1 A nd they journey from Elim, and all the company of the sons of Israel come in unto the wilderness of Sin, which between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month of their going out from the land of Egypt.

Partió luego de Elim toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, y llegó al desierto de Sin, que está entre Elim y Sinaí, a los quince días del segundo mes después de su salida de la tierra de Egipto.

2 A nd all the company of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;

En el desierto, toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel murmuró contra Moisés y Aarón.

3 a nd the sons of Israel say unto them, `Oh that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the flesh-pot, in our eating bread to satiety -- for ye have brought us out unto this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.'

Los hijos de Israel les decían: —Ojalá hubiéramos muerto a manos de Jehová en la tierra de Egipto, cuando nos sentábamos ante las ollas de carne, cuando comíamos pan hasta saciarnos, pues nos habéis sacado a este desierto para matar de hambre a toda esta multitud.

4 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, I am raining to you bread from the heavens -- and the people have gone out and gathered the matter of a day in its day -- so that I try them whether they walk in My law, or not;

Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Mira, yo os haré llover pan del cielo. El pueblo saldrá y recogerá diariamente la porción de un día, para que yo lo pruebe si anda en mi ley, o no.

5 a nd it hath been on the sixth day, that they have prepared that which they bring in, and it hath been double above that which they gather day day.'

Pero en el sexto día se prepararán para guardar el doble de lo que suelen recoger cada día.

6 A nd Moses saith -- Aaron also -- unto all the sons of Israel, `Evening -- and ye have known that Jehovah hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

Entonces dijeron Moisés y Aarón a todos los hijos de Israel: —En la tarde sabréis que Jehová os ha sacado de la tierra de Egipto,

7 a nd morning -- and ye have seen the honour of Jehovah, in His hearing your murmurings against Jehovah, and what we, that ye murmur against us?'

y por la mañana veréis la gloria de Jehová, porque él ha oído vuestras murmuraciones contra Jehová; pues ¿qué somos nosotros para que murmuréis contra nosotros?

8 A nd Moses saith, `In Jehovah's giving to you in the evening flesh to eat, and bread in the morning to satiety -- in Jehovah's hearing your murmurings, which ye are murmuring against Him, and what we? your murmurings not against us, but against Jehovah.'

Y Moisés añadió: —Jehová os dará por la tarde carne para comer, y por la mañana pan hasta saciaros, porque Jehová ha oído lo que habéis murmurado contra él; pues ¿qué somos nosotros? Vuestras murmuraciones no son contra nosotros, sino contra Jehová.

9 A nd Moses saith unto Aaron, `Say unto all the company of the sons of Israel, Come ye near before Jehovah, for He hath heard your murmurings;'

Luego dijo Moisés a Aarón: —Di a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel: “Acercaos a la presencia de Jehová, porque él ha oído vuestras murmuraciones.”

10 a nd it cometh to pass, when Aaron is speaking unto all the company of the sons of Israel, that they turn towards the wilderness, and lo, the honour of Jehovah is seen in the cloud.

Mientras Aarón hablaba a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, ellos miraron hacia el desierto, y vieron que la gloria de Jehová aparecía en la nube.

11 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Y Jehová dijo a Moisés:

12 ` I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel; speak unto them, saying, Between the evenings ye eat flesh, and in the morning ye are satisfied bread, and ye have known that I Jehovah your God.'

—Yo he oído las murmuraciones de los hijos de Israel. Háblales y diles: “Al caer la tarde comeréis carne, y por la mañana os saciaréis de pan. Así sabréis que yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios.”

13 A nd it cometh to pass in the evening, that the quail cometh up, and covereth the camp, and in the morning there hath been the lying of dew round about the camp,

Al llegar la tarde, subieron codornices que cubrieron el campamento, y por la mañana descendió rocío alrededor del campamento.

14 a nd the lying of the dew goeth up, and lo, on the face of the wilderness a thin, bare thing, thin as hoar-frost on the earth.

Cuando el rocío cesó de descender, apareció sobre la faz del desierto una cosa menuda, redonda, menuda como escarcha sobre la tierra.

15 A nd the sons of Israel see, and say one unto another, `What it?' for they have not known what it; and Moses saith unto them, `It the bread which Jehovah hath given to you for food.

Al verlo, los hijos de Israel se dijeron unos a otros: «¿Qué es esto?», porque no sabían qué era. Entonces Moisés les dijo: —Es el pan que Jehová os da para comer.

16 ` This the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Gather of it each according to his eating, an omer for a poll; and the number of your persons, take ye each for those in his tent.'

Esto es lo que Jehová ha mandado: Recoged de él cada uno según lo que pueda comer, un gomer por cabeza, conforme al número de personas en su familia; tomaréis cada uno para los que están en su tienda.

17 A nd the sons of Israel do so, and they gather, he who is much, and he who is little;

Los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así, y recogieron unos más, otros menos.

