1 A nd Moses goeth and speaketh these words unto all Israel,

Moise s-a dus şi a spus următoarele cuvinte înaintea întregului Israel:

2 a nd he saith unto them, `A son of a hundred and twenty years I to-day; I am not able any more to go out and to come in, and Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou dost not pass over this Jordan,

„Eu am o sută douăzeci de ani şi nu voi mai putea să vă conduc. Domnul mi-a interzis să traversez Iordanul.

3 ` Jehovah thy God He is passing over before thee, He doth destroy these nations from before thee, and thou hast possessed them; Joshua -- he is passing over before thee as Jehovah hath spoken,

El Însuşi va traversa înaintea ta, va nimici neamurile acestea dinaintea ta, iar tu le vei stăpâni. Iosua va traversa în fruntea ta, aşa cum Domnul a vorbit.

4 a nd Jehovah hath done to them as he hath done to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorite, and to their land, whom He destroyed.

Domnul va face cu ele tot aşa cum le-a făcut lui Sihon şi Og, regii amoriţi, şi ţărilor lor, pe care le-a distrus.

5 A nd Jehovah hath given them before your face, and ye have done to them according to all the command which I have commanded you;

Domnul vi le va da vouă, iar voi să faceţi potrivit cu toate poruncile pe care vi le-am dat.

6 b e strong and courageous, fear not, nor be terrified because of them, for Jehovah thy God He who is going with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee.'

Întăreşte-te şi încurajează-te! Să nu-ţi fie teamă şi să nu te înspăimânţi din cauza lor, fiindcă Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, va merge împreună cu tine; El nu te va părăsi, nici nu te va uita.“

7 A nd Moses calleth for Joshua, and saith unto him before the eyes of all Israel, `Be strong and courageous, for thou -- thou dost go in with this people unto the land which Jehovah hath sworn to their fathers to give to them, and thou -- thou dost cause them to inherit it;

Moise l-a chemat pe Iosua şi i-a vorbit înaintea întregului Israel: „Fii tare şi curajos, pentru că tu vei merge cu poporul acesta în ţara pe care Domnul a promis-o strămoşilor lor că le-o va da şi îi vei conduce la moştenirea lor.

8 a nd Jehovah He who is going before thee, He himself is with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee; fear not, nor be affrighted.'

Domnul Însuşi va merge înaintea ta şi va fi cu tine; El nu te va părăsi, nici nu te va uita; să nu-ţi fie teamă şi să nu te înspăimânţi!“ Citirea publică şi periodică a Legii

9 A nd Moses writeth this law, and giveth it unto the priests (sons of Levi, those bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah), and unto all the elders of Israel,

Moise a scris Legea aceasta şi a încredinţat-o preoţilor leviţi, care duceau Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul, şi sfatului bătrânilor lui Israel.

10 a nd Moses commandeth them, saying, `At the end of seven years, in the appointed time, the year of release, in the feast of booths,

El le-a poruncit astfel: „La fiecare şapte ani, în anul iertării, la Sărbătoarea Corturilor,

11 i n the coming in of all Israel to see the face of Jehovah in the place which He chooseth, thou dost proclaim this law before all Israel, in their ears.

când întreg Israelul va veni înaintea Domnului, Dumnezeul vostru, în locul pe care El îl va alege, să citiţi această Lege înaintea întregului popor, în auzul lor.

12 ` Assemble the people, the men, and the women, and the infants, and thy sojourner who within thy gates, so that they hear, and so that they learn, and have feared Jehovah your God, and observed to do all the words of this law;

Să convocaţi poporul – bărbaţii, femeile, copiii şi străinul din cetăţile voastre – ca să asculte şi să înveţe să se teamă de Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, şi să păzească toate cuvintele acestei Legi, împlinindu-le.

13 a nd their sons, who have not known, do hear, and have learned to fear Jehovah your God all the days which ye are living on the ground whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it.'

În acest fel şi copiii lor, care nu o cunosc, o vor auzi şi vor învăţa să se teamă de Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, în tot timpul cât veţi trăi în ţara pentru care aţi trecut Iordanul ca s-o stăpâniţi.“ Rebeliunea lui Israel este prezisă

14 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, thy days have drawn near to die; call Joshua, and station yourselves in the tent of meeting, and I charge him;' and Moses goeth -- Joshua also -- and they station themselves in the tent of meeting,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Iată că se apropie ziua morţii tale. Cheamă-l pe Iosua şi înfăţişaţi-vă la Cortul Întâlnirii, ca să-l împuternicesc.“ Moise şi Iosua au venit şi s-au înfăţişat la Cortul Întâlnirii.

15 a nd Jehovah is seen in the tent, in a pillar of a cloud; and the pillar of the cloud standeth at the opening of the tent.

Atunci Domnul S-a arătat în Cort într-un stâlp de nor, iar stâlpul de nor s-a oprit la intrarea Cortului.

