2 F or, lo, Thine enemies do roar, And those hating Thee have lifted up the head,

3 A gainst Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones.

Contra tu pueblo han consultado astuta y secretamente, y han entrado en consejo contra tus protegidos.

4 T hey have said, `Come, And we cut them off from a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more.'

Han dicho: «Venid y destruyámoslos, para que no sean nación y no haya más memoria del nombre de Israel.»

5 F or they consulted in heart together, Against Thee a covenant they make,

A una se confabulan de corazón. Contra ti han hecho alianza

6 T ents of Edom, and Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,

13 O my God, make them as a rolling thing, As stubble before wind.

Dios mío, ponlos como torbellinos, como hojarascas delante del viento,

14 A s a fire doth burn a forest, And as a flame setteth hills on fire,

como fuego que quema el monte, como llama que abrasa el bosque.

15 S o dost Thou pursue them with Thy whirlwind, And with Thy hurricane troublest them.

Persíguelos así con tu tempestad y atérralos con tu huracán.

16 F ill their faces shame, And they seek Thy name, O Jehovah.

Llena sus rostros de vergüenza, y busquen tu nombre, Jehová.

17 T hey are ashamed and troubled for ever, Yea, they are confounded and lost.

Sean confundidos y turbados para siempre; sean deshonrados y perezcan.

18 A nd they know that Thou -- (Thy name Jehovah -- by Thyself,) the Most High over all the earth!

Y conozcan que tu nombre es Jehová; ¡sólo tú, el Altísimo sobre toda la tierra!
