1 A nd Josiah maketh in Jerusalem a passover to Jehovah, and they slaughter the passover-offering on the fourteenth of the first month,

Josías celebró la Pascua a Jehová en Jerusalén, y sacrificaron la Pascua a los catorce días del mes primero.

2 a nd he stationeth the priests over their charges, and strengtheneth them for the service of the house of Jehovah,

Puso también a los sacerdotes en sus oficios y los confirmó en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová.

3 a nd saith to the Levites -- who are teaching all Israel -- who are sanctified to Jehovah, `Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon son of David king of Israel built; it is not to you a burden on the shoulder. `Now, serve Jehovah your God, and His people Israel,

Dijo además a los levitas que enseñaban a todo Israel y que estaban dedicados a Jehová: «Poned el Arca santa en la casa que edificó Salomón hijo de David, rey de Israel, para que no la carguéis más sobre los hombros. Servid ahora a Jehová, vuestro Dios, y a su pueblo Israel.

4 a nd prepare, by the house of your fathers, according to your courses, by the writing of David king of Israel, and by the writing of Solomon his son,

Preparaos según las familias de vuestros padres, por vuestros turnos, como lo ordenaron David, rey de Israel, y Salomón, su hijo.

5 a nd stand in the sanctuary, by the divisions of the house of the fathers of your brethren, sons of the people, and the portion of the house of a father of the Levites,

Estad en el santuario según la distribución de las familias de vuestros hermanos, los hijos del pueblo, y según la distribución de la familia de los levitas.

6 a nd slaughter the passover-offering and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Moses.'

Sacrificad luego la Pascua, santificaos y preparadla para que vuestros hermanos puedan cumplir la palabra de Jehová dada por medio de Moisés.»

7 A nd Josiah lifteth up to the sons of the people a flock of lambs and young goats, the whole for passover-offerings, for every one who is found, to the number of thirty thousand, and oxen three thousand: these from the substance of the king.

Luego dio el rey Josías a los del pueblo ovejas, corderos y cabritos de los rebaños, en número de treinta mil, y tres mil bueyes, todo para la Pascua, para todos los que se hallaban presentes. Todo esto provenía de la hacienda del rey.

8 A nd his heads, for a willing-offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites, have lifted up; Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, leaders in the house of God, to the priests have given for passover-offerings two thousand and six hundred, and oxen three hundred;

También sus príncipes dieron con liberalidad al pueblo y a los sacerdotes y levitas. Hilcías, Zacarías y Jehiel, oficiales de la casa de Dios, dieron a los sacerdotes, para celebrar la Pascua, dos mil seiscientas ovejas y trescientos bueyes.

9 a nd Conaniah, and Shemaiah, and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah, and Jeiel, and Jozabad, heads of the Levites, have lifted up to the Levites, for passover-offerings, five thousand, and oxen five hundred.

Asimismo Conanías, Semaías y Natanael, sus hermanos, y Hasabías, Jeiel y Josabad, jefes de los levitas, dieron a los levitas, para los sacrificios de la Pascua, cinco mil ovejas y quinientos bueyes.

10 A nd the service is prepared, and the priests stand on their station, and the Levites on their courses, according to the command of the king,

Preparado así el servicio, los sacerdotes se colocaron en sus puestos, y asimismo los levitas en sus turnos, conforme al mandamiento del rey.

11 a nd they slaughter the passover-offering, and the priests sprinkle out of their hand, and the Levites are striping;

Entonces sacrificaron la Pascua; y rociaban los sacerdotes la sangre recibida de manos de los levitas, y los levitas desollaban las víctimas.

12 a nd they turn aside the burnt-offering, to put them by the divisions of the house of the fathers of the sons of the people, to bring near to Jehovah, as it is written in the book of Moses -- and so to the oxen.

Tomaron luego del holocausto, para dar conforme a los repartimientos de las familias del pueblo, a fin de que ofrecieran a Jehová según está escrito en el libro de Moisés; y asimismo tomaron de los bueyes.

13 A nd they cook the passover with fire, according to the ordinance, and the sanctified things they have cooked in pots, and in kettles, and in pans -- for all the sons of the people.

Asaron la Pascua al fuego conforme a la ordenanza; pero lo que había sido santificado lo cocieron en ollas, en calderos y sartenes, y lo repartieron rápidamente a todo el pueblo.

14 A nd afterward they have prepared for themselves, and for the priests: for the priests, sons of Aaron, in the offering up of the burnt-offering and of the fat till night; and the Levites have prepared for themselves, and for the priests, sons of Aaron.