16 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, thou art lying down with thy fathers, and this people hath risen, and gone a-whoring after the gods of the stranger of the land into the midst of which it hath entered, and forsaken Me, and broken My covenant which I made with it;

Domnul i-a vorbit lui Moise: „Iată, tu vei muri, iar poporul acesta se va ridica şi se va prostitua înaintea zeilor străini din ţara în care vor intra. Mă vor părăsi şi vor rupe legământul pe care l-am încheiat cu ei.

17 a nd Mine anger hath burned against it in that day, and I have forsaken them, and hidden My face from them, and it hath been for consumption, and many evils and distresses have found it, and it hath said in that day, Is it not because that my God is not in my midst -- these evils have found me?

În ziua aceea mă voi aprinde de mânie împotriva lor şi îi voi părăsi, Îmi voi ascunde faţa de ei şi vor fi nimiciţi. Multe rele şi necazuri vor veni peste ei şi atunci vor începe să se întrebe: «Oare nu ne-au ajuns aceste nenorociri din cauză că Dumnezeul nostru nu este în mijlocul nostru?»

18 a nd I certainly hide My face in that day for all the evil which it hath done, for it hath turned unto other gods.

Iar Eu Îmi voi ascunde faţa de ei în ziua aceea, din cauza tuturor răutăţilor pe care le-au săvârşit întorcându-se spre alţi dumnezei.

19 ` And now, write for you this song, and teach it the sons of Israel; put it in their mouths, so that this song is to Me for a witness against the sons of Israel,

Acum scrieţi pentru voi cântarea aceasta şi învăţaţi-i pe israeliţi s-o cânte, pentru ca astfel, cântarea aceasta să fie pentru Mine un martor împotriva lor.

20 a nd I bring them in unto the ground which I have sworn to their fathers -- flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, and been fat, and have turned unto other gods, and they have served them, and despised Me, and broken My covenant.

Când îi voi duce în ţara unde curge lapte şi miere, pe care am promis-o strămoşilor lor şi când vor mânca, se vor sătura şi se vor îngrăşa, ei se vor întoarce spre alţi dumnezei şi le vor sluji, iar pe Mine Mă vor dispreţui şi vor rupe legământul Meu.

21 ` And it hath been, when many evils and distresses do meet it, that this song hath testified to its face for a witness; for it is not forgotten out of the mouth of its seed, for I have known its imagining which it is doing to-day, before I bring them in unto the land of which I have sworn.'

Iar când vor fi loviţi cu o mulţime de rele şi necazuri, cântarea aceasta va mărturisi împotriva lor, pentru că ea nu va fi uitată de urmaşii lor. Căci Eu le cunosc pornirile pe care le au chiar de pe acum, chiar înainte să-i duc în ţara pe care le-am promis-o.“

22 A nd Moses writeth this song on that day, and doth teach it the sons of Israel,

În ziua aceea Moise a scris cântecul acesta şi i-a învăţat pe israeliţi.

23 a nd He commandeth Joshua son of Nun, and saith, `Be strong and courageous, for thou dost bring in the sons of Israel unto the land which I have sworn to them, and I -- I am with thee.'

El i-a poruncit lui Iosua, fiul lui Nun: „Fii tare şi curajos, pentru că tu îi vei conduce pe israeliţi în ţara pe care le-am promis-o, iar Eu voi fi cu tine.“

24 A nd it cometh to pass, when Moses finisheth to write the words of this law on a book till their completion,

După ce Moise a terminat de scris cuvintele acestei Legi într-o carte, de la început până la sfârşit,

25 t hat Moses commandeth the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,

a dat porunca aceasta leviţilor care duceau Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul:

26 ` Take this Book of the Law, and thou hast set it on the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and it hath been there against thee for a witness;

„Luaţi această Carte a Legii şi aşezaţi-o lângă Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru. Acolo va fi ca un martor împotriva voastră.

27 f or I -- I have known thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck; lo, in my being yet alive with you to-day, rebellious ye have been with Jehovah, and also surely after my death.

Pentru că eu cunosc răzvrătirea şi încăpăţânarea voastră. Dacă voi v-aţi împotrivit continuu Domnului în timp ce eu trăiam împreună cu voi, cu atât mai mult vă veţi împotrivi după moartea mea!

28 ` Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your authorities, and I speak in their ears these words, and cause to testify against them the heavens and the earth,

Chemaţi-i înaintea mea pe toţi bătrânii seminţiilor voastre şi pe toţi dregătorii voştri! Voi spune în auzul lor aceste cuvinte şi voi lua ca martori împotriva lor cerul şi pământul.

29 f or I have known that after my death ye do very corruptly, and have turned aside out of the way which I commanded you, and evil hath met you in the latter end of the days, because ye do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to make Him angry with the work of your hands.'

Fiindcă eu ştiu că după moartea mea vă veţi strica şi vă veţi abate de la calea pe care v-am poruncit-o. În vremurile care vor urma va veni nenorocirea peste voi dacă veţi face ceea ce este rău în ochii Domnului, mâniindu-L prin lucrarea mâinilor voastre.“ Cântarea lui Moise

30 A nd Moses speaketh in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, till their completion: --
