1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm by David. Jehovah, Thou hast searched me, and knowest.

Jehová, tú me has examinado y conocido.

2 T hou -- Thou hast known my sitting down, And my rising up, Thou hast attended to my thoughts from afar.

Tú has conocido mi sentarme y mi levantarme. Has entendido desde lejos mis pensamientos.

3 M y path and my couch Thou hast fanned, And all my ways hast been acquainted.

Has escudriñado mi andar y mi reposo, y todos mis caminos te son conocidos,

4 F or there is not a word in my tongue, Lo, O Jehovah, Thou hast known it all!

pues aún no está la palabra en mi lengua y ya tú, Jehová, la sabes toda.

5 B ehind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.

Detrás y delante me rodeaste, y sobre mí pusiste tu mano.

6 K nowledge too wonderful for me, It hath been set on high, I am not able for it.

Tal conocimiento es demasiado maravilloso para mí; ¡alto es, no lo puedo comprender!

7 W hither do I go from Thy Spirit? And whither from Thy face do I flee?

¿A dónde me iré de tu espíritu? ¿Y a dónde huiré de tu presencia?

8 I f I ascend the heavens -- there Thou, And spread out a couch in Sheol, lo, Thee!

Si subiera a los cielos, allí estás tú; y si en el seol hiciera mi estrado, allí tú estás.

9 I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,

Si tomara las alas del alba y habitara en el extremo del mar,

10 A lso there Thy hand doth lead me, And Thy right hand doth hold me.

aun allí me guiará tu mano y me asirá tu diestra.

11 A nd I say, `Surely darkness bruiseth me, Then night light to me.

Si dijera: «Ciertamente las tinieblas me encubrirán», aun la noche resplandecerá alrededor de mí.

12 A lso darkness hideth not from Thee, And night as day shineth, as darkness so light.

Aun las tinieblas no encubren de ti, y la noche resplandece como el día; ¡lo mismo te son las tinieblas que la luz!

13 F or Thou -- Thou hast possessed my reins, Thou dost cover me in my mother's belly.

Tú formaste mis entrañas; me hiciste en el vientre de mi madre.

14 I confess Thee, because that wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful Thy works, And my soul is knowing well.

Te alabaré, porque formidables y maravillosas son tus obras; estoy maravillado y mi alma lo sabe muy bien.

15 M y substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.

No fue encubierto de ti mi cuerpo, aunque en oculto fui formado y entretejido en lo más profundo de la tierra.

16 M ine unformed substance Thine eyes saw, And on Thy book all of them are written, The days they were formed -- And not one among them.

Mi embrión vieron tus ojos, y en tu libro estaban escritas todas aquellas cosas que fueron luego formadas, sin faltar ni una de ellas.

17 A nd to me how precious have been Thy thoughts, O God, how great hath been their sum!

¡Cuán preciosos, Dios, me son tus pensamientos! ¡Cuán grande es la suma de ellos!

18 I recount them! than the sand they are more, I have waked, and I am still with Thee.

Si los enumero, se multiplican más que la arena. Yo despierto y aún estoy contigo.

19 D ost Thou slay, O God, the wicked? Then, men of blood, turn aside from me!

De cierto, Dios, harás morir al impío. ¡Apartaos, pues, de mí, hombres sanguinarios!

20 W ho exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity Thine enemies.

Blasfemias dicen ellos contra ti; tus enemigos toman en vano tu nombre.

21 D o not I hate, Jehovah, those hating Thee? And with Thy withstanders grieve myself?

¿No odio, Jehová, a los que te aborrecen, y me enardezco contra tus enemigos?

22 p erfect hatred I have hated them, Enemies they have become to me.

Los aborrezco por completo, los tengo por enemigos.

23 S earch me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts,

Examíname, Dios, y conoce mi corazón; pruébame y conoce mis pensamientos.

24 A nd see if a grievous way be in me, And lead me in a way age-during!

Ve si hay en mí camino de perversidad y guíame en el camino eterno.
