1 A nd the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

Cuando llegó el séptimo mes, y ya establecidos los hijos de Israel en las ciudades, se congregó el pueblo como un solo hombre en Jerusalén.

2 A nd rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

Entonces se levantaron Jesúa hijo de Josadac, con sus hermanos los sacerdotes, y Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, con sus hermanos, y edificaron el altar del Dios de Israel, para ofrecer sobre él holocaustos, como está escrito en la ley de Moisés, varón de Dios.

3 A nd they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

Colocaron el altar firme sobre su base, porque tenían miedo de la gente de la región, y ofrecieron sobre él holocaustos a Jehová, los holocaustos de la mañana y de la tarde.

4 A nd they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

Celebraron asimismo la fiesta solemne de los Tabernáculos, como está escrito, y los holocaustos cotidianos, según el rito de cada día;

5 a nd after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

además de esto, el holocausto continuo, las nuevas lunas, todas las fiestas solemnes de Jehová, todo sacrificio espontáneo y toda ofrenda voluntaria a Jehová.

6 F rom the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

Desde el primer día del séptimo mes comenzaron a ofrecer holocaustos a Jehová, aunque los cimientos del templo de Jehová no se habían echado todavía.

7 a nd they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

Luego dieron dinero a los albañiles y carpinteros; asimismo comida, bebida y aceite a los sidonios y tirios para que trajeran por mar madera de cedro desde el Líbano hasta Jope, conforme a la autorización de Ciro, rey de Persia, acerca de esto. Los cimientos del Templo

8 A nd in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

En el segundo año de su venida a la casa de Dios en Jerusalén, en el segundo mes, comenzaron la obra Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, Jesúa hijo de Josadac, con el resto de sus hermanos, los sacerdotes y los levitas, y todos los que habían regresado a Jerusalén de la cautividad; y pusieron a los levitas mayores de veinte años a dirigir la obra de la casa de Jehová.

9 A nd Jeshua standeth, his sons, and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, sons of Judah together, to overlook those doing the work in the house of God; the sons of Henadad, their sons and their brethren the Levites.

También Jesúa, sus hijos y sus hermanos, Cadmiel y sus hijos, hijos de Judá, como un solo hombre, se pusieron a dirigir a los que hacían la obra en la casa de Dios, junto con los hijos de Henadad, sus hijos y sus hermanos levitas.

10 A nd those building have founded the temple of Jehovah, and they appoint the priests, clothed, with trumpets, and the Levites, sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, by means of David king of Israel.

Cuando los albañiles del templo de Jehová echaron los cimientos, se pusieron en pie los sacerdotes, vestidos de sus ropas y con trompetas, y los levitas hijos de Asaf con címbalos, para alabar a Jehová, según la ordenanza de David, rey de Israel.

11 A nd they respond in praising and in giving thanks to Jehovah, for good, for to the age His kindness over Israel, and all the people have shouted -- a great shout -- in giving praise to Jehovah, because the house of Jehovah hath been founded.

Cantaban, alabando y dando gracias a Jehová, y decían: «Porque él es bueno, porque para siempre es su misericordia sobre Israel.» Todo el pueblo aclamaba con gran júbilo y alababa a Jehová porque se echaban los cimientos de la casa de Jehová.

12 A nd many of the priests, and the Levites, and the heads of the fathers, the aged men who had seen the first house -- in this house being founded before their eyes -- are weeping with a loud voice, and many with a shout, in joy, lifting up the voice;

Muchos de los sacerdotes, levitas y jefes de familia, ancianos que habían visto la primera casa, al ver como echaban los cimientos de esta casa, lloraban en alta voz, mientras otros muchos daban grandes gritos de alegría.

13 a nd the people are not discerning the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people are shouting -- a great shout -- and the noise hath been heard unto a distance.

No se podía distinguir el clamor de los gritos de alegría de las voces del llanto, porque clamaba el pueblo con gran júbilo y el ruido se oía hasta de lejos.
