1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, in their drawing near before Jehovah, and they die;

Después de que los dos hijos de Aarón se acercaron al Señor y murieron, el Señor habló con Moisés

2 y ea, Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Speak unto Aaron thy brother, and he cometh not in at all times unto the sanctuary within the vail, unto the front of the mercy-seat, which upon the ark, and he dieth not, for in a cloud I am seen upon the mercy-seat.

y le dijo: «Dile a tu hermano Aarón que, para que no muera, no entre en cualquier momento en el santuario detrás del velo, es decir, el que está sobre el arca, delante del propiciatorio, porque yo me manifestaré allí en una nube.

3 ` With this doth Aaron come in unto the sanctuary; with a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering;

Aarón entrará en el santuario con un becerro para expiación y un carnero para holocausto.

4 a holy linen coat he putteth on, and linen trousers are on his flesh, and with a linen girdle he girdeth himself, and with a linen mitre he wrappeth himself up; they holy garments; and he hath bathed with water his flesh, and hath put them on.

Para esto, se pondrá la túnica santa de lino y se cubrirá con calzoncillos de lino, se ajustará el cinto de lino, y se cubrirá la cabeza con la mitra de lino. Éstas son las vestiduras sagradas, las cuales se pondrá luego de lavarse el cuerpo con agua.

5 ` And from the company of the sons of Israel he taketh two kids of the goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering;

»De la congregación de los hijos de Israel, Aarón tomará dos machos cabríos para la ofrenda de expiación, y un carnero para el holocausto.

6 a nd Aaron hath brought near the bullock of the sin-offering which is his own, and hath made atonement for himself, and for his house;

Hará traer entonces el becerro para su propia expiación, y lo ofrecerá para su propia reconciliación y la de sus familiares.

7 a nd he hath taken the two goats, and hath caused them to stand before Jehovah, at the opening of the tent of meeting.

Luego tomará los dos machos cabríos, y los ofrecerá al Señor, a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión.

8 ` And Aaron hath given lots over the two goats, one lot for Jehovah, and one lot for a goat of departure;

Echará suertes sobre los dos machos cabríos, una de ellas por el Señor y la otra por Azazel;

9 a nd Aaron hath brought near the goat on which the lot for Jehovah hath gone up, and hath made it a sin-offering.

entonces ordenará traer el macho cabrío que le haya tocado en suerte al Señor, y lo ofrecerá en expiación,

10 ` And the goat on which the lot for a goat of departure hath gone up is caused to stand living before Jehovah to make atonement by it, to send it away for a goat of departure into the wilderness.

mientras que al macho cabrío que le haya tocado en suerte a Azazel lo presentará vivo delante del Señor, para su propia reconciliación sobre él, y luego lo soltará en el desierto para que se vaya con Azazel.

11 ` And Aaron hath brought near the bullock of the sin-offering which is his own, and hath made atonement for himself, and for his house, and hath slaughtered the bullock of the sin-offering which his own,

»Luego, Aarón hará traer el becerro para su expiación y lo ofrecerá para su propia reconciliación y la de sus familiares, y luego degollará el becerro para su propia expiación.

12 a nd hath taken the fulness of the censer of burning coals of fire from off the altar, from before Jehovah, and the fulness of his hands of thin spice-perfume, and hath brought within the vail;

Tomará entonces un incensario, echará en él brasas del fuego que arde en el altar delante del Señor, y dos puñados del perfume aromático molido, y lo llevará tras el velo.

13 a nd he hath put the perfume on the fire before Jehovah, and the cloud of the perfume hath covered the mercy-seat which on the testimony, and he dieth not.

Allí, delante del Señor, echará el perfume sobre el fuego, y el humo del perfume cubrirá el propiciatorio que está sobre el testimonio. Así, Aarón no morirá.

14 ` And he hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled with his finger on the front of the mercy-seat eastward; even at the front of the mercy-seat he doth sprinkle seven times of the blood with his finger.

»Después de esto, Aarón tomará un poco de la sangre del becerro, y con el dedo la rociará siete veces hacia el oriente, en dirección al propiciatorio.

15 ` And he hath slaughtered the goat of the sin-offering which the people's, and hath brought in its blood unto the inside of the vail, and hath done with its blood as he hath done with the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled it on the mercy-seat, and at the front of the mercy-seat,

A continuación, degollará el macho cabrío como expiación por el pecado del pueblo, y llevará la sangre al interior, tras el velo, y esparcirá la sangre sobre el propiciatorio y delante de éste, como lo hizo con la sangre del becerro.

16 a nd he hath made atonement for the sanctuary because of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins; and so he doth for the tent of meeting which is tabernacling with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

Así purificará el santuario por causa de todas las impurezas, rebeliones y pecados de los hijos de Israel, y lo mismo hará con el tabernáculo de reunión, el cual se encuentra entre ellos y sus impurezas.

17 ` And no man is in the tent of meeting in his going in to make atonement in the sanctuary, till his coming out; and he hath made atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the assembly of Israel.

