1 ` To the messenger of the Ephesian assembly write: These things saith he who is holding the seven stars in his right hand, who is walking in the midst of the seven lamp-stands -- the golden:

»Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Éfeso: »“El que tiene las siete estrellas en su diestra, el que camina en medio de los siete candelabros de oro, dice esto:

2 I have known thy works, and thy labour, and thy endurance, and that thou art not able to bear evil ones, and that thou hast tried those saying themselves to be apostles and are not, and hast found them liars,

»”‘Yo conozco tus obras, tu arduo trabajo y tu perseverancia, y que no puedes soportar a los malos, has probado a los que se dicen ser apóstoles y no lo son, y los has hallado mentirosos.

3 a nd thou didst bear, and hast endurance, and because of my name hast toiled, and hast not been weary.

Has sufrido, has sido perseverante, has trabajado arduamente por amor de mi nombre y no has desmayado.

4 ` But I have against thee: That thy first love thou didst leave!

Pero tengo contra ti que has dejado tu primer amor.

5 r emember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lamp-stand from its place -- if thou mayest not reform;

Recuerda, por tanto, de dónde has caído, arrepiéntete y haz las primeras obras, pues si no te arrepientes, pronto vendré a ti y quitaré tu candelabro de su lugar.

6 b ut this thou hast, that thou dost hate the works of the Nicolaitans, that I also hate.

Pero tienes esto: que aborreces las obras de los nicolaítas, las cuales yo también aborrezco.

7 H e who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming -- I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God.

El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al vencedor le daré a comer del árbol de la vida, que está en medio del paraíso de Dios.’” El mensaje a Esmirna

8 ` And to the messenger of the assembly of the Smyrneans write: These things saith the First and the Last, who did become dead and did live;

»Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Esmirna: »“El primero y el postrero, el que estuvo muerto y vivió, dice esto:

9 I have known thy works, and tribulation, and poverty -- yet thou art rich -- and the evil-speaking of those saying themselves to be Jews, and are not, but a synagogue of the Adversary.

»”‘Yo conozco tus obras, tu tribulación, tu pobreza (aunque eres rico) y la blasfemia de los que dicen ser judíos y no lo son, sino que son sinagoga de Satanás.

10 ` Be not afraid of the things that thou art about to suffer; lo, the devil is about to cast of you to prison, that ye may be tried, and ye shall have tribulation ten days; become thou faithful unto death, and I will give to thee the crown of the life.

No temas lo que has de padecer. El diablo echará a algunos de vosotros en la cárcel para que seáis probados, y tendréis tribulación por diez días. ¡Sé fiel hasta la muerte y yo te daré la corona de la vida!

11 H e who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: He who is overcoming may not be injured of the second death.

El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. El vencedor no sufrirá daño de la segunda muerte.’” El mensaje a Pérgamo

12 ` And to the messenger of the assembly in Pergamos write: These things saith he who is having the sharp two-edged sword:

»Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Pérgamo: »“El que tiene la espada aguda de dos filos dice esto:

13 I have known thy works, and where thou dost dwell -- where the throne of the Adversary -- and thou dost hold fast my name, and thou didst not deny my faith, even in the days in which Antipas my faithful witness, who was put to death beside you, where the Adversary doth dwell.

»”‘Yo conozco tus obras y dónde habitas: donde está el trono de Satanás. Pero retienes mi nombre y no has negado mi fe ni aun en los días en que Antipas, mi testigo fiel, fue muerto entre vosotros, donde habita Satanás.

14 ` But I have against thee a few things: That thou hast there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who did teach Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol-sacrifices, and to commit whoredom;

Pero tengo unas pocas cosas contra ti: que tienes ahí a los que retienen la doctrina de Balaam, que enseñaba a Balac a poner tropiezo ante los hijos de Israel, a comer de cosas sacrificadas a los ídolos y a cometer fornicación.

15 s o hast thou, even thou, those holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans -- which thing I hate.

Y también tienes a los que retienen la doctrina de los nicolaítas, la que yo aborrezco.

16 ` Reform! and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Por tanto, arrepiéntete, pues si no, vendré pronto hasta ti y pelearé contra ellos con la espada de mi boca.

17 H e who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming, I will give to him to eat from the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, that no one knew except him who is receiving.

El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al vencedor le daré de comer del maná escondido, y le daré una piedrecita blanca y en la piedrecita un nombre nuevo escrito, el cual nadie conoce sino el que lo recibe.’” El mensaje a Tiatira

18 ` And to the messenger of the assembly of Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who is having his eyes as a flame of fire, and his feet like to fine brass;

»Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Tiatira: »“El Hijo de Dios, el que tiene ojos como llama de fuego y pies semejantes al bronce pulido, dice esto:

19 I have known thy works, and love, and ministration, and faith, and thy endurance, and thy works -- and the last more than the first.

»”‘Yo conozco tus obras, tu amor, tu fe, tu servicio, tu perseverancia y que tus obras postreras son superiores a las primeras.

20 ` But I have against thee a few things: That thou dost suffer the woman Jezebel, who is calling herself a prophetess, to teach, and to lead astray, my servants to commit whoredom, and idol-sacrifices to eat;

Pero tengo contra ti que toleras que esa mujer Jezabel, que se dice profetisa, enseñe y seduzca a mis siervos para fornicar y para comer cosas sacrificadas a los ídolos.

21 a nd I did give to her a time that she might reform from her whoredom, and she did not reform;

Yo le he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta, pero no quiere arrepentirse de su fornicación.

22 l o, I will cast her into a couch, and those committing adultery with her into great tribulation -- if they may not repent of their works,

Por tanto, yo la arrojo en cama; y en gran tribulación a los que adulteran con ella, si no se arrepienten de las obras de ella.

23 a nd her children I will kill in death, and know shall all the assemblies that I am he who is searching reins and hearts; and I will give to you -- to each -- according to your works.

A sus hijos heriré de muerte y todas las iglesias sabrán que yo soy el que escudriña la mente y el corazón. Os daré a cada uno según vuestras obras.

24 ` And to you I say, and to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, and who did not know the depths of the Adversary, as they say; I will not put upon you other burden;

Pero a los demás que están en Tiatira, a cuantos no tienen esa doctrina y no han conocido lo que ellos llaman ‘las profundidades de Satanás’, yo os digo: No os impongo otra carga;

25 b ut that which ye have -- hold ye, till I may come;

pero lo que tenéis, retenedlo hasta que yo venga.

26 a nd he who is overcoming, and who is keeping unto the end my works, I will give to him authority over the nations,

Al vencedor que guarde mis obras hasta el fin, yo le daré autoridad sobre las naciones;

27 a nd he shall rule them with a rod of iron -- as the vessels of the potter they shall be broken -- as I also have received from my Father;

las regirá con vara de hierro y serán quebradas como un vaso de alfarero; como yo también la he recibido de mi Padre.

28 a nd I will give to him the morning star.

Y le daré la estrella de la mañana.

29 H e who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies.

El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias.’”
