1 T he word that hath been unto Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, -- it the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, --

Palabra que vino a Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual era el año primero de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia;

2 W hich Jeremiah the prophet hath spoken concerning all the people of Judah, even unto all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:

la cual habló el profeta Jeremías a todo el pueblo de Judá y a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén, diciendo:

3 ` From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day -- this three and twentieth year -- hath the word of Jehovah been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and ye have not hearkened;

«Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, ha venido a mí palabra de Jehová, y he hablado desde el principio y sin cesar, pero no escuchasteis.

4 A nd Jehovah hath sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:

Y envió Jehová a vosotros a todos sus siervos los profetas. Los envió desde el principio y sin cesar; pero no escuchasteis ni inclinasteis vuestro oído para escuchar

5 ` Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Jehovah hath given to you and to your fathers from age unto age,

cuando decían: “Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y habitaréis en la tierra que os dio Jehová a vosotros y a vuestros padres para siempre.

6 A nd ye do not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do ye provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;

Pero no vayáis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndolos y adorándolos, ni me provoquéis a ira con la obra de vuestras manos, y no os haré mal.”

7 A nd ye have not hearkened unto Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

Pero no me habéis escuchado, dice Jehová, sino que me habéis provocado a ira con la obra de vuestras manos para vuestro propio mal.

8 ` Therefore thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Because that ye have not obeyed My words,

»Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Por cuanto no habéis escuchado mis palabras,

9 L o, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes age-during.

yo enviaré y tomaré a todas las tribus del norte, dice Jehová, y a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y los traeré contra esta tierra y contra sus habitantes, y contra todas estas naciones en derredor. Los destruiré, y los pondré por espanto, por burla y desolación perpetua.

10 A nd I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps.

Haré que desaparezca de entre ellos la voz del gozo y la voz de la alegría, la voz del novio y la voz de la novia, el ruido del molino y la luz de la lámpara.

11 A nd all this land hath been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years.

Toda esta tierra será convertida en ruinas y en espanto; y servirán estas naciones al rey de Babilonia durante setenta años.

12 ` And it hath come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations age-during.

Y cuando se hayan cumplido los setenta años, dice Jehová, castigaré al rey de Babilonia y a aquella nación, por su maldad, y a la tierra de los caldeos; y la convertiré en desolación perpetua.

13 A nd I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, that Jeremiah hath prophesied concerning all the nations.

Traeré sobre aquella tierra todas mis palabras que he hablado contra ella, con todo lo que está escrito en este libro, profetizado por Jeremías contra todas las naciones.

14 F or laid service on them -- also them -- have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands.

Porque también ellas estarán sometidas a muchas naciones y a grandes reyes; y yo les pagaré conforme a sus hechos y conforme a la obra de sus manos.» La copa de ira para las naciones

15 ` For thus said Jehovah God of Israel unto me, Take the wine cup of this fury out of My hand, and thou hast caused all the nations to drink it unto whom I am sending thee;

Así me dijo Jehová, Dios de Israel: «Toma de mi mano la copa del vino de este furor, y haz que beban de ella todas las naciones a las cuales yo te envío.

16 A nd they have drunk, and shaken themselves and shewn themselves foolish, because of the sword that I am sending among them.

Beberán, y temblarán y enloquecerán a causa de la espada que yo envío entre ellas.»

17 ` And I take the cup out of the hand of Jehovah, and cause all the nations to drink unto whom Jehovah sent me:

Yo tomé la copa de la mano de Jehová, y di de beber a todas las naciones a las cuales me envió Jehová:

18 J erusalem, and the cities of Judah, And its kings, its heads, To give them to waste, to astonishment, To hissing, and to reviling, as this day.

a Jerusalén, a las ciudades de Judá, a sus reyes y a sus príncipes, para convertirlos en ruinas, en espanto, en burla y en maldición, como hasta hoy;

19 P haraoh king of Egypt, and his servants, And his heads, and all his people,

al faraón, rey de Egipto, a sus servidores, a sus príncipes y a todo su pueblo;

20 A nd all the mixed people, And all the kings of the land of Uz, And all the kings of the land of the Philistines, And Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and Ekron, And the remnant of Ashdod,

y a todo el conjunto de naciones, a todos los reyes de tierra de Uz y a todos los reyes de la tierra de Filistea: de Ascalón, Gaza, Ecrón y el resto de Asdod;

21 E dom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,

de Edom, Moab y los hijos de Amón;

