1 ` Thou dost not lift up a vain report; thou dost not put thy hand with a wicked man to be a violent witness.

»No admitirás falso rumor. No te pondrás de acuerdo con el malvado para ser testigo falso.

2 ` Thou art not after many to evil, nor dost thou testify concerning a strife, to turn aside after many to cause to turn aside;

»No seguirás a la mayoría para hacer mal, ni responderás en un litigio inclinándote a la mayoría para hacer agravios.

3 a nd a poor man thou dost not honour in his strife.

Tampoco favorecerás al pobre en su causa.

4 ` When thou meetest thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou dost certainly turn it back to him;

»Si encuentras el buey de tu enemigo o su asno extraviado, regresa a llevárselo.

5 w hen thou seest the ass of him who is hating thee crouching under its burden, then thou hast ceased from leaving to it -- thou dost certainly leave with him.

Si ves el asno del que te aborrece caído debajo de su carga, ¿lo dejarás sin ayuda? Antes bien le ayudarás a levantarlo.

6 ` Thou dost not turn aside the judgment of thy needy one in his strife;

»No violarás el derecho del pobre en su pleito.

7 f rom a false matter thou dost keep far off, and an innocent and righteous man thou dost not slay; for I do not justify a wicked man.

»De palabra de mentira te alejarás, y no matarás al inocente y justo, porque yo no justificaré al malvado.

8 ` And a bribe thou dost not take; for the bribe bindeth the open-, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

»No recibirás soborno, porque el soborno ciega a los que ven y pervierte las palabras de los justos.

9 ` And a sojourner thou dost not oppress, and ye -- ye have known the soul of the sojourner, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt.

»No oprimirás al extranjero, porque vosotros sabéis cómo es el alma del extranjero, ya que extranjeros fuisteis en la tierra de Egipto.

10 ` And six years thou dost sow thy land, and hast gathered its increase;

»Seis años sembrarás tu tierra y recogerás su cosecha,

11 a nd the seventh thou dost release it, and hast left it, and the needy of thy people have eaten, and their leaving doth the beast of the field eat; so dost thou to thy vineyard -- to thine olive-yard.

pero el séptimo año la dejarás libre, para que coman los pobres de tu pueblo, y de lo que quede comerán las bestias del campo. Así harás con tu viña y con tu olivar.

12 ` Six days thou dost do thy work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest, so that thine ox and thine ass doth rest, and the son of thine handmaid and the sojourner is refreshed;

»Seis días trabajarás, pero el séptimo día reposarás, para que descansen tu buey y tu asno, y tomen refrigerio el hijo de tu sierva y el extranjero.

13 a nd in all that which I have said unto you ye do take heed; and the name of other gods ye do not mention; it is not heard on thy mouth.

»Guardad todo lo que os he dicho. No invocaréis el nombre de otros dioses ni los mencionará vuestra boca. Las tres fiestas anuales

14 ` Three times thou dost keep a feast to Me in a year;

»Tres veces al año me celebraréis fiesta.

15 t he Feast of Unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at the time appointed the month of Abib; for in it thou hast come forth out of Egypt, and ye do not appear My presence empty;

La fiesta de los Panes sin levadura guardarás. Siete días comerás los panes sin levadura, como yo te mandé, en el tiempo del mes de Abib, porque en él saliste de Egipto; y ninguno se presentará ante mí con las manos vacías.

16 a nd the Feast of Harvest, the first fruits of thy works which thou sowest in the field; and the Feast of the In-Gathering, in the outgoing of the year, in thy gathering thy works out of the field.

»También la fiesta de la Siega, los primeros frutos de tus labores, de lo que hayas sembrado en el campo, y la fiesta de la Cosecha a la salida del año, cuando hayas recogido del campo los frutos de tus labores.

17 ` Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the face of the Lord Jehovah.

»Tres veces al año se presentará todo hombre delante de Jehová, el Señor.

18 ` Thou dost not sacrifice on a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice, and the fat of My festival doth not remain till morning;

»No ofrecerás con pan leudado la sangre de mi sacrificio, ni la grasa de la víctima quedará de la noche hasta la mañana.

19 t he beginning of the first-fruits of thy ground thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

»Las primicias de los primeros frutos de tu tierra traerás a la casa de Jehová, tu Dios. »No guisarás el cabrito en la leche de su madre. El ángel de Jehová enviado para guiar a Israel

20 ` Lo, I am sending a messenger before thee to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee in unto the place which I have prepared;

»Yo envío mi ángel delante de ti, para que te guarde en el camino y te introduzca en el lugar que yo he preparado.

21 b e watchful because of his presence, and hearken to his voice, rebel not against him, for he beareth not with your transgression, for My name in his heart;

Compórtate delante de él y oye su voz; no le seas rebelde, porque él no perdonará vuestra rebelión, pues mi nombre está en él.

22 f or, if thou diligently hearken to his voice, and hast done all that which I speak, then I have been at enmity with thine enemies, and have distressed those distressing thee.

Pero si en verdad oyes su voz y haces todo lo que yo te diga, seré enemigo de tus enemigos y afligiré a los que te aflijan.

23 ` For My messenger goeth before thee, and hath brought thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I have cut them off.

Mi ángel irá delante de ti y te llevará a la tierra del amorreo, del heteo, del ferezeo, del cananeo, del heveo y del jebuseo, a los cuales yo haré destruir.

24 ` Thou dost not bow thyself to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their doings, but dost utterly devote them, and thoroughly break their standing pillars.

No te inclinarás ante sus dioses ni los servirás, ni harás como ellos hacen, sino que los destruirás del todo y quebrarás totalmente sus estatuas.

25 ` And ye have served Jehovah your God, and He hath blessed thy bread and thy water, and I have turned aside sickness from thine heart;

Pero serviréis a Jehová, vuestro Dios, y él bendecirá tu pan y tus aguas. »Yo apartaré de ti toda enfermedad.

26 t here is not a miscarrying and barren one in thy land; the number of thy days I fulfil:

En tu tierra no habrá mujer que aborte ni que sea estéril, y alargaré el número de tus días.

27 M y terror I send before thee, and I have put to death all the people among whom thou comest, and I have given the neck of all thine enemies unto thee.

»Yo enviaré mi terror delante de ti; turbaré a todos los pueblos donde entres y haré que todos tus enemigos huyan delante de ti.

28 ` And I have sent the hornet before thee, and it hath cast out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee;

Enviaré delante de ti la avispa, que eche de tu presencia al heveo, al cananeo y al heteo.

29 I cast them not out from before thee in one year, lest the land be a desolation, and the beast of the field hath multiplied against thee;

No los expulsaré de tu presencia en un año, para que no quede la tierra desierta ni se multipliquen contra ti las fieras del campo.

30 l ittle little I cast them out from before thee, till thou art fruitful, and hast inherited the land.

Poco a poco los echaré de tu presencia, hasta que te multipliques y tomes posesión de la tierra.

31 ` And I have set thy border from the Red Sea, even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I give into your hand the inhabitants of the land, and thou hast cast them out from before thee;

Fijaré tus límites desde el Mar Rojo hasta el mar de los filisteos y desde el desierto hasta el Éufrates, porque pondré en tus manos a los habitantes de la tierra y tú los arrojarás de delante de ti.

32 t hou dost not make a covenant with them, and with their gods;

»No harás alianza con ellos ni con sus dioses.

33 t hey do not dwell in thy land, lest they cause thee to sin against Me when thou servest their gods, when it becometh a snare to thee.'

En tu tierra no habitarán, no sea que te hagan pecar contra mí sirviendo a sus dioses, porque te será tropiezo.»
