1 I n the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:

En el octavo mes del año segundo de Darío, llegó esta palabra de Jehová al profeta Zacarías hijo de Berequías hijo de Iddo:

2 ` Jehovah was wroth against your fathers -- wrath!

«Se enojó mucho Jehová contra vuestros padres.

3 A nd thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, turn back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And I turn back unto you, said Jehovah of Hosts.

Diles, pues: »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Volveos a mí, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y yo me volveré a vosotros, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

4 Y e shall not be as your fathers, To whom the former prophets called, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Turn back I pray you, From your evil ways and from your evil doings, And they did not hearken, Nor attend to Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah.

»No seáis como vuestros padres, a quienes los primeros profetas clamaron diciendo: “Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Volveos ahora de vuestros malos caminos y de vuestras malas obras”; pero ellos no atendieron ni me escucharon, dice Jehová.

5 Y our fathers -- where they? And the prophets -- to the age do they live?

»Vuestros padres, ¿dónde están?; y los profetas, ¿acaso han de vivir para siempre?

6 O nly, My words, and My statutes, That I commanded My servants the prophets, Have they not overtaken your fathers, And they turn back and say: As Jehovah of Hosts designed to do to us, According to our ways, and according to our doings, So He hath done to us?'

En cambio, mis palabras y mis ordenanzas, que yo mandé a mis siervos los profetas, ¿no alcanzaron a vuestros padres? »Por eso ellos se volvieron y dijeron: “Como Jehová de los ejércitos había decidido tratarnos, conforme a nuestros caminos y conforme a nuestras obras, así nos ha tratado.”» La visión de los caballos

7 O n the twenty and fourth day of the eleventh month, (it the month of Sebat,) in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:

A los veinticuatro días del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebat, en el año segundo de Darío, llegó esta palabra de Jehová al profeta Zacarías hijo de Berequías hijo de Iddo:

8 I have seen by night, and lo, one riding on a red horse, and he is standing between the myrtles that in the shade, and behind him horses, red, bay, and white.

Tuve una visión durante la noche: Vi a un hombre que cabalgaba sobre un caballo alazán y estaba entre los mirtos que había en la hondonada, y detrás de él había caballos alazanes, overos y blancos.

9 A nd I say, `What these, my lord?' And the messenger who is speaking with me saith unto me, `I -- I do shew thee what these.'

Entonces pregunté: —¿Quiénes son estos, señor mío? Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me respondió: —Yo te enseñaré quiénes son estos.

10 A nd the one who is standing between the myrtles doth answer and say, `These they whom Jehovah hath sent to walk up and down in the land.'

Y el hombre que estaba entre los mirtos dijo: —Éstos son los que Jehová ha enviado a recorrer la tierra.

11 A nd they answer the messenger of Jehovah who is standing between the myrtles, and say, `We have walked up and down in the land, and lo, all the land is sitting still, and at rest.'

Entonces ellos hablaron a aquel ángel de Jehová que estaba entre los mirtos, y le dijeron: —Hemos recorrido la tierra, y hemos visto que toda la tierra está tranquila y en calma.

12 A nd the messenger of Jehovah answereth and saith, `Jehovah of Hosts! till when dost Thou not pity Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, that Thou hast abhorred these seventy years?'

El ángel de Jehová exclamó: —Jehová de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo no tendrás piedad de Jerusalén y de las ciudades de Judá, con las cuales has estado enojado por espacio de setenta años?

13 A nd Jehovah answereth the messenger, who is speaking with me, good words, comfortable words.

Jehová dirigió palabras buenas, palabras de consuelo, al ángel que hablaba conmigo.

14 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me, saith unto me, `Call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion great zeal.

Entonces el ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: «Proclama: “Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: »”Celé con gran celo a Jerusalén y a Sión.

15 A nd great wrath I am wroth against the nations who are at ease, For I was a little wroth, and they assisted -- for evil.

Pero siento gran ira contra las naciones despreocupadas, pues cuando yo estaba un poco enojado, ellas se aprovecharon para agravar el mal.

16 T herefore, thus said Jehovah: I have turned to Jerusalem with mercies, My house is built in it, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And a line is stretched over Jerusalem.

Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: Me vuelvo a Jerusalén con misericordia; en ella será edificada mi Casa, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y la plomada será tendida sobre Jerusalén.”

17 A gain call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Again do my cities overflow from good, And Jehovah hath again comforted Zion, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.'

»Proclama también: »“Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Aún rebosarán mis ciudades con la abundancia del bien; aún consolará Jehová a Sión y aún escogerá a Jerusalén.”» Visión de los cuernos y los carpinteros

18 A nd I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, four horns.

Después alcé mis ojos y miré; y vi cuatro cuernos.

19 A nd I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, `What these?' And he saith unto me, `These the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.'

Y pregunté al ángel que hablaba conmigo: —¿Qué son estos? Me respondió: —Éstos son los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, a Israel y a Jerusalén.

20 A nd Jehovah doth shew me four artizans.

Me mostró luego Jehová cuatro carpinteros.

21 A nd I say, `What these coming in to do?' And He speaketh, saying: `These the horns that have scattered Judah, so that no one hath lifted up his head, and these come in to trouble them, to cast down the horns of the nations who are lifting up a horn against the land of Judah -- to scatter it.'

Pregunté: —¿Qué vienen estos a hacer? Él me respondió: —Aquellos son los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, tanto que ninguno alzó su cabeza; pero estos han venido para hacerlos temblar, para derribar los cuernos de las naciones que alzaron el cuerno sobre la tierra de Judá para dispersarla.
