1 G ive ye thanks to Jehovah -- call ye in His name, Make known among the peoples His acts.

2 S ing ye to Him -- sing praise to Him, Meditate ye on all His wonders.

¡Cantadle, cantadle salmos! Hablad de todas sus maravillas.

3 B oast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking Jehovah rejoiceth.

Gloriaos en su santo nombre; alégrese el corazón de los que buscan a Jehová.

4 S eek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek ye His face continually.

¡Buscad a Jehová y su poder; buscad siempre su rostro!

5 R emember His wonders that He did, His signs and the judgments of His mouth.

Acordaos de las maravillas que él ha hecho, de sus prodigios y de los juicios de su boca,

6 O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.

vosotros, descendencia de Abraham su siervo, hijos de Jacob, sus escogidos.

7 H e Jehovah our God, In all the earth His judgments.

Él es Jehová, nuestro Dios; en toda la tierra están sus juicios.

8 H e hath remembered to the age His covenant, The word He commanded to a thousand generations,

Se acordó para siempre de su pacto; de la palabra que mandó para mil generaciones,

9 T hat He hath made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

la cual concertó con Abraham, y de su juramento a Isaac.

10 A nd doth establish it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during,

La estableció a Jacob por decreto, a Israel por pacto sempiterno,

11 S aying, `To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,'

diciendo: «A ti te daré la tierra de Canaán como porción de vuestra heredad.»

12 I n their being few in number, But a few, and sojourners in it.

Cuando ellos eran pocos en número y forasteros en ella,

13 A nd they go up and down, from nation unto nation, From a kingdom unto another people.

y andaban de nación en nación, de un reino a otro pueblo,

14 H e hath not suffered any to oppress them And He reproveth for their sakes kings.

no consintió que nadie los agraviara, y por causa de ellos castigó a los reyes.

15 ` Strike not against Mine anointed, And to My prophets do not evil.'

«No toquéis —dijo— a mis ungidos, ni hagáis mal a mis profetas.»

16 A nd He calleth a famine on the land, The whole staff of bread He hath broken.

Trajo hambre sobre la tierra y cortó todo sustento de pan.

17 H e hath sent before them a man, For a servant hath Joseph been sold.

Envió a un hombre delante de ellos; a José, que fue vendido como esclavo.

18 T hey have afflicted with fetters his feet, Iron hath entered his soul,

Afligieron sus pies con grillos; en cárcel fue puesta su persona.

19 T ill the time of the coming of His word The saying of Jehovah hath tried him.

Hasta la hora en que se cumplió su palabra, el dicho de Jehová lo probó.

20 T he king hath sent, and looseth him, The ruler of the peoples, and draweth him out.

Envió el rey y lo soltó; el señor de los pueblos lo dejó ir libre.

21 H e hath made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions.

Lo puso por señor de su casa, y por gobernador de todas sus posesiones,

22 T o bind his chiefs at his pleasure, And his elders he maketh wise.

para regir a sus grandes como él quisiera y enseñar a sus ancianos sabiduría.

23 A nd Israel cometh in to Egypt, And Jacob hath sojourned in the land of Ham.

Después entró Israel en Egipto, Jacob moró en la tierra de Cam.

24 A nd He maketh His people very fruitful, And maketh it mightier than its adversaries.

Y multiplicó su pueblo en gran manera y lo hizo más fuerte que sus enemigos.

25 H e turned their heart to hate His people, To conspire against His servants.

Cambió el corazón de ellos para que aborrecieran a su pueblo, para que contra sus siervos pensaran mal.

26 H e hath sent Moses His servant, Aaron whom He had fixed on.

Envió a su siervo Moisés y a Aarón, al cual escogió.

27 T hey have set among them the matters of His signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.

Puso en ellos las palabras de sus señales, y sus prodigios en la tierra de Cam.

28 H e hath sent darkness, and it is dark, And they have not provoked His word.

Envió tinieblas que lo oscurecieron todo; no fueron rebeldes a su palabra.

29 H e hath turned their waters to blood, And putteth to death their fish.

Volvió sus aguas en sangre y mató sus peces.

30 T eemed hath their land frogs, In the inner chambers of their kings.

Su tierra produjo ranas hasta en las cámaras de sus reyes.

31 H e hath said, and the beetle cometh, Lice into all their border.

Habló, y vinieron enjambres de moscas y piojos en todo su territorio.

32 H e hath made their showers hail, A flaming fire in their land.

Les dio granizo por lluvia y llamas de fuego en su tierra.

33 A nd He smiteth their vine and their fig, And shivereth the trees of their border.

Destrozó sus viñas y sus higueras, y quebró los árboles de su territorio.

34 H e hath said, and the locust cometh, And the cankerworm -- innumerable,

Habló, y vinieron langostas y pulgón sin número;

35 A nd it consumeth every herb in their land, And it consumeth the fruit of their ground.

y se comieron toda la hierba de su país, devoraron el fruto de su tierra.

36 A nd He smiteth every first-born in their land, The first-fruit of all their strength,

Hirió de muerte a todos los primogénitos en su tierra, las primicias de toda su fuerza.

37 A nd bringeth them out with silver and gold, And there is not in its tribes a feeble one.

Los sacó con plata y oro y no hubo en sus tribus enfermo.

38 R ejoiced hath Egypt in their going forth, For their fear had fallen upon them.

Egipto se alegró de que salieran porque su terror había caído sobre ellos.

39 H e hath spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to enlighten the night.

Extendió una nube por cubierta y fuego para alumbrar la noche.

40 T hey have asked, and He bringeth quails, And bread of heaven satisfieth them.

Pidieron, e hizo venir codornices; y los sació con pan del cielo.

41 H e hath opened a rock, and waters issue, They have gone on in dry places -- a river.

Abrió la peña y fluyeron aguas; corrieron por los sequedales como un río,

42 F or He hath remembered His holy word, With Abraham His servant,

porque se acordó de su santa palabra dada a Abraham su siervo.

43 A nd He bringeth forth His people with joy, With singing His chosen ones.

Sacó a su pueblo con gozo; con júbilo a sus escogidos.

44 A nd He giveth to them the lands of nations, And the labour of peoples they possess,

Les dio las tierras de las naciones y las labores de los pueblos heredaron,

45 T hat they may observe His statutes, And His laws may keep. Praise ye Jehovah!

para que guardaran sus estatutos y cumplieran sus leyes. ¡Aleluya!
