1 A nd him who is weak in the faith receive ye -- not to determinations of reasonings;

Primiţi-i bine între voi pe cei care sunt slabi în credinţă, fără a purta dispute!

2 o ne doth believe that he may eat all things -- and he who is weak doth eat herbs;

Unul crede că poate să mănânce orice, pe când cel slab mănâncă doar legume.

3 l et not him who is eating despise him who is not eating: and let not him who is not eating judge him who is eating, for God did receive him.

Cel ce mănâncă orice să nu-l dispreţuiască pe cel ce nu mănâncă orice, iar cel ce nu mănâncă orice să nu-l condamne pe cel ce mănâncă, pentru că Dumnezeu l-a primit.

4 T hou -- who art thou that art judging another's domestic? to his own master he doth stand or fall; and he shall be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

Cine eşti tu să-l condamni pe slujitorul altuia?! Dacă stă sau cade, îl priveşte pe stăpânul său! Însă el va sta, pentru că Domnul îl poate face să stea.

5 O ne doth judge one day above another, and another doth judge every day; let each in his own mind be fully assured.

Unul crede că o zi este mai bună decât alta, iar altul le consideră pe toate la fel. Fiecare trebuie să fie pe deplin convins în gândirea sa.

6 H e who is regarding the day, to the Lord he doth regard, and he who is not regarding the day, to the Lord he doth not regard. He who is eating, to the Lord he doth eat, for he doth give thanks to God; and he who is not eating, to the Lord he doth not eat, and doth give thanks to God.

Cel ce respectă o anumită zi, pentru Domnul o respectă. Cel ce mănâncă orice, pentru Domnul mănâncă, întrucât el Îi mulţumeşte lui Dumnezeu, iar cel ce nu mănâncă orice, pentru Domnul nu mănâncă şi Îi mulţumeşte şi el lui Dumnezeu.

7 F or none of us to himself doth live, and none to himself doth die;

Căci nimeni dintre noi nu trăieşte pentru el însuşi şi nimeni dintre noi nu moare pentru el însuşi:

8 f or both, if we may live, to the Lord we live; if also we may die, to the Lord we die; both then if we may live, also if we may die, we are the Lord's;

dacă trăim, pentru Domnul trăim, iar dacă murim, pentru Domnul murim. Astfel, fie că trăim, fie că murim, noi suntem ai Domnului.

9 f or because of this Christ both died and rose again, and lived again, that both of dead and of living he may be Lord.

Pentru acest scop a murit şi a înviat Cristos: ca să poată fi Domn şi al celor morţi, şi al celor vii.

10 A nd thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand at the tribunal of the Christ;

Aşadar, de ce-l condamni pe fratele tău? Sau de ce-l dispreţuieşti pe fratele tău? Căci toţi vom sta înaintea tronului de judecată al lui Dumnezeu.

11 f or it hath been written, `I live! saith the Lord -- to Me bow shall every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God;'

Pentru că este scris: „Viu sunt Eu, zice Domnul, că orice genunchi se va pleca înaintea Mea şi orice limbă Îl va mărturisi pe Dumnezeu!“

12 s o, then, each of us concerning himself shall give reckoning to God;

Deci fiecare dintre noi va da socoteală despre sine însuşi înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

13 n o longer, therefore, may we judge one another, but this judge ye rather, not to put a stumbling-stone before the brother, or an offence.

Aşadar, să nu ne mai judecăm unii pe alţii, ci, mai degrabă, judecaţi ca nu cumva să puneţi fratelui vostru o piatră de poticnire sau o pricină de cădere.

14 I have known, and am persuaded, in the Lord Jesus, that nothing unclean of itself, except to him who is reckoning anything to be unclean -- to that one unclean;

Ştiu şi sunt convins în Domnul Isus că nici un lucru nu este necurat în sine, însă dacă cineva consideră un lucru ca fiind necurat, atunci pentru el este necurat.

15 a nd if through victuals thy brother is grieved, no more dost thou walk according to love; do not with thy victuals destroy that one for whom Christ died.

Dacă fratele tău este întristat din cauza a ceea ce mănânci, atunci tu nu mai trăieşti în dragoste. Nu-l nimici, prin ceea ce mănânci, pe cel pentru care a murit Cristos!

16 L et not, then, your good be evil spoken of,

Nu lăsaţi ca binele vostru să fie vorbit de rău!

17 f or the reign of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit;

Căci Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu nu este nici mâncare, nici băutură, ci dreptate, pace şi bucurie în Duhul Sfânt.

18 f or he who in these things is serving the Christ, acceptable to God and approved of men.

Cel care-L slujeşte astfel pe Cristos Îi este plăcut lui Dumnezeu şi este respectat de oameni.

19 S o, then, the things of peace may we pursue, and the things of building up one another;

Aşadar, să urmărim lucrurile care aduc pacea şi cele prin care ne zidim unii pe alţii!

20 f or the sake of victuals cast not down the work of God; all things, indeed, pure, but evil to the man who is eating through stumbling.

Nu distrugeţi lucrarea lui Dumnezeu de dragul unei mâncări! Într-adevăr, toate lucrurile sunt curate, însă este rău pentru un om să mănânce ceva care pe celălalt l-ar face să cadă.

21 R ight not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to in which thy brother doth stumble, or is made to fall, or is weak.

Este bine să nu mănânci carne sau să nu bei vin sau orice altceva care pe fratele tău l-ar face să cadă.

22 T hou hast faith! to thyself have before God; happy is he who is not judging himself in what he doth approve,

Aşadar, încredinţarea pe care o ai, păstreaz-o pentru tine înaintea lui Dumnezeu. Ferice de omul care nu se condamnă din cauza a ceea ce el consideră ca fiind bun!

23 a nd he who is making a difference, if he may eat, hath been condemned, because not of faith; and all that not of faith is sin.

Însă omul care are îndoieli este condamnat dacă mănâncă, pentru că n-o face din convingere. Orice lucru care nu vine din convingere este păcat.
