1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. In Thee, O Jehovah, I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed to the age, In Thy righteousness deliver me.

En ti, Jehová, he confiado; no sea yo confundido jamás. ¡Líbrame en tu justicia!

2 I ncline unto me Thine ear hastily, deliver me, Be to me for a strong rock, For a house of bulwarks to save me.

Inclina a mí tu oído, líbrame pronto. ¡Sé tú mi roca fuerte y la fortaleza para salvarme!

3 F or my rock and my bulwark Thou, For Thy name's sake lead me and tend me.

Tú eres mi roca y mi castillo; por tu nombre me guiarás y me encaminarás.

4 B ring me out from the net that they hid for me, For Thou my strength.

¡Sácame de la red que me han tendido, pues tú eres mi refugio!

5 I nto Thy hand I commit my spirit, Thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah God of truth.

En tu mano encomiendo mi espíritu; tú me has redimido, Jehová, Dios de verdad.

6 I have hated the observers of lying vanities, And I toward Jehovah have been confident.

Aborrezco a los que esperan en ídolos vanos; mas yo en Jehová he esperado.

7 I rejoice, and am glad in Thy kindness, In that Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast known in adversities my soul.

Me gozaré y alegraré en tu misericordia, porque has visto mi aflicción, has conocido las angustias de mi alma.

8 A nd Thou hast not shut me up, Into the hand of an enemy, Thou hast caused my feet to stand in a broad place.

No me entregaste en manos del enemigo; pusiste mis pies en lugar espacioso.

9 F avour me, O Jehovah, for distress to me, Mine eye, my soul, and my body Have become old by provocation.

Ten misericordia de mí, Jehová, porque estoy en angustia; se han consumido de tristeza mis ojos, también mi alma y mi cuerpo.

10 F or my life hath been consumed in sorrow And my years in sighing. Feeble because of mine iniquity hath been my strength, And my bones have become old.

Mi vida se va gastando de dolor y mis años de suspirar; ¡se agotan mis fuerzas a causa de mi maldad y mis huesos se consumen!

11 A mong all mine adversaries I have been a reproach, And to my neighbours exceedingly, And a fear to mine acquaintances, Those seeing me without -- fled from me.

De todos mis enemigos soy objeto de oprobio, y de mis vecinos mucho más; soy el horror de mis conocidos. ¡Los que me ven afuera huyen de mí!

12 I have been forgotten as dead out of mind, I have been as a perishing vessel.

He sido olvidado de su corazón como un muerto; he llegado a ser como un vaso quebrado.

13 F or I have heard an evil account of many, Fear round about. In their being united against me, To take my life they have devised,

Oigo la calumnia de muchos; el miedo me asalta por todas partes, mientras conspiran juntos contra mí e idean quitarme la vida.

14 A nd I on Thee -- I have trusted, O Jehovah, I have said, `Thou my God.'

Mas yo en ti, Jehová, confío; digo: «¡Tú eres mi Dios.

15 I n Thy hand my times, Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from my pursuers.

En tu mano están mis tiempos!» Líbrame de manos de mis enemigos y de mis perseguidores.

16 C ause Thy face to shine on Thy servant, Save me in Thy kindness.

Haz resplandecer tu rostro sobre tu siervo; ¡sálvame por tu misericordia!

17 O Jehovah, let me not be ashamed, For I have called Thee, let the wicked be ashamed, Let them become silent to Sheol.

No sea yo avergonzado, Jehová, ya que te he invocado; ¡sean avergonzados los impíos, estén mudos en el seol!

18 L et lips of falsehood become dumb, That are speaking against the righteous, Ancient sayings, in pride and contempt.

Enmudezcan los labios mentirosos, que hablan contra el justo cosas duras con soberbia y menosprecio.

19 H ow abundant is Thy goodness, That Thou hast laid up for those fearing Thee,

¡Cuán grande es tu bondad, que has guardado para los que te temen, que has mostrado a los que esperan en ti, delante de los hijos de los hombres!

20 T hou hast wrought for those trusting in Thee, Before sons of men. Thou hidest them in the secret place of Thy presence, From artifices of man, Thou concealest them in a tabernacle, From the strife of tongues.

En lo secreto de tu presencia los esconderás de la conspiración del hombre; los pondrás en tu Tabernáculo a cubierto de lenguas contenciosas.

21 B lessed Jehovah, For He hath made marvellous His kindness To me in a city of bulwarks.

Bendito sea Jehová, porque ha hecho maravillosa su misericordia para conmigo en ciudad fortificada.

22 A nd I -- I have said in my haste, `I have been cut off from before Thine eyes,' But Thou hast heard the voice of my supplications, In my crying unto Thee.

Decía yo en mi apuro: «Excluido soy de delante de tus ojos»; pero tú oíste la voz de mis ruegos cuando a ti clamé.

23 L ove Jehovah, all ye His saints, Jehovah is keeping the faithful, And recompensing abundantly a proud doer.

Amad a Jehová, todos vosotros sus santos; a los fieles guarda Jehová y retribuye con creces al que procede con soberbia.

24 B e strong, and He strengtheneth your heart, All ye who are waiting for Jehovah!

Esforzaos todos vosotros, los que esperáis en Jehová, y tome aliento vuestro corazón.
