1 ` Thou dost not lift up a vain report; thou dost not put thy hand with a wicked man to be a violent witness.

»No te dejes llevar por falsos rumores. »No te dejes llevar por el impío para ser testigo falso.

2 ` Thou art not after many to evil, nor dost thou testify concerning a strife, to turn aside after many to cause to turn aside;

»No vayas tras las mayorías para actuar mal. »En un litigio, no respondas a las malas intenciones de la mayoría.

3 a nd a poor man thou dost not honour in his strife.

»No discrimines al pobre cuando pida justicia.

4 ` When thou meetest thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou dost certainly turn it back to him;

»Si encuentras el buey o el asno extraviado de tu enemigo, llévaselo.

5 w hen thou seest the ass of him who is hating thee crouching under its burden, then thou hast ceased from leaving to it -- thou dost certainly leave with him.

»Si ves que el asno del que te aborrece ha caído por el peso de su carga, no dejes de ayudarlo. Al contrario, ayúdalo a levantarse.

6 ` Thou dost not turn aside the judgment of thy needy one in his strife;

»No perviertas el derecho de los pobres cuando pidan justicia.

7 f rom a false matter thou dost keep far off, and an innocent and righteous man thou dost not slay; for I do not justify a wicked man.

»Aléjate de la mentira. »No condenes a muerte al hombre justo e inocente, porque yo no tendré por inocente al malvado.

8 ` And a bribe thou dost not take; for the bribe bindeth the open-, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

»No aceptes regalos, porque los regalos impiden ver con claridad y pervierten los actos de justicia.

9 ` And a sojourner thou dost not oppress, and ye -- ye have known the soul of the sojourner, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt.

»No oprimas al extranjero. Bien saben ustedes lo que es ser extranjero, pues extranjeros fueron en la tierra de Egipto.

10 ` And six years thou dost sow thy land, and hast gathered its increase;

»Sembrarás tu tierra y recogerás tu cosecha durante seis años,

11 a nd the seventh thou dost release it, and hast left it, and the needy of thy people have eaten, and their leaving doth the beast of the field eat; so dost thou to thy vineyard -- to thine olive-yard.

pero el séptimo año la dejarás sin sembrar, para que de ella coma la gente pobre de tu pueblo, y los animales del campo se coman lo que quede. »Lo mismo harás con tu viña y con tu olivar.

12 ` Six days thou dost do thy work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest, so that thine ox and thine ass doth rest, and the son of thine handmaid and the sojourner is refreshed;

»Trabajarás seis días, pero el séptimo día reposarás, para que descansen tu buey y tu asno, y recobren sus fuerzas tus esclavos y los extranjeros.

13 a nd in all that which I have said unto you ye do take heed; and the name of other gods ye do not mention; it is not heard on thy mouth.

»No invoquen con sus labios el nombre de otros dioses. Ni siquiera los mencionen. »Cumplan ustedes con todo lo que les he ordenado. Las tres fiestas anuales

14 ` Three times thou dost keep a feast to Me in a year;

»Celebrarás en mi honor tres fiestas en el año.

15 t he Feast of Unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at the time appointed the month of Abib; for in it thou hast come forth out of Egypt, and ye do not appear My presence empty;

Celebrarás la fiesta de los panes sin levadura. Tal y como yo te lo ordené, comerás panes sin levadura durante siete días en el mes de Aviv, que es la fecha establecida, porque en ese mes saliste de Egipto. Y nadie debe presentarse ante mí con las manos vacías.

16 a nd the Feast of Harvest, the first fruits of thy works which thou sowest in the field; and the Feast of the In-Gathering, in the outgoing of the year, in thy gathering thy works out of the field.

»Celebrarás también la fiesta de la siega, es decir, de los primeros frutos de lo que hayas sembrado en el campo; y al terminar el año, cuando hayas recogido los frutos de tus labores del campo, celebrarás la fiesta de la cosecha.

17 ` Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the face of the Lord Jehovah.