»Nadie debe estar en el tabernáculo de reunión mientras Aarón esté dentro del santuario para hacer la expiación y hasta que él salga. Una vez que haya hecho la expiación por sí mismo, por sus familiares y por toda la congregación de Israel,

18 ` And he hath gone out unto the altar which before Jehovah, and hath made atonement for it; and he hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and hath put on the horns of the altar round about;

saldrá para hacer la expiación por el altar que está delante del Señor. Tomará un poco de la sangre del becerro y del macho cabrío, y la untará sobre los cuernos del altar y alrededor de éste;

19 a nd he hath sprinkled on it of the blood with his finger seven times, and hath cleansed it, and hath hallowed it from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel.

luego, con el dedo rociará sobre él la sangre siete veces. Así lo santificará y lo limpiará de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel.

20 ` And he hath ceased from making atonement the sanctuary, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, and hath brought near the living goat;

»Cuando Aarón termine de hacer la expiación por el santuario, el tabernáculo de reunión y el altar, mandará traer el macho cabrío vivo,

21 a nd Aaron hath laid his two hands on the head of the living goat, and hath confessed over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, and hath put them on the head of the goat, and hath sent away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness;

pondrá las dos manos sobre la cabeza del animal, y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades, rebeliones y pecados de los hijos de Israel, y luego lo soltará en el desierto por medio de alguien destinado para ello.

22 a nd the goat hath borne on him all their iniquities unto a land of separation. `And he hath sent the goat away into the wilderness,

El macho cabrío será soltado en el desierto, llevando sobre sí a tierra inhabitada todas las iniquidades del pueblo.

23 a nd Aaron hath come in unto the tent of meeting, and hath stripped off the linen garments which he had put on in his going in unto the sanctuary, and hath placed them there;

»Después de eso, Aarón irá al tabernáculo de reunión y se quitará las vestiduras de lino que llevaba puestas al entrar en el santuario, y las dejará allí.

24 a nd he hath bathed his flesh with water in the holy place, and hath put on his garments, and hath come out, and hath made his burnt-offering, and the burnt-offering of the people, and hath made atonement for himself and for the people;

Luego, en el lugar santo se lavará el cuerpo con agua, y una vez que se vista saldrá para ofrecer su holocausto y el holocausto del pueblo, y para hacer expiación por él y por el pueblo,

25 a nd with the fat of the sin-offering he doth make perfume on the altar.

y quemará en el altar la grasa del sacrificio por el pecado.

26 ` And he who is sending away the goat for a goat of departure doth wash his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards he cometh in unto the camp.

»El que haya llevado el macho cabrío a Azazel, lavará sus vestidos y se lavará a sí mismo con agua, y después de eso podrá entrar en el campamento.

27 ` And the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood hath been brought in to make atonement in the sanctuary, doth bring out unto the outside of the camp, and they have burnt with fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung;

Entonces se sacarán del campamento el becerro y el macho cabrío inmolados por el pecado, y cuya sangre fue llevada al santuario para hacer la expiación, y se echarán al fuego su piel, su carne y su estiércol.

28 a nd he who is burning them doth wash his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards he cometh in unto the camp.

El encargado de quemar todo esto lavará sus vestidos, y se lavará a sí mismo con agua, y después de eso podrá entrar en el campamento.

29 ` And it hath been to you for a statute age-during, in the seventh month, in the tenth of the month, ye humble yourselves, and do no work -- the native, and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst;

»Éste será un estatuto perpetuo para ustedes y para los extranjeros que vivan entre ustedes: El día diez del mes séptimo deberán ayunar, y no podrán realizar ningún trabajo.

30 f or on this day he maketh atonement for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins before Jehovah ye are clean;

Ese día se hará expiación por ustedes, y así delante del Señor quedarán limpios de todos sus pecados.

31 i t to you a sabbath of rest, and ye have humbled yourselves -- a statute age-during.

Ese día será para ustedes un día de reposo y de ayuno. Es un estatuto perpetuo.

32 ` And the priest whom he doth anoint, and whose hand he doth consecrate to act as priest instead of his father, hath made atonement, and hath put on the linen garments, the holy garments;

La expiación la hará el sacerdote que haya sido ungido y consagrado como sacerdote en lugar de su padre. Se pondrá las santas vestiduras de lino

33 a nd he hath made atonement the holy sanctuary; and the tent of meeting, even the altar he doth make atonement; yea, for the priests, and for all the people of the assembly he maketh atonement.

y hará la expiación por el santo santuario y por el tabernáculo de reunión, lo mismo que por el altar y los sacerdotes, y por todo el pueblo congregado.

34 ` And this hath been to you for a statute age-during, to make atonement for the sons of Israel, because of all their sins, once in a year;' and he doth as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Esta expiación por todos los pecados de Israel se hará una vez al año, y será para ustedes un estatuto perpetuo.» Y Moisés hizo todo tal y como el Señor se lo ordenó.
