1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh: and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, Send My people away, and they serve Me;

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Du-te la Faraon şi spune-i: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ‘Lasă-Mi poporul să plece ca să Mi se închine.

2 a nd if thou art refusing to send away, lo, I am smiting all thy border with frogs;

Dacă nu-l vei lăsa să plece, voi lovi toată ţara ta cu broaşte.

3 a nd the River hath teemed frogs, and they have gone up and gone into thy house, and into the inner-chamber of thy bed, and on thy couch, and into the house of thy servants, and among thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneading-troughs;

Râul va fi plin de broaşte; ele vor intra în palatul tău, în dormitorul tău, în patul tău, în casele slujitorilor tăi, ale poporului tău, în cuptoare şi în vasele de frământat.

4 y ea, on thee, and on thy people, and on all thy servants do the frogs go up.'

Broaştele se vor sui pe tine, pe poporul tău şi pe toţi slujitorii tăi.’»“

5 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy hand, with thy rod, against the streams, against the rivers, and against the ponds, and cause the frogs to come up against the land of Egypt.'

Domnul i-a mai zis lui Moise: „Spune-i lui Aaron să-şi întindă mâna cu toiagul peste râuri, canale şi iazuri, ca broaştele să iasă în ţara Egiptului.“

6 A nd Aaron stretcheth out his hand against the waters of Egypt, and the frog cometh up, and covereth the land of Egypt;

Aaron şi-a întins mâna peste apele Egiptului, iar broaştele au ieşit şi au acoperit ţara Egiptului.

7 a nd the scribes do so with their flashings, and cause the frogs to come up against the land of Egypt.

Dar vrăjitorii au făcut şi ei la fel prin vrăjitoriile lor şi au adus broaşte în Egipt.

8 A nd Pharaoh calleth for Moses and for Aaron, and saith, `Make supplication unto Jehovah, that he turn aside the frogs from me, and from my people, and I send the people away, and they sacrifice to Jehovah.'

După aceea Faraon i-a chemat pe Moise şi pe Aaron şi le-a zis: – Rugaţi-vă Domnului să ia broaştele de pe mine şi de pe poporul meu şi voi lăsa poporul să plece ca să-I aducă jertfe Domnului.

9 A nd Moses saith to Pharaoh, `Beautify thyself over me; when do I make supplication for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to cut off the frogs from thee and from thy houses -- only in the River they do remain?'

Moise i-a răspuns lui Faraon: – Îţi las cinstea să hotărăşti când să mă rog pentru tine, pentru slujitorii tăi şi pentru poporul tău, ca broaştele să fie luate de pe tine şi din casele tale şi să rămână doar în Nil.

10 a nd he saith, `To-morrow.' And he saith, According to thy word, so that thou knowest that there is none like Jehovah our God,

– Mâine! i-a zis el. – Fie aşa cum spui – i-a răspuns Moise – ca să ştii că nu este nimeni ca Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru.

11 a nd the frogs have turned aside from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; only in the River they do remain.'

Broaştele se vor depărta de la tine, din casele tale, de la slujitorii tăi şi de la poporul tău; ele vor rămâne doar în Nil.

12 A nd Moses -- Aaron also -- goeth out from Pharaoh, and Moses crieth unto Jehovah, concerning the matter of the frogs which He hath set on Pharaoh;

Moise şi Aaron au ieşit de la Faraon şi Moise a strigat către Domnul cu privire la broaştele pe care le-a adus peste Faraon.

13 a nd Jehovah doth according to the word of Moses, and the frogs die out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields,

Domnul a făcut aşa cum I-a cerut Moise: broaştele au murit în case, în curţi şi pe câmpuri.

14 a nd they heap them up together, and the land stinketh.

Ei le-au adunat grămezi şi ţara s-a împuţit.

15 A nd Pharaoh seeth that there hath been a respite, and he hath hardened his heart, and hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken.

Când Faraon a văzut că are răgaz, şi-a împietrit inima, după cum spusese Domnul, şi nu i-a ascultat. A treia urgie: ţânţarii

16 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, and it hath become gnats in all the land of Egypt.'

Apoi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Spune-i lui Aaron: «Întinde-ţi toiagul şi loveşte praful pământului ca el să se prefacă în ţânţari în toată ţara Egiptului.»“

17 A nd they do so, and Aaron stretcheth out his hand with his rod, and smiteth the dust of the land, and the gnats are on man and on beast; all the dust of the land hath been gnats in all the land of Egypt.

Ei au făcut întocmai: Aaron şi-a întins mâna cu toiagul, a lovit praful pământului şi au venit ţânţari peste oameni şi peste animale; în toată ţara Egiptului praful pământului s-a transformat în ţânţari.