Después prepararon para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes; porque los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, estuvieron ocupados hasta la noche en el sacrificio de los holocaustos y de las grasas; por tanto, los levitas prepararon para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón.

15 A nd the singers, sons of Asaph, on their station, according to the command of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun seer of the king, and the gate keepers at gate and gate; it is not for them to turn aside from off their service, for their brethren the Levites have prepared for them.

Asimismo los cantores, hijos de Asaf, estaban en su puesto, conforme al mandamiento de David, de Asaf y de Hemán, y de Jedutún, el vidente del rey; lo mismo los porteros, cada uno en su puerta; y no fue necesario que se apartaran de su ministerio, porque sus hermanos los levitas preparaban para ellos.

16 A nd all the service of Jehovah is prepared on that day, to keep the passover, and to cause to ascend burnt-offering upon the altar of Jehovah, according to the command of king Josiah.

Así se organizó aquel día todo el servicio de Jehová, para celebrar la Pascua y para sacrificar los holocaustos sobre el altar de Jehová, conforme al mandamiento del rey Josías.

17 A nd the sons of Israel who are found make the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened things, seven days.

Los hijos de Israel que estaban allí celebraron en ese tiempo la Pascua y la fiesta solemne de los Panes sin levadura por siete días.

18 A nd there hath not been made a passover like it in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet, and none of the kings of Israel made such a passover as Josiah hath made, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who are found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

No se había celebrado una Pascua como ésta en Israel desde los días del profeta Samuel; ni ningún rey de Israel celebró la Pascua tal como la que celebró el rey Josías, los sacerdotes y los levitas, todo Judá e Israel, que allí se hallaban presentes, junto con los habitantes de Jerusalén.

19 I n the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah hath this passover been made.

Esta Pascua fue celebrada en el año dieciocho del rey Josías. Muerte de Josías

20 A fter all this, when Josiah hath prepared the house, come up hath Necho king of Egypt, to fight against Carchemish by Phrat, and Josiah goeth forth to meet him;

Después de todas estas cosas, luego de haber reparado Josías la casa de Jehová, Necao, rey de Egipto, subió para hacer guerra en Carquemis junto al Éufrates; y salió Josías contra él.

21 a nd he sendeth unto him messengers, saying, `What -- to me and to thee, O king of Judah? not against thee do I come to-day, but unto the house with which I have war, and God said to haste me; cease for thee from God who with me, and He doth not destroy thee.'

Pero Necao le envió mensajeros a decirle: «¿Qué tengo yo contigo, rey de Judá? No vengo hoy contra ti, sino contra la casa que me hace la guerra; y Dios me ha dicho que me apresure. Deja de oponerte a Dios, quien está conmigo, no sea que él te destruya.»

22 A nd Josiah hath not turned round his face from him, but to fight against him hath disguised himself, and hath not hearkened unto the words of Necho, from the mouth of God, and cometh in to fight in the valley of Megiddo;

Pero Josías no se retiró, sino que se disfrazó para darle batalla, y no atendió a las palabras de Necao, que venían de la boca de Dios. Así que fue a presentarle batalla en el campo de Meguido,

23 a nd the archers shoot at king Josiah, and the king saith to his servants, `Remove me, for I have become very sick.'

y los arqueros tiraron contra el rey Josías. Entonces dijo el rey a sus siervos: «Sacadme de aquí, porque estoy gravemente herido.»

24 A nd his servants remove him from the chariot, and cause him to ride on the second chariot that he hath, and cause him to go to Jerusalem, and he dieth, and is buried in the graves of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem are mourning for Josiah,

Sus siervos lo sacaron de aquel carro, lo pusieron en un segundo carro que tenía y lo llevaron a Jerusalén, donde murió. Fue sepultado en los sepulcros de sus padres y todo Judá y Jerusalén hicieron duelo por Josías.

25 a nd Jeremiah lamenteth for Josiah, and all the singers and the songstresses speak in their lamentations of Josiah unto this day, and set them for a statute on Israel, and lo, they are written beside the lamentations.

Jeremías endechó en memoria de Josías. Todos los cantores y cantoras recitan esas lamentaciones sobre Josías hasta el día de hoy; y las tomaron por norma para endechar en Israel. Están escritas en el libro de Lamentos.

26 A nd the rest of the matters of Josiah, and his kind acts, according as it is written in the law of Jehovah,

Los demás hechos de Josías y sus obras piadosas conforme a lo que está escrito en la ley de Jehová,

27 e ven his matters, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

y sus hechos, los primeros y los últimos, están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.
