1 A nd Joshua is old, entering into days, and Jehovah saith unto him, `Thou hast become aged, thou hast entered into days; as to the land, very much hath been left to possess.

Cuando Josué envejeció, el Señor le dijo: «Tú ya estás muy viejo, y aún queda mucha tierra por conquistar.

2 ` This the land that is left; all the circuits of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

Ahí está la tierra que queda en los territorios de los filisteos y de los gesureos,

3 f rom Sihor which on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.

desde Sijor, al oriente de Egipto, hasta el límite de Ecrón al norte, que es considerada propiedad de los cananeos y de los cinco príncipes de los filisteos, es decir, de los gazeos, asdodeos, ascalonitas, guititas y ecronitas, y también de los aveos.

4 ` From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;

Al sur está toda la tierra de los cananeos, y Megará, que es de los sidonios, hasta Afec, que limita con los amorreos;

5 a nd the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath:

la tierra de los giblitas, y todo el Líbano, hacia donde sale el sol, desde Baal Gad al pie del monte Hermón, hasta la entrada de Jamat.

6 a ll the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians: I -- I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

También están todos los que habitan en las montañas, desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Mayin, y los sidonios. A todos ellos los exterminaré cuando se enfrenten a los hijos de Israel. Pero tú encárgate de repartir la tierra por sorteo entre los israelitas, porque es su herencia. Hazlo tal y como te lo he ordenado.

7 ` And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' --

Reparte esta tierra entre las nueve tribus y la media tribu de Manasés, porque es su herencia.

8 w ith it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses hath given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Jehovah hath given to them;

Los rubenitas, los gaditas y la otra media tribu de Manasés ya recibieron su herencia en la ribera oriental del Jordán. Moisés mismo, el siervo del Señor, se la dio,

9 f rom Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon,

y abarca desde Aroer, a la orilla del arroyo de Arnón, hasta Dibón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle y toda la llanura de Medeba,

10 a nd all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon,

y todas las ciudades de Sijón, rey de los amorreos, que reinó en Jesbón. Su herencia limita con las tierras de los hijos de Amón,

11 a nd Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

con Galaad y los territorios de los gesureos y de los macatitas, y todo el monte Hermón y la tierra de Basán, hasta Salca,

12 a ll the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses doth smite them, and dispossess them;

y con todo el reino de Og en Basán, que reinó en Astarot y en Edrey, y fue el último de los refaítas. Pero Moisés lo derrotó y lo arrojó de allí.»

13 a nd the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.

Pero los hijos de Israel no expulsaron de sus tierras a los gesureos ni a los macatitas, por lo que Gesur y Macá habitan entre los israelitas hasta el día de hoy. El territorio distribuido por Moisés

14 O nly, to the tribe of Levi he hath not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Jehovah, God of Israel, is its inheritance, as He hath spoken to it.

La tribu de Leví no recibió herencia, porque su herencia son los sacrificios del Señor Dios de Israel, tal y como él lo prometió.

15 A nd Moses giveth to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;

A la tribu de los hijos de Rubén les dio Moisés tierras según el número de sus familias.

16 a nd the border is to them from Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba,

Les dio Aroer, la ciudad que está en medio del valle y a orillas del arroyo de Arnón, y toda la llanura, hasta Medeba;

17 H eshbon, and all its cities which in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,

Jesbón, con las ciudades que están en la llanura; Dibón, Bamot Baal, Bet Baal Megón,

18 a nd Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

Yahás, Cademot, Mefagat,

19 a nd Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley,

Quiriatayin, Sibemá, Séret Sajar, en el monte del valle,

20 a nd Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth,

Bet Pegor, las laderas del monte Pisga, Bet Yesimot,

21 a nd all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

las ciudades de la llanura, y el reino de Sijón, rey de los amorreos, que reinó en Jesbón. Antes Moisés había derrotado a los príncipes de Madián, Evi, Requén, Sur, Jur y Reba, que eran los príncipes de Sijón que habitaban en aquella tierra.

22 A nd Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.

Los hijos de Israel mataron también a filo de espada a Balaam el adivino, hijo de Beor.

23 A nd the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and border; this the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.

El límite del territorio de los hijos de Rubén era el río Jordán. Estas ciudades y sus aldeas fueron la herencia de los hijos de Rubén, conforme al número de sus familias.

24 A nd Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;

A la tribu de los hijos de Gad les dio Moisés también su herencia, conforme al número de sus familias.

25 a nd the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which on the front of Rabbah,

El territorio que les dio fue Jazer, con las ciudades de Galaad y la mitad de la tierra de los hijos de Amón, hasta Aroer, que está frente a Rabá;

26 a nd from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,

desde Jesbón hasta Ramat Mispá y Betonín, y desde Majanayin hasta la frontera con Debir.

27 a nd in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.

En el valle les dio Bet Aram, Bet Nimrá, Sucot y Safón, que era lo que aún quedaba del reino de Sijón, rey de Jesbón, más los límites del río Jordán hasta donde termina el lago de Cineret, en la ribera oriental del Jordán.

28 T his the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.

Ésta es la herencia que Moisés dio a los hijos de Gad, con sus ciudades y aldeas, conforme al número de sus familias.

29 A nd Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.

Moisés también le dio su herencia a la media tribu de los hijos de Manasés, conforme al número de sus familias.

30 A nd their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which in Bashan, sixty cities;

Su territorio se extendía desde Majanayin, con todo el reino de Og, rey de Basán, y con las aldeas de Yaír, que están en Basán. En total, sesenta poblaciones,

31 a nd the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.

pero la mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edrey, que fueron ciudades de Og, rey de Basán. Esto fue lo que le tocó a la mitad de los hijos de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, conforme al número de sus familias.

32 T hese they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, Jericho, eastward;

Moisés repartió estas tierras en los llanos de Moab, al otro lado de Jericó, en la ribera oriental del Jordán.

33 a nd to the tribe of Levi Moses gave not an inheritance; Jehovah, God of Israel, Himself their inheritance, as He hath spoken to them.

A la tribu de Leví no le dio Moisés ninguna herencia, porque su herencia es el Señor, el Dios de Israel, tal y como él se lo había dicho.
