1 A nd Jacob calleth unto his sons and saith, `Be gathered together, and I declare to you that which doth happen with you in the latter end of the days.

Llamó Jacob a sus hijos, y dijo: —Acercaos y os declararé lo que ha de aconteceros en los días venideros.

2 ` Be assembled, and hear, sons of Jacob, And hearken unto Israel your father.

»Acercaos y oíd, hijos de Jacob; escuchad a vuestro padre Israel.

3 R euben! my first-born thou, My power, and beginning of my strength, The abundance of exaltation, And the abundance of strength;

Rubén, tú eres mi primogénito, mi fortaleza y el principio de mi vigor; el primero en dignidad, el primero en poder.

4 U nstable as water, thou art not abundant; For thou hast gone up thy father's bed; Then thou hast polluted: My couch he went up!

Impetuoso como las aguas, ya no serás el primero, por cuanto subiste al lecho de tu padre; entonces te envileciste, al subir a mi lecho.

5 S imeon and Levi brethren! Instruments of violence -- their espousals!

»Simeón y Leví son hermanos; armas de maldad son sus armas.

6 I nto their secret, come not, O my soul! Unto their assembly be not united, O mine honour; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will eradicated a prince.

En su consejo no entre mi alma, ni mi espíritu se junte en su compañía, porque en su furor mataron hombres y en su temeridad desjarretaron toros.

7 C ursed their anger, for fierce, And their wrath, for sharp; I divide them in Jacob, And I scatter them in Israel.

Maldito sea su furor, que fue fiero, y su ira, que fue dura. Yo los apartaré en Jacob, los esparciré en Israel.

8 J udah! thou -- thy brethren praise thee! Thy hand on the neck of thine enemies, Sons of thy father bow themselves to thee.

»Judá, te alabarán tus hermanos; tu mano estará sobre el cuello de tus enemigos; los hijos de tu padre se inclinarán a ti.

9 A lion's whelp Judah, For prey, my son, thou hast gone up; He hath bent, he hath crouched as a lion, And as a lioness; who causeth him to arise?

Cachorro de león, Judá; de la presa subiste, hijo mío. Se encorvó, se echó como león, como león viejo: ¿quién lo despertará?

10 T he sceptre turneth not aside from Judah, And a lawgiver from between his feet, Till his Seed come; And his the obedience of peoples.

No será quitado el cetro de Judá ni el bastón de mando de entre sus pies, hasta que llegue Siloh; a él se congregarán los pueblos.

11 B inding to the vine his ass, And to the choice vine the colt of his ass, He hath washed in wine his clothing, And in the blood of grapes his covering;

Atando a la vid su pollino y a la cepa el hijo de su asna, lavó en el vino su vestido y en la sangre de uvas su manto.

12 R ed eyes with wine, And white teeth with milk!

Sus ojos son más rojos que el vino y sus dientes más blancos que la leche.

13 Z ebulun at a haven of the seas doth dwell, And he for a haven of ships; And his side unto Zidon.

»Zabulón habitará en puertos de mar; será puerto para las naves y llegará hasta Sidón.

14 I ssacher a strong ass, Crouching between the two folds;

»Isacar, asno fuerte que se recuesta entre los apriscos.

15 A nd he seeth rest that good, And the land that pleasant, And he inclineth his shoulder to bear, And is to tribute a servant.

Al ver que el descanso era bueno y la tierra deleitosa, bajó su hombro para llevar carga, y sirvió como un esclavo.

16 D an doth judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel;

»Dan juzgará a su pueblo como una de las tribus de Israel.

17 D an is a serpent by the way, An adder by the path, Which is biting the horse's heels, And its rider falleth backward.

Será Dan serpiente junto al camino, víbora junto a la senda, que muerde los talones del caballo y hace caer hacia atrás al jinete.

18 F or Thy salvation I have waited, Jehovah!

Tu salvación he esperado, oh Jehová.

19 G ad! a troop assaulteth him, But he assaulteth last.

»A Gad, un ejército lo asaltará, mas él acometerá al final.

20 O ut of Asher his bread fat; And he giveth dainties of a king.

»El pan de Aser será substancioso; él dará deleites al rey.

21 N aphtali a hind sent away, Who is giving beauteous young ones.

»Neftalí, cierva suelta que da hermosos cervatillos.

22 J oseph a fruitful son; A fruitful son by a fountain, Daughters step over the wall;

»Rama fructífera es José, rama fructífera junto a una fuente, sus vástagos se extienden sobre el muro.

23 A nd embitter him -- yea, they have striven, Yea, hate him do archers;

Le causaron amargura, le lanzaron flechas, lo aborrecieron los arqueros,

24 A nd his bow abideth in strength, And strengthened are the arms of his hands By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, Whence is a shepherd, a son of Israel.

mas su arco se mantuvo poderoso y los brazos de sus manos se fortalecieron por las manos del Fuerte de Jacob, por el nombre del Pastor, la Roca de Israel,

25 B y the God of thy father who helpeth thee, And the Mighty One who blesseth thee, Blessings of the heavens from above, Blessings of the deep lying under, Blessings of breasts and womb; --

por el Dios de tu padre, el cual te ayudará, por el Dios omnipotente, el cual te bendecirá con bendiciones de los cielos de arriba, con bendiciones del abismo que está abajo, con bendiciones de los pechos y del vientre.

26 T hy father's blessings have been mighty Above the blessings of my progenitors, Unto the limit of the heights age-during They are for the head of Joseph, And for the crown of the one Separate his brethren.

Las bendiciones de tu padre fueron mayores que las de mis progenitores; hasta el término de los collados eternos serán sobre la cabeza de José, sobre la frente del que fue apartado de entre sus hermanos.

27 B enjamin! a wolf teareth; In the morning he eateth prey, And at evening he apportioneth spoil.'

»Benjamín es lobo arrebatador: por la mañana comerá la presa y a la tarde repartirá los despojos. Muerte y entierro de Jacob

28 A ll these the twelve tribes of Israel, and this that which their father hath spoken unto them, and he blesseth them; each according to his blessing he hath blessed them.

Todas estas son las tribus de Israel, doce en total, y esto es lo que su padre les dijo al bendecirlas; a cada una le dio su bendición.

29 A nd he commandeth them, and saith unto them, `I am being gathered unto my people; bury me by my fathers, at the cave which in the field of Ephron the Hittite;

Les ordenó luego, diciendo: «Voy a ser reunido con mi pueblo. Sepultadme con mis padres en la cueva que está en el campo de Efrón, el heteo,

30 i n the cave which in the field of Machpelah, which on the front of Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying-place;

en la cueva que está en el campo de Macpela, al oriente de Mamre, en la tierra de Canaán, la que compró Abraham junto con el mismo campo de Efrón, el heteo, para heredad de sepultura.

31 ( there they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah);

Allí sepultaron a Abraham y a Sara, su mujer; allí sepultaron a Isaac y a Rebeca, su mujer; allí también sepulté yo a Lea.

32 t he purchase of the field and of the cave which in it, from Sons of Heth.'

El campo y la cueva que está en él fueron comprados a los hijos de Het.»

33 A nd Jacob finisheth commanding his sons, and gathereth up his feet unto the bed, and expireth, and is gathered unto his people.

Cuando acabó Jacob de dar mandamientos a sus hijos, encogió sus pies en la cama y expiró, y se reunió con sus padres.
