1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts, saying:

Cuvântul Domnului Oştirilor a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

2 ` Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Zion with great zeal, With great heat I have been zealous for her.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Sunt gelos cu o mare gelozie pentru Sion şi sunt aprins de gelozie pentru el!»

3 T hus said Jehovah: I have turned back unto Zion, And I have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And Jerusalem hath been called `The city of truth,' And the mountain of Jehovah of Hosts, `The holy mountain.'

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Mă voi întoarce în Sion şi voi locui în mijlocul Ierusalimului! Ierusalimul va fi numit ‘Cetatea Adevărului’, iar muntele Domnului Oştirilor va fi numit ‘Muntele cel Sfânt!’»

4 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again dwell do old men and old women, In broad places of Jerusalem, And each his staff in his hand, Because of abundance of days.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Bătrâni şi femei în vârstă vor şedea iarăşi în pieţele Ierusalimului, fiecare cu toiagul său în mână, din pricina mulţimii zilelor lor!

5 A nd broad places of the city are full of boys and girls, Playing in its broad places.

Pieţele cetăţii vor fi pline de băieţi şi fete care se vor juca pe străzile lui!»

6 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Surely it is wonderful in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, Also in Mine eyes it is wonderful, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «În acele zile, lucrul acesta va părea o minune în ochii rămăşiţei acestui popor, dar oare va fi o minune şi în ochii Mei?» zice Domnul Oştirilor.

7 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am saving My people from the land of the rising, And from the land of the going in, of the sun,

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Iată, îl voi izbăvi pe poporul Meu din ţara de la răsărit şi din ţara de la asfinţitul soarelui!

8 A nd I have brought them in, They have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God, In truth and in righteousness.

Îi voi aduce înapoi şi vor locui în mijlocul Ierusalimului! Ei vor fi poporul Meu, iar Eu voi fi Dumnezeul lor, cu credincioşie şi cu dreptate!»

9 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Let your hands be strong, Ye who are hearing in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets, That in the day the house of Jehovah of Hosts Hath been founded, the temple to be built.

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Întăriţi-vă mâinile, voi care ascultaţi în aceste zile cuvintele rostite prin gura profeţilor, care au vorbit în ziua când temelia Casei Domnului Oştirilor a fost pusă pentru zidirea Templului!

10 F or, before those days there hath been no hiring of man, Yea, a hiring of beasts there is none; And to him who is going out, And to him who is coming in, There is no peace because of the adversary, And I send all men -- each against his neighbour.

Căci înainte de aceste zile nu exista răsplată nici pentru om, nici pentru animale şi, din cauza duşmanului, cei ce se duceau şi veneau nu aveau pace. Îi stârnisem pe toţi oamenii împotriva semenilor lor!

11 A nd now, not as the former days I to the remnant of this people, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

Dar acum nu-i voi mai face rămăşiţei acestui popor ca în trecut, zice Domnul Oştirilor,

12 B ecause of the sowing of peace, The vine doth give her fruit, And the earth doth give her increase, And the heavens do give their dew, And I have caused the remnant of this people To inherit all these.

ci vor semăna în pace, viţa îşi va da rodul, pământul îşi va da recolta iar cerurile îşi vor lăsa roua să cadă. Toate acestea le voi da în stăpânirea rămăşiţei acestui popor.

13 A nd it hath come to pass, As ye have been a reviling among nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, So I save you, and ye have been a blessing, Do not fear, let your hands be strong.

Şi, aşa cum aţi fost un blestem printre neamuri, Casă a lui Iuda şi Casă a lui Israel, tot astfel vă voi mântui şi veţi fi o binecuvântare! Nu vă fie frică deci, ci întăriţi-vă mâinile!

14 F or, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, As I did purpose to do evil to you, When your fathers made Me wroth, Said Jehovah of Hosts, and I did not repent,

Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: ‘După cum am plănuit să vă fac rău când M-au mâniat părinţii voştri, zice Domnul Oştirilor, şi nu Mi-a părut rău,

15 S o I have turned back, I have purposed, in these days, To do good with Jerusalem, And with the house of Judah -- fear not!

tot aşa şi acum, în zilele acestea, plănuiesc să fac bine din nou Ierusalimului şi Casei lui Iuda! Nu vă fie frică!

16 T hese the things that ye do: Speak ye truth each with his neighbour, Truth and peaceful judgment judge in your gates,

Acestea sunt lucrurile pe care trebuie să le faceţi: fiecare să spună semenului său adevărul! Să judecaţi la porţile voastre pe temeiul adevărului şi al dreptăţii depline!

17 A nd each the evil of his neighbour ye do not devise in your heart, And a false oath ye do not love, For all these things that I have hated, An affirmation of Jehovah.'

Să nu gândiţi rău în inima voastră împotriva semenului vostru şi să nu iubiţi jurământul fals, căci toate acestea sunt lucruri pe care Eu le urăsc, zice Domnul. ’»“

18 A nd there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts unto me, saying:

Cuvântul Domnului Oştirilor a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

19 ` Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, are to the house of Judah for joy and for rejoicing, and for pleasant appointed seasons, and the truth and the peace they have loved.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Postul din luna a patra, postul din luna a cincea, postul din luna a şaptea şi postul din luna a zecea vor deveni pentru Casa lui Iuda prilejuri de bucurie şi de veselie şi sărbători plăcute! Iubiţi deci adevărul şi pacea!»

20 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Yet come do peoples, and inhabitants of many cities,

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «Vor veni din nou popoare şi locuitori ai multor cetăţi!

21 Y ea, gone have inhabitants of one To another, saying: We go diligently, To appease the face of Jehovah, To seek Jehovah of Hosts -- I go, even I.

Locuitorii unei cetăţi vor merge la cealaltă şi vor zice: ‘Haideţi să mergem să ne rugăm Domnului şi să-L căutăm pe Domnul Oştirilor! Voi merge chiar eu însumi!’

22 Y ea, come in have many peoples, and mighty nations, To seek Jehovah of Hosts in Jerusalem, And to appease the face of Jehovah.

Vor veni multe popoare şi neamuri puternice să-L caute pe Domnul Oştirilor în Ierusalim şi să se roage Domnului! »

23 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: In those days take hold do ten men of all languages of the nations, Yea, they have taken hold on the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying: We go with you, for we heard God with you!

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: «În zilele acelea, zece oameni din orice limbă a neamurilor vor apuca un iudeu de poala hainei, îl vor apuca şi-i vor zice: ‘Vrem să mergem cu voi, fiindcă am auzit că Dumnezeu este cu voi!’»“
