1 A nd I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a man, and in his hand a measuring line.

Alcé después mis ojos y tuve una visión. Vi a un hombre que tenía en su mano un cordel de medir.

2 A nd I say, `Whither are thou going?' And he saith unto me, `To measure Jerusalem, to see how much its breadth, and how much its length.'

Y le dije: —¿A dónde vas? Él me respondió: —A medir a Jerusalén, para ver cuánta es su anchura y cuánta su longitud.

3 A nd lo, the messenger who is speaking with me is going out, and another messenger is going out to meet him,

Mientras se iba aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo, otro ángel le salió al encuentro

4 a nd he saith unto him, `Run, speak unto this young man, saying: Unwalled villages inhabit doth Jerusalem, From the abundance of man and beast in her midst.

y le dijo: «Corre, háblale a este joven y dile: »“A causa de la multitud de hombres y de ganado que habitará en medio de ella, Jerusalén no tendrá muros.

5 A nd I -- I am to her -- an affirmation of Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And for honour I am in her midst.

Yo seré para ella, dice Jehová, un muro de fuego a su alrededor, y en medio de ella mostraré mi gloria.”

6 H o, ho, and flee from the land of the north, An affirmation of Jehovah, For, as the four winds of the heavens, I have spread you abroad, An affirmation of Jehovah.

»¡Eh, eh!, huid de la tierra del norte, dice Jehová, pues por los cuatro vientos de los cielos os esparcí, dice Jehová.

7 H o, Zion, be delivered who art dwelling the daughter of Babylon.

¡Eh, Sión, tú que moras con la hija de Babilonia, escápate!»

8 F or thus said Jehovah of Hosts: After honour He hath sent me unto the nations who are spoiling you, For he who is coming against you, Is coming against the daughter of His eye.

Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: «Tras la gloria me enviará él a las naciones que os despojaron, porque el que os toca, toca a la niña de mi ojo.

9 F or lo, I am waving my hand against them, And they have been a spoil to their servants. And ye have known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me.

Yo alzo mi mano sobre ellos, y serán saqueados por sus propios siervos». Así sabréis que Jehová de los ejércitos me envió.

10 S inge, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, For lo, I am coming, and have dwelt in thy midst, An affirmation of Jehovah.

«Canta y alégrate, hija de Sión, porque yo vengo a habitar en medio de ti, ha dicho Jehová.

11 A nd joined have been many nations unto Jehovah in that day, And they have been to Me for a people, And I have dwelt in thy midst, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me unto thee.

Muchas naciones se unirán a Jehová en aquel día, y me serán por pueblo, y habitaré en medio de ti», y entonces conocerás que Jehová de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti.

12 A nd Jehovah hath inherited Judah, His portion on the holy ground, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.

Jehová poseerá a Judá, su heredad en la tierra santa, y escogerá aún a Jerusalén.

13 H ush, all flesh, because of Jehovah, For He hath been roused up from His holy habitation!'

¡Que calle todo el mundo delante de Jehová, porque él se ha levantado de su santa morada!
