1 A nd the queen of Sheba is hearing of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, and cometh to try him with enigmas,

Cuando la reina de Sabá oyó de la fama que Salomón había alcanzado para honra de Jehová, vino a probarlo con preguntas difíciles.

2 a nd she cometh to Jerusalem, with a very great company, camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stone, and she cometh unto Solomon, and speaketh unto him all that hath been with her heart.

Llegó a Jerusalén con un séquito muy grande, con camellos cargados de especias, oro en gran abundancia y piedras preciosas. Al presentarse ante Salomón, le expuso todo lo que en su corazón tenía.

3 A nd Solomon declareth to her all her matters -- there hath not been a thing hid from the king that he hath not declared to her.

Salomón le contestó todas sus preguntas; nada hubo que el rey no le contestara.

4 A nd the queen of Sheba seeth all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he built,

Cuando la reina de Sabá vio toda la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,

5 a nd the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their clothing, and his butlers, and his burnt-offering that he causeth to ascend in the house of Jehovah, and there hath not been in her any more spirit.

así como la comida de su mesa, las habitaciones de sus oficiales, el estado y los vestidos de los que le servían, sus maestresalas y los holocaustos que ofrecía en la casa de Jehová, se quedó tan asombrada

6 A nd she saith unto the king, `True hath been the word that I heard in my land, concerning thy matters and thy wisdom;

que dijo al rey: «¡Es verdad lo que oí en mi tierra de tus cosas y tu sabiduría!

7 a nd I gave no credence to the words till that I have come, and my eyes see, and lo, it was not declared to me -- the half; thou hast added wisdom and goodness unto the report that I heard.

Yo no lo creía hasta que he venido y mis ojos han visto que ni aun se me dijo la mitad: tu sabiduría y tus bienes superan la fama que yo había oído.

8 O the happiness of thy men, O the happiness of thy servants -- these -- who are standing before thee continually, who are hearing thy wisdom!

¡Bienaventurados tus hombres, dichosos estos tus siervos, que están continuamente delante de ti y oyen tu sabiduría!

9 J ehovah thy God is blessed who delighted in thee, to put thee on the throne of Israel; in Jehovah's loving Israel to the age He doth set thee for king, to do judgment and righteousness.

¡Y bendito sea Jehová, tu Dios, que te vio con agrado y te ha colocado en el trono de Israel!, pues Jehová ha amado siempre a Israel, y te ha puesto como rey para que hagas derecho y justicia.»

10 A nd she giveth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices very many, and precious stone; there came not like that spice any more for abundance that the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

Luego dio ella al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, mucha especiería y piedras preciosas. Nunca llegó tal cantidad de especias como la que dio la reina de Sabá al rey Salomón.

11 A nd also, the navy of Hiram that bore gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir almug-trees very many, and precious stone;

La flota de Hiram, la que había traído el oro de Ofir, traía también de Ofir mucha madera de sándalo y piedras preciosas.

12 a nd the king maketh the almug-trees a support for the house of Jehovah, and for the house of the king, and harps and psalteries for singers; there have not come such almug-trees, nor have there been seen unto this day.

De la madera de sándalo hizo el rey balaustres para la casa de Jehová y para las casas reales, arpas y también salterios para los cantores. Nunca había llegado, ni se ha visto hasta hoy, semejante madera de sándalo.

13 A nd king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire that she asked, apart from that which he gave to her as a memorial of king Solomon, and she turneth and goeth to her land, she and her servants.

El rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que ella quiso y todo lo que pidió, además de lo que personalmente le regaló. Después ella se despidió y regresó a su tierra con sus criados. Riquezas y fama de Salomón

14 A nd the weight of the gold that hath come to Solomon in one year is six hundred sixty and six talents of gold,

El peso del oro que Salomón recibía de renta cada año era de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

15 a part from the tourists, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the land.

sin contar lo que aportaban los mercaderes, la contratación de especias, y lo de todos los reyes de Arabia y los principales de la tierra.

16 A nd king Solomon maketh two hundred targets of alloyed gold -- six hundred of gold go up on the one target;

Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos escudos grandes de oro batido, empleando seiscientos siclos de oro en cada escudo.

17 a nd three hundred shields of alloyed gold -- three pounds of gold go up on the one shield; and the king putteth them the house of the forest of Lebanon.

Asimismo hizo trescientos escudos de oro batido, en cada uno de los cuales gastó tres libras de oro. Y los puso el rey en la casa «Bosque del Líbano».

18 A nd the king maketh a great throne of ivory, and overlayeth it with refined gold;

Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, el cual recubrió de oro purísimo.

19 s ix steps hath the throne, and a round top to the throne behind it, and hands on this and on that, unto the place of the sitting, and two lions are standing near the hands,

Seis gradas tenía el trono, y la parte alta era redonda por el respaldo, con brazos a uno y otro lado del asiento, junto a los cuales estaban colocados dos leones.

20 a nd twelve lions are standing there on the six steps, on this and on that; it hath not been made so for any kingdom.

Había también doce leones puestos allí sobre las seis gradas, de un lado y de otro. ¡En ningún otro reino se había hecho un trono semejante!

21 A nd all the drinking vessels of king Solomon of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon of refined gold -- there are none of silver; it was not reckoned in the days of Solomon for anything,

Y todos los vasos de beber del rey Salomón eran de oro, así como toda la vajilla de la casa «Bosque del Líbano». No había nada de plata, porque en tiempos de Salomón no era apreciada,

22 f or a navy of Tarshish hath the king at sea with a navy of Hiram; once in three years cometh the navy of Tarshish, bearing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

ya que el rey tenía en el mar una flota de naves de Tarsis, junto con la flota de Hiram, y una vez cada tres años la flota de Tarsis venía y traía oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.

23 A nd king Solomon is greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom,

Así excedía el rey Salomón a todos los reyes de la tierra en riquezas y en sabiduría.

24 a nd all the earth is seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom that God hath put into his heart,

Toda la tierra procuraba ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su corazón.

25 a nd they are bringing each his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, the matter of a year in a year.

Y todos le llevaban cada año sus presentes: alhajas de oro y de plata, vestidos, armas, especias aromáticas, caballos y mulos. Salomón comercia con caballos y carros

26 A nd Solomon gathereth chariots, and horsemen, and he hath a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placeth them in the cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.

Salomón reunió carros y gente de a caballo; tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales llevó a las ciudades de los carros y junto al rey en Jerusalén.

27 A nd the king maketh the silver in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he hath made as the sycamores that in the low country, for abundance.

Hizo el rey que en Jerusalén hubiera tanta plata como piedras, y que abundaran los cedros como las higueras de la Sefela.

28 A nd the outgoing of the horses that king Solomon hath from Egypt, and from Keveh; merchants of the king take from Keveh at a price;

Y traían de Egipto caballos y lienzos a Salomón, porque los mercaderes del rey los compraban allí.

29 a nd a chariot cometh up and cometh out of Egypt for six hundred silverlings, and a horse for fifty and a hundred, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Aram; by their hand they bring out.

Un carro que se traía de Egipto valía seiscientas piezas de plata, y un caballo ciento cincuenta. Así los adquirían, también por medio de ellos, todos los reyes de los heteos y de Siria.
