1 A nd Peter and John were going up at the same time to the temple, at the hour of the prayer, the ninth,

Pedro y Juan subían juntos al Templo a la hora novena, que era la de la oración.

2 a nd a certain man, being lame from the womb of his mother, was being carried, whom they were laying every day at the gate of the temple, called Beautiful, to ask a kindness from those entering into the temple,

Había un hombre, cojo de nacimiento, que era llevado y dejado cada día a la puerta del Templo que se llama la Hermosa, para que pidiera limosna a los que entraban en el Templo.

3 w ho, having seen Peter and John about to go into the temple, was begging to receive a kindness.

Éste, cuando vio a Pedro y a Juan que iban a entrar en el Templo, les rogaba que le dieran limosna.

4 A nd Peter, having looked stedfastly toward him with John, said, `Look toward us;'

Pedro, con Juan, fijando en él los ojos, le dijo: —Míranos.

5 a nd he was giving heed to them, looking to receive something from them;

Entonces él los miró atento, esperando recibir de ellos algo.

6 a nd Peter said, `Silver and gold I have none, but what I have, that I give to thee; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and be walking.'

Pero Pedro dijo: —No tengo plata ni oro, pero lo que tengo te doy: en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, levántate y anda.

7 A nd having seized him by the right hand, he raised up, and presently his feet and ankles were strengthened,

Entonces lo tomó por la mano derecha y lo levantó. Al instante se le afirmaron los pies y tobillos;

8 a nd springing up, he stood, and was walking, and did enter with them into the temple, walking and springing, and praising God;

y saltando, se puso en pie y anduvo; y entró con ellos en el Templo, andando, saltando y alabando a Dios.

9 a nd all the people saw him walking and praising God,

Todo el pueblo lo vio andar y alabar a Dios.

10 t hey were knowing him also that this it was who for a kindness was sitting at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what hath happened to him.

Y lo reconocían que era el que se sentaba a pedir limosna a la puerta del Templo, la Hermosa; y se llenaron de asombro y espanto por lo que le había sucedido. Segundo discurso de Pedro

11 A nd at the lame man who was healed holding Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch called Solomon's -- greatly amazed,

Mientras el cojo que había sido sanado tenía asidos a Pedro y a Juan, todo el pueblo, atónito, concurrió a ellos al pórtico que se llama de Salomón.

12 a nd Peter having seen, answered unto the people, `Men, Israelites! why wonder ye at this? or on us why look ye so earnestly, as if by our own power or piety we have made him to walk?

Al ver esto Pedro, habló al pueblo: «Israelitas, ¿por qué os admiráis de esto? ¿o por qué ponéis los ojos en nosotros, como si por nuestro poder o piedad hubiéramos hecho andar a éste?

13 ` The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, did glorify His child Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, he having given judgment to release,

El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, ha glorificado a su Hijo Jesús, a quien vosotros entregasteis y negasteis delante de Pilato, cuando éste había resuelto ponerlo en libertad.

14 a nd ye the Holy and Righteous One did deny, and desired a man -- a murderer -- to be granted to you,

Pero vosotros negasteis al Santo y al Justo, y pedisteis que se os diera un homicida,

15 a nd the Prince of the life ye did kill, whom God did raise out of the dead, of which we are witnesses;

y matasteis al Autor de la vida, a quien Dios resucitó de los muertos, de lo cual nosotros somos testigos.

16 a nd on the faith of his name, this one whom ye see and have known, his name made strong, even the faith that through him did give to him this perfect soundness before you all.

Por la fe en su nombre, a éste, que vosotros veis y conocéis, lo ha confirmado su nombre; y la fe que es por él ha dado a éste esta completa sanidad en presencia de todos vosotros.

17 ` And now, brethren, I have known that through ignorance ye did, as also your rulers;

»Pero ahora, hermanos, sé que por ignorancia lo habéis hecho, como también vuestros gobernantes.

18 a nd God, what things before He had declared through the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ should suffer, He did thus fulfil;

Pero Dios ha cumplido así lo que antes había anunciado por boca de todos sus profetas: que su Cristo habría de padecer.

19 r eform ye, therefore, and turn back, for your sins being blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Así que, arrepentíos y convertíos para que sean borrados vuestros pecados; para que vengan de la presencia del Señor tiempos de consuelo,

20 a nd He may send Jesus Christ who before hath been preached to you,

y él envíe a Jesucristo, que os fue antes anunciado.

21 w hom it behoveth heaven, indeed, to receive till times of a restitution of all things, of which God spake through the mouth of all His holy prophets from the age.

A éste, ciertamente, es necesario que el cielo reciba hasta los tiempos de la restauración de todas las cosas, de que habló Dios por boca de sus santos profetas que han sido desde tiempo antiguo,

22 ` For Moses, indeed, unto the fathers said -- A prophet to you shall the Lord your God raise up out of your brethren, like to me; him shall ye hear in all things, as many as he may speak unto you;

pues Moisés dijo a los padres: “El Señor vuestro Dios os levantará profeta de entre vuestros hermanos, como a mí; a él oiréis en todas las cosas que os hable,

23 a nd it shall be, every soul that may not hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed out of the people;

y toda alma que no oiga a aquel profeta será desarraigada del pueblo.”

24 a nd also all the prophets from Samuel and those following in order, as many as spake, did also foretell of these days.

»Y todos los profetas desde Samuel en adelante, cuantos han hablado, también han anunciado estos días.

25 ` Ye are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant that God made unto our fathers, saying unto Abraham: And in thy seed shall be blessed all the families of the earth;

Vosotros sois los hijos de los profetas y del pacto que Dios hizo con nuestros padres diciendo a Abraham: “En tu simiente serán benditas todas las familias de la tierra.”

26 t o you first, God, having raised up His child Jesus, did send him, blessing you, in the turning away of each one from your evil ways.'

A vosotros primeramente, Dios, habiendo levantado a su Hijo, lo envió para que os bendijera, a fin de que cada uno se convierta de su maldad.»
