1 T he word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

Iată Cuvântul care a venit la Ieremia din partea Domnului:

2 ` Thus spake Jehovah, God of Israel, saying, Write for thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee on a book.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel: «Scrie într-un sul toate cuvintele pe care ţi le-am spus.

3 F or, lo, days are coming -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- and I have turned back the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, said Jehovah, and I have caused them to turn back unto the land that I gave to their fathers, and they do possess it.'

Căci iată, vin zile, zice Domnul, când îi voi aduce înapoi pe captivii poporului Meu, Israel şi Iuda. Îi voi aduce înapoi în ţara pe care le-am dat-o strămoşilor lor şi o vor stăpâni.»“

4 A nd these the words that Jehovah hath spoken concerning Israel and concerning Judah:

Acestea sunt cuvintele pe care Domnul le-a rostit cu privire la Israel şi Iuda:

5 S urely thus said Jehovah: A voice of trembling we have heard, Fear -- and there is no peace.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Se aud strigăte de teamă, de spaimă şi nu de pace.

6 A sk, I pray you, and see, is a male bringing forth? Wherefore have I seen every man, His hands on his loins, as a travailing woman, And all faces have been turned to paleness?

Întrebaţi şi luaţi aminte! Poate un bărbat să nască? Atunci de ce-i văd pe toţi bărbaţii cu mâinile pe coapse, ca o femeie în durerile naşterii? De ce au pălit?

7 W o! for great that day, without any like it, Yea, a time of adversity it to Jacob, Yet out of it he is saved.

Vai, ce îngrozitoare va fi ziua aceea! N-a mai fost niciodată vreuna ca ea! Va fi o vreme de necaz pentru Iacov, dar Iacov va fi izbăvit din ea.

8 A nd it hath come to pass, in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, I break his yoke from off thy neck, And thy bands I draw away, And lay no more service on him do strangers.

În ziua aceea, zice Domnul Oştirilor, voi sfărâma jugul de pe gâtul lor, le voi rupe legăturile şi străinii nu îi vor mai înrobi.

9 A nd they have served Jehovah their God, And David their king whom I raise up to them.

În schimb, vor sluji Domnului, Dumnezeul lor, şi împăratului lor David, pe care li-l voi ridica.

10 A nd thou, be not afraid, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Jehovah, Nor be affrighted, O Israel, For, lo, I am saving thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob hath turned back and rested, And is quiet, and there is none troubling.

De aceea, nu te teme, robul Meu Iacov, zice Domnul; nu te înspăimânta, Israele! Căci iată, te voi elibera din teritoriul cel îndepărtat şi -ţi voi izbăvi urmaşii din ţara în care sunt captivi. Iacov se va întoarce, va avea odihnă şi linişte şi nimeni nu-l va mai îngrozi,

11 F or with thee I, An affirmation of Jehovah -- to save thee, For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have scattered thee, Only, of thee I do not make an end, And I have chastised thee in judgment, And do not entirely acquit thee.

căci Eu sunt cu tine ca să te izbăvesc zice Domnul. Voi nimici toate neamurile printre care te-am risipit, dar pe tine nu te voi nimici. Te voi disciplina însă cu dreptate; nu pot să te las nepedepsit.»“

12 F or thus said Jehovah: Incurable is thy breach, grievous thy stroke,

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Lovitura ta este de nevindecat şi rana ta este incurabilă.

13 T here is none judging thy cause to bind up, Healing medicines there are none for thee.

Nu este nimeni care să-ţi apere cauza, nu este nici o doctorie pentru rana ta şi nici un mijloc de vindecare.

14 a ll loving thee have forgotten thee, Thee they do not seek, For with the stroke of an enemy I smote thee, The chastisement of a fierce one, Because of the abundance of thy iniquity, Mighty have been thy sins!

Toţi iubiţii tăi te-au uitat şi nici unuia nu-i mai pasă de tine. Te-am lovit aşa cum loveşte un duşman şi te-am disciplinat ca un om nemilos pentru că vina ta este aşa de mare, iar păcatele tale atât de numeroase.

15 W hat! -- thou criest concerning thy breach! Incurable thy pain, Because of the abundance of thy iniquity, Mighty have been thy sins! I have done these to thee.

De ce te plângi de rana ta, de durerea ta ce nu are vindecare? Ţi-am făcut aceste lucruri din cauză că vina ta este atât de mare, iar păcatele tale atât de numeroase.

16 T herefore all consuming thee are consumed, And all thine adversaries -- all of them -- Into captivity do go, And thy spoilers have been for a spoil, And all thy plunderers I give up to plunder.

Totuşi, toţi cei ce te mănâncă vor fi mâncaţi; toţi duşmanii tăi, toţi, vor fi duşi în captivitate. Cei ce te jefuiesc vor fi jefuiţi şi pe toţi cei ce te prădează îi voi da Eu ca pradă.

17 F or I increase health to thee, And from thy strokes I do heal thee, An affirmation of Jehovah, For `Outcast' they have called to thee, `Zion it, there is none seeking for her.'

Pe tine însă te voi vindeca şi-ţi voi lega rănile, zice Domnul, pentru că eşti numit ‘Cel alungat’, ‘Sionul de care nimănui nu-i pasă.’»“

18 T hus said Jehovah: Lo, I turn back the captivity of the tents of Jacob, And his dwelling places I pity, And the city hath been built on its heap, And the palace according to its ordinance remaineth.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Iată, îi voi aduce înapoi pe exilaţii corturilor lui Iacov şi voi avea milă de locuinţele lui. Fiecare cetate va fi rezidită pe ruinele ei şi fiecare citadelă va sta din nou în locul ei de odinioară.

19 A nd gone forth from them hath thanksgiving, And the voice of playful ones, And I have multiplied them and they are not few, And made them honourable, and they are not small.

Din mijlocul lor se vor înălţa mulţumiri şi strigăte de bucurie. Îi voi înmulţi şi nu se vor împuţina; îi voi onora şi nu vor fi dezonoraţi.

20 A nd his sons have been as aforetime, And his company before Me is established, And I have seen after all his oppressors.

Fiii lor vor fi ca în vremurile de odinioară şi adunarea lor va fi restabilită înaintea Mea; îi voi pedepsi pe toţi asupritorii lor.

21 A nd his honourable one hath been of himself, And his ruler from his midst goeth forth, And I have caused him to draw near, And he hath drawn nigh unto Me, For who he who hath pledged his heart To draw nigh unto Me? An affirmation of Jehovah.

Liderul lor va fi unul de-al lor şi conducătorul lor va ieşi din mijlocul lor. Îl voi apropia Eu de Mine şi-Mi va fi aproape, căci altfel cine şi-ar putea dărui inima pentru a fi aproape de Mine, zice Domnul ?

22 A nd ye have been to Me for a people, And I am to you for God.

Voi veţi fi poporul Meu şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru.»

23 L o, a whirlwind of Jehovah -- Fury hath gone forth -- a cutting whirlwind, On the head of the wicked it stayeth.

Iată furtuna Domnului! Mânia izbucneşte şi vijelia se năpusteşte asupra capului celor răi.

24 T he fierceness of the anger of Jehovah Doth not turn back till His doing, Yea, till His establishing the devices of His heart, In the latter end of the days we consider it!

Mânia aprigă a Domnului nu se va potoli până nu va împlini şi înfăptui planurile inimii Sale. Veţi înţelege aceste lucruri în zilele de pe urmă.“
