1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

2 ` Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

«Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el monte Seir y profetiza contra él,

3 a nd thou hast said to it: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I against thee, O mount Seir, And have stretched out My hand against thee, And made thee a desolation and an astonishment.

diciendo: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: »”He aquí, yo estoy contra ti, monte Seir; extenderé mi mano contra ti y te convertiré en un desierto desolado.

4 T hy cities a waste I make, and thou art a desolation, And thou hast known that I Jehovah.

Tus ciudades asolaré, quedarás desolado y sabrás que yo soy Jehová.

5 B ecause of thy having an enmity age-during, And thou dost saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end:

»”Por cuanto tuviste enemistad perpetua y entregaste a los hijos de Israel al poder de la espada en el tiempo de su aflicción, en el tiempo en que su maldad fue consumada,

6 T herefore, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Surely for blood I do appoint thee, And blood doth pursue thee, If blood thou hast not hated, Blood also doth pursue thee.

por eso, vivo yo, dice Jehová, el Señor, que a sangre te destinaré y sangre te perseguirá. Porque no aborreciste la sangre, sangre te perseguirá.

7 A nd I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning,

Convertiré el monte Seir en desierto desolado, y eliminaré de él al que salga y al que entre.

8 A nd filled his mountains with his wounded, Thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them.

Llenaré sus montes con sus muertos; en tus collados, en tus valles y en todos tus arroyos caerán los muertos a espada.

9 D esolations age-during I make thee, And thy cities do not return, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

Yo te pondré en perpetua desolación, y tus ciudades nunca más se restaurarán. Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

10 B ecause of thy saying: The two nations and the two lands are mine, and we have possessed it, And Jehovah hath been there;

»”Por cuanto dijiste: ‘Las dos naciones y las dos tierras serán mías, y tomaré posesión de ellas’, estando allí Jehová;

11 T herefore, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, And I have done according to thine anger, And according to thine envy, With which thou hast wrought, Because of thy hatred against them, And I have been known among them when I judge thee.

por eso, vivo yo, dice Jehová, el Señor, que yo haré conforme a tu ira y conforme a tu celo con que procediste, a causa de tus enemistades con ellos; y seré conocido en ellos cuando te juzgue.

12 A nd thou hast known that I -- Jehovah, I have heard all thy despisings that thou hast spoken Against mountains of Israel, saying: A desolation, to us they were given for food.

Y sabrás que yo, Jehová, he oído todas tus injurias que proferiste contra los montes de Israel, diciendo: ‘¡Destruidos son, nos han sido dados para que los devoremos!’

13 A nd ye magnify yourselves against Me with your mouth, And have made abundant against Me your words, I -- I have heard.

Y os engrandecisteis contra mí con vuestra boca, y multiplicasteis contra mí vuestras palabras. ¡Yo lo oí!

14 T hus said the Lord Jehovah: According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of thee.

Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Para que toda la tierra se regocije, yo te convertiré en una desolación.

15 A ccording to thy joy at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, So I do to thee -- a desolation thou art, O mount Seir, and all Edom -- all of it, And they have known that I Jehovah!

Como te alegraste sobre la heredad de la casa de Israel, porque fue asolada, así haré contigo: ¡asolado será el monte Seir, y todo Edom, todo él! Y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.”