18 A nd the scribes do so with their flashings, to bring out the gnats, and they have not been able, and the gnats are on man and on beast;

Vrăjitorii au încercat să facă şi ei ţânţari prin vrăjitoriile lor, dar n-au putut. Ţânţarii se aflau pretutindeni, pe oameni şi pe animale.

19 a nd the scribes say unto Pharaoh, `It the finger of God;' and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken.

Atunci vrăjitorii i-au zis lui Faraon: „Acesta este degetul lui Dumnezeu!“ Dar inima lui Faraon era împietrită şi nu i-a ascultat, după cum spusese Domnul. A patra urgie: muştele

20 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Rise early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, lo, he is going out to the waters, and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, Send My people away, and they serve Me;

După aceea, Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Scoală-te dis-de-dimineaţă, du-te înaintea lui Faraon, când el se va duce la apă, şi spune-i: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ‘Lasă-Mi poporul să plece ca să Mi se închine.

21 f or, if thou art not sending My people away, lo, I am sending against thee, and against thy servants, and against thy people, and against thy houses, the beetle, and the houses of the Egyptians have been full of the beetle, and also the ground on which they are.

Dacă nu-Mi vei lăsa poporul să plece, voi trimite roiuri de muşte peste tine, peste slujitorii tăi, peste poporul tău şi în casele tale: atât casele egiptenilor, cât şi ţara în care locuiesc se vor umple de roiuri de muşte.

22 ` And I have separated in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people are staying, that the beetle is not there, so that thou knowest that I Jehovah in the midst of the land,

Dar în ziua aceea voi proteja ţinutul Goşen, unde locuieşte poporul Meu, iar roiurile de muşte nu vor ajunge acolo, ca să recunoşti că Eu sunt Domnul în această ţară.

23 a nd I have put a division between My people and thy people: to-morrow is this sign.'

Astfel, voi face o deosebire între poporul Meu şi poporul tău. Semnul acesta ţi se va arăta mâine.’»“

24 A nd Jehovah doth so, and the grievous beetle entereth the house of Pharaoh, and the house of his servants, and in all the land of Egypt the land is corrupted from the presence of the beetle.

Domnul a făcut întocmai şi roiurile de muşte au venit în palatul lui Faraon şi în casele slujitorilor săi; toată ţara Egiptului a fost pustiită din cauza muştelor.

25 A nd Pharaoh calleth unto Moses and to Aaron, and saith, `Go, sacrifice to your God in the land;'

Atunci Faraon i-a chemat pe Moise şi pe Aaron şi le-a zis: – Duceţi-vă şi aduceţi jertfe Dumnezeului vostru în ţară.

26 a nd Moses saith, `Not right to do so, for the abomination of the Egyptians we do sacrifice to Jehovah our God; lo, we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes -- and they do not stone us!

– Nu este bine să facem astfel, i-a răspuns Moise, pentru că jertfele pe care le aducem Domnului, Dumnezeul nostru, sunt privite drept urâciuni de către egipteni. Dacă aducem înaintea egiptenilor jertfe care pentru ei sunt o urâciune, nu ne vor omorî ei cu pietre?

27 A journey of three days we go into the wilderness, and have sacrificed to Jehovah our God, as He saith unto us.'

Va trebui să facem o călătorie de trei zile în pustie şi acolo să aducem jertfe Domnului, Dumnezeul nostru, aşa cum ne-a poruncit.

28 A nd Pharaoh saith, `I send you away, and ye have sacrificed to Jehovah your God in the wilderness, only go not very far off; make ye supplication for me;'

Faraon a zis: – Vă voi lăsa să plecaţi ca să aduceţi jertfe Domnului, Dumnezeul vostru, în pustie, doar dacă nu veţi merge prea departe. Deocamdată, rugaţi-vă pentru mine.

29 a nd Moses saith, `Lo, I am going out from thee, and have made supplication unto Jehovah, and the beetle hath turned aside from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people -- to-morrow, only let not Pharaoh add to deceive -- in not sending the people away to sacrifice to Jehovah.'

– Imediat ce ies de la tine, i-a răspuns Moise, mă voi ruga Domnului ca mâine să îndepărteze roiurile de muşte de la Faraon şi de la poporul său. Numai să înceteze Faraon să se mai poarte cu viclenie şi să nu lase poporul să plece ca să aducă jertfe Domnului!

30 A nd Moses goeth out from Pharaoh, and maketh supplication unto Jehovah,

Moise a ieşit de la Faraon şi s-a rugat Domnului.

31 a nd Jehovah doth according to the word of Moses, and turneth aside the beetle from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people -- there hath not been left one;

Domnul a făcut aşa cum I-a cerut Moise: a îndepărtat roiurile de muşte de la Faraon, de la slujitorii săi şi din poporul său; n-a rămas nici măcar una.

32 a nd Pharaoh hardeneth his heart also at this time, and hath not sent the people away.

Însă şi de data aceasta Faraon şi-a împietrit inima şi nu a lăsat poporul să plece.
