1 T o the Overseer with Stringed Instruments. -- A Psalm of David. In my calling answer Thou me, O God of my righteousness. In adversity Thou gavest enlargement to me; Favour me, and hear my prayer.

Hijos de los hombres, ¿hasta cuándo volveréis mi honra en infamia, amaréis la vanidad y buscaréis la mentira? Selah

3 A nd know ye that Jehovah Hath separated a saintly one to Himself. Jehovah heareth in my calling to Him.

Sabed, pues, que Jehová ha escogido al piadoso para sí; Jehová oirá cuando yo a él clame.

4 ` Tremble ye, and do not sin;' Say ye in your heart on your bed, And be ye silent. Selah.

¡Temblad y no pequéis! Meditad en vuestro corazón estando en vuestra cama, y callad. Selah

5 S acrifice ye sacrifices of righteousness, And trust ye unto Jehovah.

Ofreced sacrificios de justicia y confiad en Jehová.

6 M any are saying, `Who doth show us good?' Lift on us the light of Thy face, O Jehovah,

Muchos son los que dicen: «¿Quién nos mostrará el bien?» Alza sobre nosotros, Jehová, la luz de tu rostro.

7 T hou hast given joy in my heart, From the time their corn and their wine Have been multiplied.

Tú diste alegría a mi corazón, mayor que la de ellos cuando abundaba su grano y su mosto.

8 I n peace together I lie down and sleep, For Thou, O Jehovah, alone, In confidence dost cause me to dwell!

En paz me acostaré y asimismo dormiré, porque sólo tú, Jehová, me haces vivir confiado.
