1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise

2 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, I Jehovah your God;

să le poruncească israeliţilor: „Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

3 a ccording to the work of the land of Egypt in which ye have dwelt ye do not, and according to the work of the land of Canaan whither I am bringing you in, ye do not, and in their statutes ye walk not.

Să nu săvârşiţi faptele care se fac în ţara Egiptului, unde aţi locuit, şi să nu săvârşiţi faptele care se fac în Canaan, ţara unde vă duc. Să nu trăiţi după legile lor.

4 ` My judgments ye do, and My statutes ye keep, to walk in them; I Jehovah your God;

Să împliniţi poruncile Mele şi să păziţi legile Mele, urmându-le. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

5 a nd ye have kept My statutes and My judgments which man doth and liveth in them; I Jehovah.

Să păziţi legile şi poruncile Mele; omul care le împlineşte va trăi prin ele. Eu sunt Domnul.

6 ` None of you unto any relation of his flesh doth draw near to uncover nakedness; I Jehovah.

Nimeni dintre voi să nu se apropie de ruda lui apropiată ca să-i descopere goliciunea. Eu sunt Domnul.

7 ` The nakedness of thy father and the nakedness of thy mother thou dost not uncover, she thy mother; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea tatălui tău, căci este goliciunea mamei tale; să nu-i descoperi goliciunea întrucât îţi este mamă.

8 ` The nakedness of the wife of thy father thou dost not uncover; it the nakedness of thy father.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea soţiei tatălui tău, căci este goliciunea tatălui tău.

9 ` The nakedness of thy sister, daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, born at home or born without; thou dost not uncover their nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea surorii tale, fiica tatălui tău sau fiica mamei tale, indiferent dacă este născută în casa ta sau în afara casei tale.

10 ` The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter: thou dost not uncover their nakedness; for theirs thy nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea fiicei fiului tău sau a fiicei fetei tale, căci goliciunea lor este goliciunea ta.

11 ` The nakedness of a daughter of thy father's wife, begotten of thy father, she thy sister; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea fiicei soţiei tatălui tău, născută tatălui tău, pentru că ea este sora ta.

12 ` The nakedness of a sister of thy father thou dost not uncover; she a relation of thy father.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea surorii tatălui tău; ea este ruda tatălui tău.

13 ` The nakedness of thy mother's sister thou dost not uncover; for she thy mother's relation.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea surorii mamei tale, pentru că ea este ruda mamei tale.

14 ` The nakedness of thy father's brother thou dost not uncover; unto his wife thou dost not draw near; she thine aunt.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea fratelui tatălui tău, adică să nu te apropii de soţia lui; îţi este mătuşă.

15 ` The nakedness of thy daughter-in-law thou dost not uncover; she thy son's wife; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea nurorii tale; ea este soţia fiului tău; să nu-i descoperi goliciunea.

16 ` The nakedness of thy brother's wife thou dost not uncover; it thy brother's nakedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea soţiei fratelui tău; este goliciunea fratelui tău.

17 ` The nakedness of a woman and her daughter thou dost not uncover; her son's daughter, and her daughter's daughter thou dost not take to uncover her nakedness; they her relations; it wickedness.

Să nu descoperi goliciunea unei femei şi a fiicei sale şi nici să nu iei pe fiica fiului ei sau pe fiica fetei sale ca să le descoperi goliciunea, căci ele îi sunt rudenii şi lucrul acesta este o nelegiuire.

18 ` And a woman unto another thou dost not take, to be an adversary, to uncover her nakedness beside her, in her life.

Să nu o iei pe sora soţiei tale ca să-i descoperi goliciunea. Dacă faci lucrul acesta cât timp soţia ta mai este încă în viaţă îi faci un mare necaz.

19 ` And unto a woman in the separation of her uncleanness thou dost not draw near to uncover her nakedness.

Să nu te apropii de o femeie ca să-i descoperi goliciunea în timpul necurăţiei ei.

20 ` And unto the wife of thy fellow thou dost not give thy seed of copulation, for uncleanness with her.

Să nu te culci cu soţia semenului tău, pângărindu-te astfel cu ea.

21 ` And of thy seed thou dost not give to pass over to the Molech; nor dost thou pollute the name of thy God; I Jehovah.

Să nu dai pe nici unul dintre fiii tăi să fie jertfiţi lui Moleh, profanând astfel Numele Dumnezeului tău. Eu sunt Domnul.

22 ` And with a male thou dost not lie as one lieth with a woman; abomination it.

Să nu te culci cu un bărbat aşa cum te culci cu o femeie; este o urâciune.

23 ` And with any beast thou dost not give thy copulation, for uncleanness with it; and a woman doth not stand before a beast to lie down with it; confusion it.

Să nu te împreunezi cu un animal, spurcându-te cu el. Nici femeia să nu se apropie de un animal ca să se împreuneze cu el; este o perversitate.

24 ` Ye are not defiled with all these, for with all these have the nations been defiled which I am sending away from before you;

Să nu vă spurcaţi în nici unul din aceste feluri, căci prin toate aceste fapte s-au spurcat neamurile pe care le voi izgoni dinaintea voastră.

25 a nd the land is defiled, and I charge its iniquity upon it, and the land vomiteth out its inhabitants:

Ţara a fost pângărită prin ele; de aceea Eu o voi pedepsi pentru nelegiuirea ei, astfel încât ţara îi va vărsa pe locuitorii ei.

26 a nd ye -- ye have kept My statutes and My judgments, and do not of all these abominations, the native and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst,

Voi însă să păziţi poruncile şi legile Mele; nici băştinaşul şi nici străinul care locuieşte printre voi să nu săvârşească aceste urâciuni,

27 ( for all these abominations have the men of the land done who before you, and the land is defiled),

căci toate aceste urâciuni le-au făcut locuitorii acestei ţări, care au fost înainte de voi în ea şi ţara a fost astfel pângărită.

28 a nd the land doth not vomit you out in your defiling it, as it hath vomited out the nation which before you;

Dacă şi voi veţi pângări ţara, ea vă va vărsa aşa cum le-a vărsat şi pe neamurile care au fost înaintea voastră.

29 f or any one who doth of all these abominations -- even the persons who are doing, have been cut off from the midst of their people;

Căci oricine va face aceste urâciuni va fi nimicit din mijlocul poporului său.

30 a nd ye have kept My charge, so as not to do of the abominable statutes which have been done before you, and ye do not defile yourselves with them; I Jehovah your God.'

De aceea păziţi poruncile Mele şi nu urmaţi nici unul din aceste obiceiuri îngrozitoare, care au fost practicate înaintea voastră, ca să nu vă spurcaţi cu ele. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.“
