1 A Y de la ciudad ensuciada y contaminada y opresora!

Wo the rebellious and polluted, The oppressing city!

2 N o escuchó la voz, ni recibió la disciplina: no se confió en Jehová, no se acercó á su Dios.

She hath not hearkened to the voice, She hath not accepted instruction, In Jehovah she hath not trusted, Unto her God she hath not drawn near.

3 S us príncipes en medio de ella son leones bramadores: sus jueces, lobos de tarde que no dejan hueso para la mañana:

Her heads in her midst roaring lions, Her judges evening wolves, They have not gnawn the bone in the morning.

4 S us profetas, livianos, hombres prevaricadores: sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario, falsearon la ley.

Her prophets unstable -- men of treachery, Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, They have violated the law.

5 J ehová justo en medio de ella, no hará iniquidad: de mañana sacará á luz su juicio, nunca falta: mas el perverso no tiene vergüenza.

Jehovah righteous in her midst, He doth not do perverseness, Morning by morning His judgment he giveth to the light, It hath not been lacking, And the perverse doth not know shame.

6 H ice talar gentes; sus castillos están asolados; hice desiertas sus calles, hasta no quedar quien pase: sus ciudades están asoladas hasta no quedar hombre, hasta no quedar morador.

I have cut off nations, Desolated have been their chief ones, I have laid waste their out-places without any passing by, Destroyed have been their cities, Without man, without inhabitant.

7 D ije: Ciertamente me temerás, recibirás corrección; y no será su habitación derruída por todo aquello sobre que los visité. Mas ellos se levantaron de mañana y corrompieron todas sus obras.

I have said: Only, ye do fear Me, Ye do accept instruction, And her habitation is not cut off, All that I have appointed for her, But they have risen early, They have corrupted all their doings.

8 P or tanto, esperadme, dice Jehová, al día que me levantaré al despojo: porque mi determinación es reunir las gentes, juntar los reinos, para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, todo el furor de mi ira; porque del fuego de mi celo será consumida toda la tierra.

Therefore, wait for Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah, For the day of My rising for prey, For My judgment to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them Mine indignation, All the heat of Mine anger, For by the fire of My jealousy consumed is all the earth.

9 P or entonces volveré yo á los pueblos el labio limpio, para que todos invoquen el nombre de Jehová, para que de un consentimiento le sirvan.

For then do I turn unto peoples a pure lip, To call all of them by the name of Jehovah, To serve Him one shoulder.

10 D e esa parte de los ríos de Etiopía, mis suplicantes, la hija de mis esparcidos, me traerán ofrenda.

From beyond the rivers of Cush, my supplicants, The daughter of My scattered ones, Do bring My present.

11 E n aquel día no serás avergonzada por ninguna de tus obras con que te rebelaste contra mí; porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti los que se alegran en tu soberbia, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás del monte de mi santidad.

In that day thou art not ashamed because of any of thine actions, Wherewith thou hast transgressed against Me, For then do I turn aside from thy midst The exulting ones of thine excellency, And thou dost add no more to be haughty, In My holy mountain.

12 Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, los cuales esperarán en el nombre de Jehová.

And I have left in thy midst a people humble and poor, And they have trusted in the name of Jehovah.

13 E l resto de Israel no hará iniquidad, ni dirá mentira, ni en boca de ellos se hallará lengua engañosa: porque ellos serán apacentados y dormirán, y no habrá quien los espante.

The remnant of Israel do no perversity, nor speak lies, Nor found in their mouth is a deceitful tongue, For they have delight, and have lain down, And there is none troubling.

14 C anta, oh hija de Sión: da voces de júbilo, oh Israel; gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalem.

Cry aloud, O daughter of Zion, shout, O Israel, Rejoice and exult with the whole heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15 J ehová ha apartado tus juicios, ha echado fuera tus enemigos: Jehová es Rey de Israel en medio de ti; nunca más verás mal.

Jehovah hath turned aside thy judgments, He hath faced thine enemy, The king of Israel, Jehovah, in thy midst, Thou seest evil no more.

16 E n aquel tiempo se dirá á Jerusalem: No temas: Sión, no se debiliten tus manos.

In that day it is said to Jerusalem, `Fear not, O Zion, let not thy hands be feeble.

17 J ehová en medio de ti, poderoso, él salvará; gozaráse sobre ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará sobre ti con cantar.

Jehovah thy God in thy midst, A mighty one doth save, He rejoiceth over thee with joy, He doth work in His love, He joyeth over thee with singing.'

18 R euniré á los fastidiados por causa del largo tiempo; tuyos fueron; para quienes el oprobio de ella era una carga.

Mine afflicted from the appointed place I have gathered, from thee they have been, Bearing for her sake reproach.

19 H e aquí, en aquel tiempo yo apremiaré á todos tus opresores; y salvaré la coja, y recogeré la descarriada; y pondrélos por alabanza y por renombre en todo país de confusión.

Lo, I am dealing with all afflicting thee at that time, And I have saved the halting one, And the driven out ones I do gather, And have set them for a praise and for a name, In all the land of their shame.

20 E n aquel tiempo yo os traeré, en aquel tiempo os reuniré yo; pues os daré por renombre y por alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando tornaré vuestros cautivos delante de vuestros ojos, dice Jehová.

At that time I bring you in, Even at the time of My assembling you, For I give you for a name, and for a praise, Among all peoples of the land, In My turning back your captivity before your eyes, said Jehovah!
