2 I have sunk in deep mire, And there is no standing, I have come into the depths of the waters, And a flood hath overflown me.

Estoy hundido en cieno profundo, donde no puedo hacer pie; he llegado hasta lo profundo de las aguas y la corriente me arrastra.

3 I have been wearied with my calling, Burnt hath been my throat, Consumed have been mine eyes, waiting for my God.

Cansado estoy de llamar; mi garganta se ha enronquecido; han desfallecido mis ojos esperando a mi Dios.

4 T hose hating me without cause Have been more than the hairs of my head, Mighty have been my destroyers, My lying enemies, That which I took not away -- I bring back.

Se han aumentado más que los cabellos de mi cabeza los que me odian sin causa; se han hecho poderosos mis enemigos, los que me destruyen sin tener por qué. ¿Y he de pagar lo que no robé?

5 O God, Thou -- Thou hast known Concerning my overturn, And my desolations from Thee have not been hid.

Dios, tú conoces mi insensatez, y mis pecados no te son ocultos.

6 L et not those waiting on Thee be ashamed because of me, O Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Let not those seeking Thee Blush because of me, O God of Israel.

No sean avergonzados por causa mía los que en ti confían, Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos; no sean confundidos por causa mía los que te buscan, Dios de Israel,

7 F or because of Thee I have borne reproach, Shame hath covered my face.

porque por amor de ti he sufrido afrenta; confusión ha cubierto mi rostro.

8 A stranger I have been to my brother, And a foreigner to sons of my mother.

Extraño he sido para mis hermanos y desconocido para los hijos de mi madre.

9 F or zeal for Thy house hath consumed me, And the reproaches of Thy reproachers Have fallen upon me.

Me consumió el celo de tu Casa y los insultos de los que te vituperaban cayeron sobre mí.

10 A nd I weep in the fasting of my soul, And it is for a reproach to me.

Lloré, afligiendo con ayuno mi alma, y esto me ha sido por afrenta.

11 A nd I make my clothing sackcloth, And I am to them for a simile.

Me vestí, además, con ropas ásperas y vine a serles por proverbio.

12 T hose sitting at the gate meditate concerning me, And those drinking strong drink, Play on instruments.

Hablaban contra mí los que se sentaban a la puerta, y en sus canciones los bebedores se burlaban de mí.

13 A nd I -- my prayer to Thee, O Jehovah, A time of good pleasure, O God, In the abundance of Thy kindness, Answer me in the truth of Thy salvation.

Pero yo a ti oraba, Jehová, en el tiempo de tu buena voluntad; Dios, por la abundancia de tu misericordia, por la verdad de tu salvación, escúchame.

14 D eliver me from the mire, and let me not sink, Let me be delivered from those hating me, And from deep places of waters.

Sácame del lodo y no sea yo sumergido; sea yo libertado de los que me aborrecen y de lo profundo de las aguas.

15 L et not a flood of waters overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up, Nor let the pit shut her mouth upon me.

No me arrastre la corriente de las aguas, ni me trague el abismo, ni el pozo cierre sobre mí su boca.

16 A nswer me, O Jehovah, for good Thy kindness, According to the abundance Of Thy mercies turn Thou unto me,

Respóndeme, Jehová, porque benigna es tu misericordia; mírame conforme a la multitud de tus piedades.

17 A nd hide not Thy face from Thy servant, For I am in distress -- haste, answer me.

No escondas de tu siervo tu rostro, porque estoy angustiado. ¡Apresúrate, óyeme!

18 B e near unto my soul -- redeem it, Because of mine enemies ransom me.

¡Acércate a mi alma, redímela! ¡Líbrame por causa de mis enemigos!

19 T hou -- Thou hast known my reproach, And my shame, and my blushing, Before Thee all mine adversaries.

Tú sabes mi afrenta, mi confusión y mi oprobio. Delante de ti están todos mis adversarios.

20 R eproach hath broken my heart, and I am sick, And I look for a bemoaner, and there is none, And for comforters, and I have found none.

El escarnio ha quebrantado mi corazón y estoy acongojado. Esperé a quien se compadeciera de mí, y no lo hubo; busqué consoladores, y ninguno hallé.

21 A nd they give for my food gall, And for my thirst cause me to drink vinegar.

Me pusieron además hiel por comida y en mi sed me dieron a beber vinagre.

22 T heir table before them is for a snare, And for a recompence -- for a trap.

Sea su banquete delante de ellos por lazo, y lo que es para bien, por tropiezo.

23 D arkened are their eyes from seeing, And their loins continually shake Thou.

Sean oscurecidos sus ojos para que no vean, y haz temblar continuamente sus lomos.

24 P our upon them Thine indignation, And the fierceness of Thine anger doth seize them.

Derrama sobre ellos tu ira y el furor de tu enojo los alcance.

25 T heir tower is desolated, In their tents there is no dweller.

Sea su palacio desolado; en sus tiendas no haya morador,

26 F or they have pursued him Thou hast smitten, And recount of the pain of Thy pierced ones.

porque persiguieron al que tú heriste y cuentan del dolor de los que tú llagaste.

27 G ive punishment for their iniquity, And they enter not into Thy righteousness.

¡Pon maldad sobre su maldad y no entren en tu justicia!

28 T hey are blotted out of the book of life, And with the righteous are not written.

¡Sean borrados del libro de los vivientes y no sean inscritos con los justos!

29 A nd I afflicted and pained, Thy salvation, O God, doth set me on high.

Pero a mí, afligido y miserable, tu salvación, Dios, me ponga en alto.

30 I praise the name of God with a song, And I magnify Him with thanksgiving,

Alabaré con cánticos el nombre de Dios, lo exaltaré con alabanza.

31 A nd it is better to Jehovah than an ox, A bullock -- horned -- hoofed.

Y agradará a Jehová más que sacrificio de buey o becerro que tiene cuernos y pezuñas.

32 T he humble have seen -- they rejoice, Ye who seek God -- and your heart liveth.

Lo verán los oprimidos y se gozarán. Buscad a Dios y vivirá vuestro corazón,

33 F or Jehovah hearkeneth unto the needy, And His bound ones He hath not despised.

porque Jehová oye a los menesterosos y no menosprecia a sus prisioneros.

34 T he heavens and earth do praise Him, Seas, and every moving thing in them.

¡Alábenlo los cielos y la tierra, los mares y todo lo que en ellos se mueve!,

35 F or God doth save Zion, And doth build the cities of Judah, And they have dwelt there, and possess it.

porque Dios salvará a Sión y reedificará las ciudades de Judá; habitarán allí y la poseerán.

36 A nd the seed of His servants inherit it, And those loving His name dwell in it!

La descendencia de sus siervos la heredará y los que aman su nombre habitarán en ella.
