there, near the mountains, a great herd of swine feeding,

Acolo, pe munte, era o turmă mare de porci care păşteau.

12 a nd all the demons did call upon him, saying, `Send us to the swine, that into them we may enter;'

Duhurile necurate L-au rugat pe Isus: – Trimite-ne în porcii aceia, ca să intrăm în ei!

13 a nd immediately Jesus gave them leave, and having come forth, the unclean spirits did enter into the swine, and the herd did rush down the steep place to the sea -- and they were about two thousand -- and they were choked in the sea.

Şi El le-a dat voie. Duhurile necurate au ieşit din om şi au intrat în porci. Atunci turma, în jur de două mii de porci, s-a repezit pe râpă în jos, în mare, şi s-a înecat în mare.

14 A nd those feeding the swine did flee, and told in the city, and in the fields, and they came forth to see what it is that hath been done;

Porcarii au fugit şi au dat de ştire în cetate şi în cătune. Şi oamenii au venit să vadă ce s-a întâmplat.

15 a nd they come unto Jesus, and see the demoniac, sitting, and clothed, and right-minded -- him having had the legion -- and they were afraid;

Când au ajuns la Isus şi l-au văzut pe cel care fusese demoniac şi avusese în el legiunea de duhuri necurate, stând jos, îmbrăcat şi cu mintea întreagă, s-au înspăimântat.

16 a nd those having seen, declared to them how it had come to pass to the demoniac, and about the swine;

Cei ce văzuseră ce s-a întâmplat cu cel demoniac şi cu porcii le-au povestit totul.

17 a nd they began to call upon him to go away from their borders.

Atunci ei au început să-L roage pe Isus să plece din regiunea lor.

18 A nd he having gone into the boat, the demoniac was calling on him that he may be with him,

În timp ce Isus se suia în barcă, cel ce fusese demoniac Îl ruga să-l lase să rămână cu El,

19 a nd Jesus did not suffer him, but saith to him, `Go away to thy house, unto thine own, and tell them how great things the Lord did to thee, and dealt kindly with thee;

dar Isus nu l-a lăsat, ci i-a zis: „Du-te acasă, la ai tăi, şi povesteşte-le cât de mult a făcut Domnul pentru tine şi cum a avut milă de tine!“

20 a nd he went away, and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus did to him, and all were wondering.

El a plecat şi a început să vestească prin Decapolis cât de mult făcuse Isus pentru el. Şi toţi se minunau. Vindecarea unei femei şi învierea unei fetiţe

21 A nd Jesus having passed over in the boat again to the other side, there was gathered a great multitude to him, and he was near the sea,

Isus a traversat iarăşi marea (cu barca). Apoi, în timp ce era pe malul mării, s-a adunat la El o mare mulţime de oameni.

22 a nd lo, there doth come one of the chiefs of the synagogue, by name Jairus, and having seen him, he doth fall at his feet,

A venit la El unul dintre conducătorii sinagogii, pe nume Iair. Când L-a văzut, a căzut la picioarele Lui

23 a nd he was calling upon him much, saying -- `My little daughter is at the last extremity -- that having come, thou mayest lay on her hands, so that she may be saved, and she shall live;'

şi L-a rugat fierbinte: „Fetiţa mea este pe moarte. Vino şi pune-Ţi mâinile peste ea ca să fie vindecată şi să trăiască!“

24 a nd he went away with him. And there was following him a great multitude, and they were thronging him,

Isus a plecat împreună cu el. O mare mulţime de oameni Îl urma şi se îmbulzea în El.

25 a nd a certain woman, having an issue of blood twelve years,

Acolo era o femeie care, de doisprezece ani, avea o scurgere de sânge.

26 a nd many things having suffered under many physicians, and having spent all that she had, and having profited nothing, but rather having come to the worse,

Ea îndurase multe din partea multor doctori şi cheltuise tot ce avusese fără vreun folos, ba dimpotrivă, se îmbolnăvise mai rău.

27 h aving heard about Jesus, having come in the multitude behind, she touched his garment,

Auzind despre Isus, a venit în mulţime, prin spate, şi s-a atins de haina Lui.

