1 I n the tenth year, in the tenth, in the twelfth of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying,

În anul al zecelea, în ziua a douăsprezecea a lunii a zecea, Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

2 ` Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy concerning him, and concerning Egypt -- all of it.

„Fiul omului, îndreaptă-ţi faţa spre Faraon, monarhul Egiptului şi profeţeşte împotriva lui şi împotriva întregului Egipt.

3 S peak, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt! The great dragon that is crouching in the midst of his floods, Who hath said, My flood my own, And I -- I have made it myself.

Vorbeşte şi spune-le din partea Stăpânului Domn: «Iată, sunt împotriva ta, Faraon, monarh al Egiptului, marele monstru care te odihneşti în mijlocul râurilor tale! Tu zici: ‘Nilul este al meu! L-am făcut pentru mine însumi!’

4 A nd I have put hooks in thy jaws, And I have caused the fish of thy floods to cleave to thy scales, And I have caused thee to come up from the midst of thy floods, And every fish of thy floods to thy scales doth cleave.

Dar îţi voi pune cârlige în fălci şi voi face ca peştii râurilor tale să se lipească de solzii tăi! Te voi scoate din mijlocul râurilor tale împreună cu toţi peştii care s-au lipit de solzii tăi.

5 A nd I have left thee in the wilderness, Thou and every fish of thy floods, On the face of the field thou dost fall, Thou art not gathered nor assembled, To the beast of the earth and to the fowl of the heavens I have given thee for food.

Te voi lăsa în pustie, pe tine şi pe toţi peştii din râurile tale. Vei cădea pe suprafaţa câmpiei şi nu vei fi luat sau ridicat, ci te voi da drept hrană fiarelor pământului şi păsărilor cerului.

6 A nd known have all inhabitants of Egypt That I Jehovah, Because of their being a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

Atunci toţi locuitorii Egiptului vor şti că Eu sunt Domnul. Ai fost un toiag de trestie pentru Casa lui Israel.

7 I n their taking hold of thee by thy hand, -- thou art crushed, And hast rent to them all the shoulder, And in their leaning on thee thou art broken, And hast caused all their thighs to stand.

Când te-a luat în mână, te-ai sfărâmat şi i-ai străpuns tot umărul. Când s-a rezemat de tine, te-ai rupt şi i s-au scrântit şoldurile.»

8 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am bringing in against thee a sword, And have cut off from thee man and beast.

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, voi aduce împotriva ta o sabie şi-ţi voi nimici oamenii şi animalele.

9 A nd the land of Egypt hath been for a desolation and a waste, And they have known that I Jehovah. Because he said: The flood mine, and I made.

Ţara Egiptului va ajunge o pustietate şi o ruină şi veţi şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul. Pentru că ai zis: ‘Râul este al meu! Eu l-am făcut!’,

10 T herefore, lo, I against thee, and against thy floods, And have given the land of Egypt for wastes, A waste, a desolation, from Migdol to Syene, And unto the border of Cush.

iată, sunt împotriva ta şi a râurilor tale! Voi preface ţara Egiptului într-o mare ruină, într-o pustietate ce se va întinde de la Migdol la Syene şi până la hotarul ţării Cuş.

11 N ot pass over into it doth a foot of man, Yea, the foot of beast doth not pass into it, Nor is it inhabited forty years.

Nu va mai trece prin ea nici picior de om, nici picior de animal şi timp de patruzeci de ani va rămâne nelocuită.

12 A nd I have made the land of Egypt a desolation, In the midst of desolate lands, And its cities, in the midst of waste cities, Are a desolation forty years, And I have scattered the Egyptians among nations, And I have dispersed them through lands.

Voi preface ţara Egiptului într-o pustietate în mijlocul altor ţări pustiite şi, timp de patruzeci de ani, cetăţile ei vor face parte din rândul cetăţilor lăsate pustii. Îi voi împrăştia pe egipteni printre neamuri şi-i voi risipi în ţări străine.»

13 B ut thus said the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years I gather the Egyptians Out of the peoples whither they have been scattered,

Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «La sfârşitul celor patruzeci de ani, îi voi strânge pe egipteni dintre popoarele unde au fost împrăştiaţi.

14 A nd I have turned back the captivity of Egypt, And I have brought them back the land of Pathros, to the land of their birth, And they have been there a low kingdom.

Îi voi aduce înapoi pe captivii Egiptului, îi voi aduce înapoi în ţara Patros, în patria lor, şi acolo vor fi un regat neînsemnat.

15 O f the kingdoms it is lowest, And it lifteth not up itself any more above the nations, And I have made them few, So as not to rule among nations.

Va fi cel mai neînsemnat dintre regate şi nu se va mai înălţa deasupra neamurilor. Îi voi împuţina ca să nu mai stăpânească peste neamuri.

16 A nd it is no more to the house of Israel for a confidence, Bringing iniquity to remembrance, By their turning after them, And they have known that I the Lord Jehovah.'

Egiptul nu va mai fi o pricină de încredere pentru Casa lui Israel, ci îi va aduce aminte de nelegiuirea ei, când venea să-i ceară ajutorul. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Stăpânul Domn. »“ Egiptul, răsplata oferită lui Nebucadneţar

17 A nd it cometh to pass, in the twenty and seventh year, in the first, in the first of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying:

În anul al douăzeci şi şaptelea, în prima zi a lunii întâi, Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

18 ` Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Hath caused his force to serve a great service against Tyre, Every head bald -- every shoulder peeled, And reward he had none, nor his force, out of Tyre, For the service that he served against it.

„Fiul omului, Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, şi-a pus oştirea să facă o lucrare grea împotriva Tirului. Fiecare cap a fost pleşuvit şi fiecare umăr a fost zdrelit, dar nici el, nici oştirea lui nu au căpătat nici o răsplată din Tir pentru lucrarea pe care au înfăptuit-o împotriva cetăţii.

19 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah, Lo, I am giving to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon the land of Egypt, And he hath taken away its store, And hath taken its spoil, and taken its prey, And it hath been a reward to his force.

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, îi dau ţara Egiptului lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului. El îi va duce bogăţia, va jefui ce este de jefuit şi va prăda ce este de prădat. Aceasta va fi plata oştirii sale.

20 H is wage for which he laboured I have given to him, The land of Egypt -- in that they wrought for Me, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Ca răsplată pentru ceea ce a lucrat împotriva Tirului îi dau ţara Egiptului, deoarece s-a ostenit pentru Mine, zice Stăpânul Domn.»

21 I n that day I cause to shoot up a horn to the house of Israel, And to thee I give an opening of the mouth in their midst, And they have known that I Jehovah!'

În ziua aceea voi înălţa puterea Casei lui Israel, iar ţie îţi voi deschide gura să vorbeşti în mijlocul lor. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul. “