22 A nd all the kings of Tyre, And all the kings of Zidon, And the kings of the isle that beyond the sea,

a todos los reyes de Tiro, a todos los reyes de Sidón, a los reyes de las costas que están de ese lado del mar:

23 D edan, and Tema, and Buz, And all cutting the corners,

Dedán, Tema y Buz, y todos los que se rapan las sienes;

24 A nd all the kings of Arabia, And all the kings of the mixed people, Who are dwelling in the wilderness,

a todos los reyes de Arabia, a todos los reyes del conjunto de pueblos que habitan en el desierto;

25 A nd all the kings of Zimri, And all the kings of Elam, And all the kings of Media,

a todos los reyes de Zimri, a todos los reyes de Elam, a todos los reyes de Media;

26 A nd all the kings of the north, The near and the far off, one unto another, And all the kingdoms of the earth, That on the face of the ground, And king Sheshach drinketh after them.

a todos los reyes del norte, los de cerca y los de lejos, a los unos y a los otros, y a todos los reinos del mundo que están sobre la faz de la tierra. Y el rey de Babilonia beberá después de ellos.

27 A nd thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts God of Israel, Drink ye, yea drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and rise not, Because of the sword that I am sending among you.

«Les dirás, pues: “Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: ¡Bebed, embriagaos y vomitad; caed y no os levantéis, a causa de la espada que yo envío entre vosotros!”

28 A nd it hath come to pass, When they refuse to receive the cup out of thy hand to drink, That thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Ye do certainly drink.

Y si no quieren tomar la copa de tu mano para beber, tú les dirás: “Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Tenéis que beberla,

29 F or lo, in the city over which My name is called, I am beginning to do evil, And ye -- ye are entirely acquitted! Ye are not acquitted, for a sword I am proclaiming, For all inhabitants of the land, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

porque yo comienzo a causarle mal a la ciudad en la cual es invocado mi nombre, ¿y vosotros seréis absueltos? ¡No seréis absueltos, porque espada traigo sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra!”, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

30 A nd thou, thou dost prophesy unto them all these words, and hast said unto them: Jehovah from the high place doth roar, And from His holy habitation giveth forth His voice, He surely roareth for His habitation, A shout as of treaders down, God answereth all the inhabitants of the land,

»Tú, pues, profetizarás contra ellos todas estas palabras. Les dirás: »“Jehová ruge desde lo alto, y desde su morada santa da su voz; ruge fuertemente contra su redil; canción de lagareros canta contra todos los moradores de la tierra.

31 W asting hath come unto the end of the earth, For a controversy hath Jehovah with nations, He hath executed judgment for all flesh, The wicked! He hath given them to the sword, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Llega el estruendo hasta el fin de la tierra, porque Jehová está en pleito contra las naciones; él es el Juez de todo mortal y entregará a los impíos a la espada, dice Jehová.”»

32 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, evil is going out from nation to nation, And a great whirlwind is stirred up from the sides of the earth.

Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: «Ciertamente el mal irá de nación en nación, y una gran tempestad se levantará desde los extremos de la tierra.»

33 A nd the pierced of Jehovah have been in that day, From the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth, They are not lamented, nor gathered, nor buried, For dung on the face of the ground they are.

Yacerán los muertos de Jehová en aquel día desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro; no se hará lamentación, ni se recogerán ni serán enterrados, sino que como estiércol quedarán sobre la faz de la tierra.

34 H owl, ye shepherds, and cry, And roll yourselves, ye honourable of the flock, For full have been your days, For slaughtering, and your scatterings, And ye have fallen as a desirable vessel.

¡Aullad, pastores! ¡Gritad! ¡Revolcaos en el polvo, mayorales del rebaño!, porque se han cumplido vuestros días para que seáis degollados y esparcidos. Caeréis como vaso precioso.

35 A nd perished hath refuge from the shepherds, And escape from the honourable of the flock.

Se acabará el asilo para los pastores, y no escaparán los mayorales del rebaño.

36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, And a howling of the honourable of the flock, For Jehovah is spoiling their pasture.

¡Voz de la gritería de los pastores, y aullido de los mayorales del rebaño!, porque Jehová asoló sus pastizales.

37 A nd the peaceable habitations have been cut down, Because of the fierceness of the anger of Jehovah.

Los pastos delicados serán destruidos por el ardor de la ira de Jehová.

38 H e hath forsaken, as a young lion, His covert, Surely their land hath become a desolation, Because of the oppressing fierceness, And because of the fierceness of His anger!

Dejó cual leoncillo su guarida, pues asolada fue la tierra de ellos por la ira del opresor, por el furor de su ira.
