1 « ¡Ay de la ciudad rebelde, contaminada y opresora!

Wo the rebellious and polluted, The oppressing city!

2 » No escuchó la voz ni recibió la corrección; no confió en Jehová ni se acercó a su Dios.

She hath not hearkened to the voice, She hath not accepted instruction, In Jehovah she hath not trusted, Unto her God she hath not drawn near.

3 S us príncipes son, en medio de ella, leones rugientes; sus jueces, lobos nocturnos que no dejan ni un hueso para la mañana.

Her heads in her midst roaring lions, Her judges evening wolves, They have not gnawn the bone in the morning.

4 S us profetas son altaneros, hombres fraudulentos; sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario, falsearon la Ley.

Her prophets unstable -- men of treachery, Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, They have violated the law.

5 J ehová es justo en medio de ella, no cometerá iniquidad; cada mañana, al despuntar el día, emite sin falta su juicio; pero el perverso no conoce la vergüenza.

Jehovah righteous in her midst, He doth not do perverseness, Morning by morning His judgment he giveth to the light, It hath not been lacking, And the perverse doth not know shame.

6 » Hice destruir naciones, sus habitaciones están asoladas; he dejado desiertas sus calles hasta no quedar quien pase. Sus ciudades han quedado desoladas, no ha quedado ni un hombre ni un habitante.

I have cut off nations, Desolated have been their chief ones, I have laid waste their out-places without any passing by, Destroyed have been their cities, Without man, without inhabitant.

7 M e decía: “Ciertamente me temerá, recibirá corrección y no será destruida su morada cuando yo la visite.” Mas ellos se apresuraron a corromper todos sus hechos.

I have said: Only, ye do fear Me, Ye do accept instruction, And her habitation is not cut off, All that I have appointed for her, But they have risen early, They have corrupted all their doings.

8 P or tanto, esperadme, dice Jehová, hasta el día en que me levante para juzgaros, porque mi determinación es reunir las naciones, juntar los reinos para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, todo el ardor de mi ira, hasta que el fuego de mi celo consuma toda la tierra.

Therefore, wait for Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah, For the day of My rising for prey, For My judgment to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them Mine indignation, All the heat of Mine anger, For by the fire of My jealousy consumed is all the earth.

9 » En aquel tiempo devolveré yo a los pueblos pureza de labios, para que todos invoquen el nombre de Jehová, para que le sirvan de común consentimiento.

For then do I turn unto peoples a pure lip, To call all of them by the name of Jehovah, To serve Him one shoulder.

10 D e la región más allá de los ríos de Etiopía me suplicarán; la hija de mis esparcidos traerá mi ofrenda.

From beyond the rivers of Cush, my supplicants, The daughter of My scattered ones, Do bring My present.

11 E n aquel día no serás avergonzada por ninguna de las obras con que te rebelaste contra mí, porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti a los que se alegran en tu soberbia, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás en mi santo monte.

In that day thou art not ashamed because of any of thine actions, Wherewith thou hast transgressed against Me, For then do I turn aside from thy midst The exulting ones of thine excellency, And thou dost add no more to be haughty, In My holy mountain.

12 Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, el cual confiará en el nombre de Jehová.

And I have left in thy midst a people humble and poor, And they have trusted in the name of Jehovah.

13 E l resto de Israel no hará injusticia ni dirá mentira, ni en boca de ellos se hallará lengua engañosa, porque ellos serán apacentados y reposarán, y no habrá quien los atemorice.

The remnant of Israel do no perversity, nor speak lies, Nor found in their mouth is a deceitful tongue, For they have delight, and have lain down, And there is none troubling.

14 » ¡Canta, hija de Sión! ¡Da voces de júbilo, Israel! ¡Gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalén!

Cry aloud, O daughter of Zion, shout, O Israel, Rejoice and exult with the whole heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15 J ehová ha retirado su juicio contra ti; ha echado fuera a tus enemigos. Jehová es Rey de Israel en medio de ti; no temerás ya ningún mal.

Jehovah hath turned aside thy judgments, He hath faced thine enemy, The king of Israel, Jehovah, in thy midst, Thou seest evil no more.

16 E n aquel tiempo se dirá a Jerusalén: “¡No temas, Sión, que no se debiliten tus manos!”

In that day it is said to Jerusalem, `Fear not, O Zion, let not thy hands be feeble.

17 J ehová está en medio de ti; ¡él es poderoso y te salvará! Se gozará por ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará por ti con cánticos.

Jehovah thy God in thy midst, A mighty one doth save, He rejoiceth over thee with joy, He doth work in His love, He joyeth over thee with singing.'

18 » Como en día de fiesta apartaré de ti la desgracia; te libraré del oprobio que pesa sobre ti.

Mine afflicted from the appointed place I have gathered, from thee they have been, Bearing for her sake reproach.

19 E n aquel tiempo yo apremiaré a todos tus opresores; salvaré a la oveja que cojea y recogeré a la descarriada. Cambiaré su vergüenza en alabanza y renombre en toda la tierra.

Lo, I am dealing with all afflicting thee at that time, And I have saved the halting one, And the driven out ones I do gather, And have set them for a praise and for a name, In all the land of their shame.

20 E n aquel tiempo yo os traeré; en aquel tiempo os reuniré, y os daré renombre y fama entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando levante vuestro cautiverio ante vuestros propios ojos, dice Jehová.»

At that time I bring you in, Even at the time of My assembling you, For I give you for a name, and for a praise, Among all peoples of the land, In My turning back your captivity before your eyes, said Jehovah!