»Todo varón se presentará delante del Señor su Dios tres veces al año.

18 ` Thou dost not sacrifice on a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice, and the fat of My festival doth not remain till morning;

»No ofrecerás la sangre de mi sacrificio junto con pan leudado, ni dejarás para el día siguiente la grasa del animal que me ofrezcas.

19 t he beginning of the first-fruits of thy ground thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

»Traerás a la casa del Señor tu Dios los primeros frutos de tu tierra. »No guisarás el cabrito en la leche de su madre. El ángel del Señor guía a Israel

20 ` Lo, I am sending a messenger before thee to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee in unto the place which I have prepared;

»Como verás, voy a enviar a mi ángel para que te preceda en el camino, y te proteja y te introduzca en el lugar que te he preparado.

21 b e watchful because of his presence, and hearken to his voice, rebel not against him, for he beareth not with your transgression, for My name in his heart;

Ten mucho cuidado y escucha su voz. No le seas rebelde, porque él no les perdonará su rebelión, porque va en mi nombre.

22 f or, if thou diligently hearken to his voice, and hast done all that which I speak, then I have been at enmity with thine enemies, and have distressed those distressing thee.

»Pero si en verdad escuchas su voz y haces todo lo que yo te diga, seré enemigo de tus enemigos y afligiré a los que te aflijan.

23 ` For My messenger goeth before thee, and hath brought thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I have cut them off.

»Sí, mi ángel te precederá y te llevará a la tierra de los amorreos, hititas, ferezeos, cananeos, jivitas y jebuseos, a los que voy a destruir.

24 ` Thou dost not bow thyself to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their doings, but dost utterly devote them, and thoroughly break their standing pillars.

»No te inclinarás ante sus dioses, ni los servirás, ni harás lo que ellos hacen. Al contrario, los destruirás por completo y harás pedazos todas sus estatuas.

25 ` And ye have served Jehovah your God, and He hath blessed thy bread and thy water, and I have turned aside sickness from thine heart;

Pero me servirán a mí, el Señor su Dios, y yo bendeciré tu pan y tus aguas, y quitaré de en medio de ti toda enfermedad.

26 t here is not a miscarrying and barren one in thy land; the number of thy days I fulfil:

»No habrá en tu tierra mujer que aborte, ni estéril. Yo haré que vivas los años que debes vivir.

27 M y terror I send before thee, and I have put to death all the people among whom thou comest, and I have given the neck of all thine enemies unto thee.

Haré que mi terror te preceda, y que en todo pueblo donde entres su gente tiemble delante de ti, y que todos tus enemigos se dobleguen ante ti.

28 ` And I have sent the hornet before thee, and it hath cast out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee;

Delante de ti enviaré a la avispa, para que a tu paso despeje a los jivitas, cananeos e hititas.

29 I cast them not out from before thee in one year, lest the land be a desolation, and the beast of the field hath multiplied against thee;

No los echaré de tu presencia en un año, para que la tierra no se quede desierta ni aumenten contra ti las fieras salvajes.

30 l ittle little I cast them out from before thee, till thou art fruitful, and hast inherited the land.

Los echaré de tu presencia poco a poco, hasta que te multipliques y tomes posesión de la tierra.

31 ` And I have set thy border from the Red Sea, even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I give into your hand the inhabitants of the land, and thou hast cast them out from before thee;

Estableceré tus fronteras desde el Mar Rojo hasta el mar de los filisteos, y desde el desierto hasta el río Éufrates. Sí, pondré en tus manos a los habitantes de la tierra, y tú los arrojarás de tu presencia.

32 t hou dost not make a covenant with them, and with their gods;

»No harás alianzas con ellos ni con sus dioses.

33 t hey do not dwell in thy land, lest they cause thee to sin against Me when thou servest their gods, when it becometh a snare to thee.'

»No habitarán en tu tierra, para que no te sean de tropiezo y te hagan pecar y servir a sus dioses.»