18 a nd they measure with an omer, and he who is much hath nothing over, and he who is little hath no lack, each according to his eating they have gathered.

Lo medían por gomer, y no sobró al que había recogido mucho, ni faltó al que había recogido poco; cada uno recogió conforme a lo que había de comer.

19 A nd Moses saith unto them, `Let no man leave of it till morning;'

Luego les dijo Moisés: —Ninguno deje nada de ello para mañana.

20 a nd they have not hearkened unto Moses, and some of them do leave of it till morning, and it bringeth up worms and stinketh; and Moses is wroth with them.

Pero ellos no obedecieron a Moisés, sino que algunos dejaron algo para el otro día; pero crió gusanos, y apestaba. Y se enojó con ellos Moisés.

21 A nd they gather it morning by morning, each according to his eating; when the sun hath been warm, then it hath melted.

Lo recogían cada mañana, cada uno según lo que había de comer; y luego que el sol calentaba, se derretía.

22 A nd it cometh to pass on the sixth day, they have gathered a second bread, two omers for one, and all the princes of the company come in, and declare to Moses.

En el sexto día recogieron doble porción de comida, dos gomeres para cada uno. Todos los príncipes de la congregación fueron y se lo hicieron saber a Moisés.

23 A nd he saith unto them, `It that which Jehovah hath spoken; a rest -- a holy sabbath to Jehovah -- to-morrow; that which ye bake, bake; and that which ye boil, boil; and all that is over, let rest for yourselves in charge till the morning.'

Él les dijo: —Esto es lo que ha dicho Jehová: “Mañana es sábado, el día de reposo consagrado a Jehová; lo que tengáis que cocer, cocedlo hoy, y lo que tengáis que cocinar, cocinadlo; y todo lo que os sobre, guardadlo para mañana.”

24 A nd they let it rest until the morning, as Moses hath commanded, and it hath not stank, and a worm hath not been in it.

Ellos lo guardaron hasta el día siguiente, según lo que Moisés había mandado, y no se agusanó ni apestó.

25 A nd Moses saith, `Eat it to-day, for to-day a sabbath to Jehovah; to-day ye find it not in the field:

Entonces dijo Moisés: —Comedlo hoy, porque hoy es sábado dedicado a Jehová; hoy no hallaréis nada en el campo.

26 s ix days ye do gather it, and in the seventh day -- the sabbath -- in it there is none.'

Seis días lo recogeréis, pero el séptimo día, que es sábado, nada se hallará.

27 A nd it cometh to pass on the seventh day, some of the people have gone out to gather, and have not found.

Aconteció que algunos del pueblo salieron en el séptimo día a recoger, y no hallaron nada.

28 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `How long have ye refused to keep My commands, and My laws?

Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: —¿Hasta cuándo os negaréis a guardar mis mandamientos y mis leyes?

29 s ee, because Jehovah hath given to you the sabbath, therefore He is giving to you on the sixth day bread of two days; abide ye each his place, no one doth go out from his place on the seventh day.'

Mirad que Jehová os dio el sábado, y por eso en el sexto día os da pan para dos días. Quédese, pues, cada uno en su lugar, y nadie salga de él en el séptimo día.

30 A nd the people rest on the seventh day,

Así el pueblo reposó el séptimo día.

31 a nd the house of Israel call its name Manna, and it as coriander seed, white; and its taste as a cake with honey.

La casa de Israel lo llamó «maná»; era como una semilla de culantro, blanco, y su sabor como de hojuelas con miel.

32 A nd Moses saith, `This the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Fill the omer with it, for a charge for your generations, so that they see the bread which I have caused you to eat in the wilderness, in My bringing you out from the land of Egypt.'

Después dijo Moisés: —Esto es lo que Jehová ha mandado: “Llenad un gomer de él y guardadlo para vuestros descendientes, a fin de que vean el pan que yo os di a comer en el desierto, cuando yo os saqué de la tierra de Egipto.”

33 A nd Moses saith unto Aaron, `Take one pot, and put there the fulness of the omer of manna, and let it rest before Jehovah, for a charge for your generations;'

A Aarón dijo Moisés: —Toma una vasija, pon en ella un gomer de maná y colócalo delante de Jehová, a fin de que sea guardado para vuestros descendientes.

34 a s Jehovah hath given commandment unto Moses, so doth Aaron let it rest before the Testimony, for a charge.

Aarón lo puso delante del Testimonio para guardarlo, tal como Jehová lo mandó a Moisés.

35 A nd the sons of Israel have eaten the manna forty years, until their coming in unto the land to be inhabited; the manna they have eaten till their coming in unto the extremity of the land of Canaan.

Así comieron los hijos de Israel maná durante cuarenta años, hasta que llegaron a tierra habitada; maná comieron hasta que llegaron a los límites de la tierra de Canaán.

36 a nd the omer is a tenth of the ephah.

Un gomer es la décima parte de un efa.
