1 A nd it cometh to pass after the death of Moses, servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah speaketh unto Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, saying,

Aconteció después de la muerte de Moisés, siervo de Jehová, que Jehová habló a Josué hijo de Nun, servidor de Moisés, y le dijo:

2 ` Moses my servant is dead, and now, rise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.

«Mi siervo Moisés ha muerto. Ahora, pues, levántate y pasa este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, hacia la tierra que yo les doy a los hijos de Israel.

3 ` Every place on which the sole of your foot treadeth, to you I have given it, as I have spoken unto Moses.

Yo os he entregado, tal como lo dije a Moisés, todos los lugares que pisen las plantas de vuestros pies.

4 F rom this wilderness and Lebanon, and unto the great river, the river Phrath, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great Sea -- the going in of the sun -- is your border.

Desde el desierto y el Líbano hasta el gran río Éufrates, toda la tierra de los heteos hasta el Mar Grande donde se pone el sol, será vuestro territorio.

5 ` No man doth station himself before thee all days of thy life; as I have been with Moses, I am with thee, I do not fail thee, nor forsake thee;

Nadie podrá hacerte frente en todos los días de tu vida: como estuve con Moisés, estaré contigo; no te dejaré ni te desampararé.

6 b e strong and courageous, for thou -- thou dost cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.

Esfuérzate y sé valiente, porque tú repartirás a este pueblo como heredad la tierra que juré dar a sus padres.

7 ` Only, be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded thee; thou dost not turn aside from it right or left, so that thou dost act wisely in every whither thou goest;

Solamente esfuérzate y sé muy valiente, cuidando de obrar conforme a toda la Ley que mi siervo Moisés te mandó; no te apartes de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendas.

8 t he book of this law doth not depart out of thy mouth, and thou hast meditated in it by day and by night, so that thou dost observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou dost cause thy way to prosper, and then thou dost act wisely.

Nunca se apartará de tu boca este libro de la Ley, sino que de día y de noche meditarás en él, para que guardes y hagas conforme a todo lo que está escrito en él, porque entonces harás prosperar tu camino y todo te saldrá bien.

9 ` Have not I commanded thee? be strong and courageous; be not terrified nor affrighted, for with thee Jehovah thy God in every whither thou goest.'

Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová, tu Dios, estará contigo dondequiera que vayas.»

10 A nd Joshua commandeth the authorities of the people, saying,

Entonces Josué dio esta orden a los oficiales del pueblo:

11 ` Pass over into the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare for yourselves provision, for within three days ye are passing over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you to possess it.'

«Id por el campamento y dad esta orden al pueblo: “Preparaos comida, porque dentro de tres días pasaréis el Jordán para entrar a poseer la tierra que Jehová, vuestro Dios, os da en posesión.”»

12 A nd to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh, hath Joshua spoken, saying,

También habló Josué a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y les dijo:

13 ` Remember the word which Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God is giving rest to you, and He hath given to you this land;

—Acordaos de lo que os mandó Moisés, siervo de Jehová, cuando dijo: “Jehová, vuestro Dios, os ha dado reposo, y os ha dado esta tierra.

14 y our wives, your infants, and your substance, abide in the land which Moses hath given to you beyond the Jordan, and ye -- ye pass over by fifties, before your brethren, all the mighty ones of valour, and have helped them,

Vuestras mujeres, vuestros niños y vuestros ganados quedarán en la tierra que Moisés os ha dado a este lado del Jordán; pero vosotros, todos los valientes y fuertes, pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos, y los ayudaréis

15 t ill that Jehovah giveth rest to your brethren as to yourselves, and they have possessed, even they, the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them; then ye have turned back to the land of your possession, and have possessed it, which Moses, servant of Jehovah, hath given to you beyond the Jordan, the sun-rising.'

hasta tanto Jehová les haya dado reposo igual que a vosotros, y ellos también posean la tierra que Jehová, vuestro Dios, les da. Después volveréis a la tierra de vuestra herencia, la cual Moisés, siervo de Jehová, os ha dado a este lado del Jordán, hacia donde nace el sol, y entraréis en posesión de ella.”

16 A nd they answer Joshua, saying, `All that thou hast commanded us we do; and unto every whither thou dost send us, we go;

Entonces ellos respondieron a Josué: —Nosotros haremos todas las cosas que nos has mandado, e iremos adondequiera que nos mandes.

17 a ccording to all that we hearkened unto Moses, so we hearken unto thee; surely Jehovah thy God is with thee as He hath been with Moses.

De la manera que obedecimos a Moisés en todas las cosas, así te obedeceremos a ti; solamente que Jehová, tu Dios, esté contigo, como estuvo con Moisés.

18 A ny man who doth provoke thy mouth, and doth not hear thy words, in all that thou dost command him, is put to death; only, be strong and courageous.'

Cualquiera que sea rebelde a tu mandamiento y no obedezca tus órdenes en todas las cosas que le mandes, que muera. Tú, solamente esfuérzate y sé valiente.