28 f or she said -- `If even his garments I may touch, I shall be saved;'

Căci îşi zicea: „Dacă aş putea să mă ating măcar de haina Lui, voi fi vindecată!“

29 a nd immediately was the fountain of her blood dried up, and she knew in the body that she hath been healed of the plague.

Imediat izvorul sângelui ei a secat şi ea a simţit în trup că fusese vindecată de boala ei.

30 A nd immediately Jesus having known in himself that out of him power had gone forth, having turned about in the multitude, said, `Who did touch my garments?'

Isus şi-a dat seama imediat că din El ieşise o putere şi, întorcându-Se spre mulţime, a întrebat: – Cine s-a atins de hainele Mele?

31 a nd his disciples said to him, `Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and thou sayest, `Who did touch me!'

Ucenicii I-au zis: – Vezi că mulţimea se îmbulzeşte în Tine şi mai întrebi: „Cine M-a atins?“

32 A nd he was looking round to see her who did this,

El însă se uita de jur-împrejur ca s-o vadă pe cea care făcuse lucrul acesta.

33 a nd the woman, having been afraid, and trembling, knowing what was done on her, came, and fell down before him, and told him all the truth,

Atunci femeia, ştiind ce i se întâmplase, a venit înfricoşată şi tremurând, şi a căzut înaintea Lui, spunându-I tot adevărul.

34 a nd he said to her, `Daughter, thy faith hath saved thee; go away in peace, and be whole from thy plague.'

Isus i-a zis: „Fiică, credinţa ta te-a vindecat! Du-te în pace şi fii vindecată de boala ta!“

35 A s he is yet speaking, there come from the chief of the synagogue's, saying -- `Thy daughter did die, why still dost thou harass the Teacher?'

În timp ce El vorbea, au venit câţiva din casa conducătorului sinagogii şi i-au zis acestuia: „Fiica ta este moartă. De ce-L mai deranjezi pe Învăţător?“

36 A nd Jesus immediately, having heard the word that is spoken, saith to the chief of the synagogue, `Be not afraid, only believe.'

Însă Isus, fără să ia în seamă cuvintele lor, i-a zis conducătorului sinagogii: „Nu te teme! Crede doar!“

37 A nd he did not suffer any one to follow with him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James;

N-a dat voie nimănui să-L însoţească în afară de Petru, Iacov şi Ioan, fratele lui Iacov.

38 a nd he cometh to the house of the chief of the synagogue, and seeth a tumult, much weeping and wailing;

Când au ajuns ei la casa conducătorului sinagogii, Isus a văzut acolo multă larmă şi pe cei ce plângeau şi boceau zgomotos.

39 a nd having gone in he saith to them, `Why do ye make a tumult, and weep? the child did not die, but doth sleep;

El a intrat şi le-a zis: „De ce faceţi atâta larmă şi plângeţi? Copilul nu este mort, ci doarme!“

40 a nd they were laughing at him. And he, having put all forth, doth take the father of the child, and the mother, and those with him, and goeth in where the child is lying,

Ei însă râdeau de El. Isus i-a scos pe toţi afară, i-a luat pe tatăl copilului, pe mama acestuia şi pe cei ce erau cu El şi a intrat acolo unde era copilul.

41 a nd, having taken the hand of the child, he saith to her, `Talitha cumi;' which is, being interpreted, `Damsel (I say to thee), arise.'

A apucat copilul de mână şi i-a zis: „ Talita kum!“, care tradus înseamnă: „Fetiţo, ţie îţi zic, scoală-te!“

42 A nd immediately the damsel arose, and was walking, for she was twelve years; and they were amazed with a great amazement,

Fetiţa s-a ridicat imediat şi a început să meargă; ea era în vârstă de doisprezece ani. Atunci ei au înmărmurit de tot.

43 a nd he charged them much, that no one may know this thing, and he said that there be given to her to eat.

Isus le-a poruncit insistent ca nimeni să nu ştie despre aceasta şi le-a spus să-i dea fetiţei ceva să mănânce.
