1 ¡ Alabad a Jehová, invocad su nombre, dad a conocer sus obras entre los pueblos!

Give ye thanks to Jehovah -- call ye in His name, Make known among the peoples His acts.

2 ¡ Cantadle, cantadle salmos! Hablad de todas sus maravillas.

Sing ye to Him -- sing praise to Him, Meditate ye on all His wonders.

3 G loriaos en su santo nombre; alégrese el corazón de los que buscan a Jehová.

Boast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking Jehovah rejoiceth.

4 ¡ Buscad a Jehová y su poder; buscad siempre su rostro!

Seek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek ye His face continually.

5 A cordaos de las maravillas que él ha hecho, de sus prodigios y de los juicios de su boca,

Remember His wonders that He did, His signs and the judgments of His mouth.

6 v osotros, descendencia de Abraham su siervo, hijos de Jacob, sus escogidos.

O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.

7 É l es Jehová, nuestro Dios; en toda la tierra están sus juicios.

He Jehovah our God, In all the earth His judgments.

8 S e acordó para siempre de su pacto; de la palabra que mandó para mil generaciones,

He hath remembered to the age His covenant, The word He commanded to a thousand generations,

9 l a cual concertó con Abraham, y de su juramento a Isaac.

That He hath made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

10 L a estableció a Jacob por decreto, a Israel por pacto sempiterno,

And doth establish it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during,

11 d iciendo: «A ti te daré la tierra de Canaán como porción de vuestra heredad.»

Saying, `To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,'

12 C uando ellos eran pocos en número y forasteros en ella,

In their being few in number, But a few, and sojourners in it.

13 y andaban de nación en nación, de un reino a otro pueblo,

And they go up and down, from nation unto nation, From a kingdom unto another people.

14 n o consintió que nadie los agraviara, y por causa de ellos castigó a los reyes.

He hath not suffered any to oppress them And He reproveth for their sakes kings.

15 « No toquéis —dijo— a mis ungidos, ni hagáis mal a mis profetas.»

`Strike not against Mine anointed, And to My prophets do not evil.'

16 T rajo hambre sobre la tierra y cortó todo sustento de pan.

And He calleth a famine on the land, The whole staff of bread He hath broken.

17 E nvió a un hombre delante de ellos; a José, que fue vendido como esclavo.

He hath sent before them a man, For a servant hath Joseph been sold.

18 A fligieron sus pies con grillos; en cárcel fue puesta su persona.

They have afflicted with fetters his feet, Iron hath entered his soul,

19 H asta la hora en que se cumplió su palabra, el dicho de Jehová lo probó.

Till the time of the coming of His word The saying of Jehovah hath tried him.

20 E nvió el rey y lo soltó; el señor de los pueblos lo dejó ir libre.

The king hath sent, and looseth him, The ruler of the peoples, and draweth him out.

21 L o puso por señor de su casa, y por gobernador de todas sus posesiones,

He hath made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions.

22 p ara regir a sus grandes como él quisiera y enseñar a sus ancianos sabiduría.

To bind his chiefs at his pleasure, And his elders he maketh wise.

23 D espués entró Israel en Egipto, Jacob moró en la tierra de Cam.

And Israel cometh in to Egypt, And Jacob hath sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 Y multiplicó su pueblo en gran manera y lo hizo más fuerte que sus enemigos.

And He maketh His people very fruitful, And maketh it mightier than its adversaries.

25 C ambió el corazón de ellos para que aborrecieran a su pueblo, para que contra sus siervos pensaran mal.

He turned their heart to hate His people, To conspire against His servants.

26 E nvió a su siervo Moisés y a Aarón, al cual escogió.

He hath sent Moses His servant, Aaron whom He had fixed on.

27 P uso en ellos las palabras de sus señales, y sus prodigios en la tierra de Cam.

They have set among them the matters of His signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.

28 E nvió tinieblas que lo oscurecieron todo; no fueron rebeldes a su palabra.

He hath sent darkness, and it is dark, And they have not provoked His word.

29 V olvió sus aguas en sangre y mató sus peces.

He hath turned their waters to blood, And putteth to death their fish.

30 S u tierra produjo ranas hasta en las cámaras de sus reyes.

Teemed hath their land frogs, In the inner chambers of their kings.

31 H abló, y vinieron enjambres de moscas y piojos en todo su territorio.

He hath said, and the beetle cometh, Lice into all their border.

32 L es dio granizo por lluvia y llamas de fuego en su tierra.

He hath made their showers hail, A flaming fire in their land.

33 D estrozó sus viñas y sus higueras, y quebró los árboles de su territorio.

And He smiteth their vine and their fig, And shivereth the trees of their border.

34 H abló, y vinieron langostas y pulgón sin número;

He hath said, and the locust cometh, And the cankerworm -- innumerable,

35 y se comieron toda la hierba de su país, devoraron el fruto de su tierra.

And it consumeth every herb in their land, And it consumeth the fruit of their ground.

36 H irió de muerte a todos los primogénitos en su tierra, las primicias de toda su fuerza.

And He smiteth every first-born in their land, The first-fruit of all their strength,

37 L os sacó con plata y oro y no hubo en sus tribus enfermo.

And bringeth them out with silver and gold, And there is not in its tribes a feeble one.

38 E gipto se alegró de que salieran porque su terror había caído sobre ellos.

Rejoiced hath Egypt in their going forth, For their fear had fallen upon them.

39 E xtendió una nube por cubierta y fuego para alumbrar la noche.

He hath spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to enlighten the night.

40 P idieron, e hizo venir codornices; y los sació con pan del cielo.

They have asked, and He bringeth quails, And bread of heaven satisfieth them.

41 A brió la peña y fluyeron aguas; corrieron por los sequedales como un río,

He hath opened a rock, and waters issue, They have gone on in dry places -- a river.

42 p orque se acordó de su santa palabra dada a Abraham su siervo.

For He hath remembered His holy word, With Abraham His servant,

43 S acó a su pueblo con gozo; con júbilo a sus escogidos.

And He bringeth forth His people with joy, With singing His chosen ones.

44 L es dio las tierras de las naciones y las labores de los pueblos heredaron,

And He giveth to them the lands of nations, And the labour of peoples they possess,

45 p ara que guardaran sus estatutos y cumplieran sus leyes. ¡Aleluya!

That they may observe His statutes, And His laws may keep. Praise ye Jehovah!
