1 B ENDICE, alma mía, á Jehová. Jehová, Dios mío, mucho te has engrandecido; Haste vestido de gloria y de magnificencia.

Bless, O my soul, Jehovah! Jehovah, my God, Thou hast been very great, Honour and majesty Thou hast put on.

2 E l que se cubre de luz como de vestidura, Que extiende los cielos como una cortina;

Covering himself light as a garment, Stretching out the heavens as a curtain,

3 Q ue establece sus aposentos entre las aguas; El que pone las nubes por su carroza, El que anda sobre las alas del viento;

Who is laying the beam of His upper chambers in the waters, Who is making thick clouds His chariot, Who is walking on wings of wind,

4 E l que hace á sus ángeles espíritus, Sus ministros al fuego flameante.

Making His messengers -- the winds, His ministers -- the flaming fire.

5 E l fundó la tierra sobre sus basas; No será jamás removida.

He hath founded earth on its bases, It is not moved to the age and for ever.

6 C on el abismo, como con vestido, la cubriste; Sobre los montes estaban las aguas.

The abyss! as with clothing Thou hast covered it, Above hills do waters stand.

7 A tu reprensión huyeron; Al sonido de tu trueno se apresuraron;

From Thy rebuke they flee, From the voice of Thy thunder haste away.

8 S ubieron los montes, descendieron los valles, Al lugar que tú les fundaste.

They go up hills -- they go down valleys, Unto a place Thou hast founded for them.

9 P usísteles término, el cual no traspasarán; Ni volverán á cubrir la tierra.

A border Thou hast set, they pass not over, They turn not back to cover the earth.

10 T ú eres el que envías las fuentes por los arroyos; Van entre los montes.

Who is sending forth fountains in valleys, Between hills they go on.

11 A brevan á todas las bestias del campo: Quebrantan su sed los asnos montaraces.

They water every beast of the field, Wild asses break their thirst.

12 J unto á aquellos habitarán las aves de los cielos; Entre las ramas dan voces.

By them the fowl of the heavens doth dwell, From between the branches They give forth the voice.

13 E l que riega los montes desde sus aposentos: Del fruto de sus obras se sacia la tierra.

Watering hills from His upper chambers, From the fruit of Thy works is the earth satisfied.

14 E l que hace producir el heno para las bestias, Y la hierba para el servicio del hombre; Sacando el pan de la tierra.

Causing grass to spring up for cattle, And herb for the service of man, To bring forth bread from the earth,

15 Y el vino que alegra el corazón del hombre, Y el aceite que hace lucir el rostro, Y el pan que sustenta el corazón del hombre.

And wine -- it rejoiceth the heart of man, To cause the face to shine from oil, And bread -- the heart of man it supporteth.

16 L lénanse de jugo los árboles de Jehová, Los cedros del Líbano que él plantó.

Satisfied the trees of Jehovah, Cedars of Lebanon that He hath planted,

17 A llí anidan las aves; En las hayas hace su casa la cigüeña.

Where birds do make nests, The stork -- the firs her house.

18 L os montes altos para las cabras monteses; Las peñas, madrigueras para los conejos.

The high hills for wild goats, Rocks a refuge for conies,

19 H izo la luna para los tiempos: El sol conoce su ocaso.

He made the moon for seasons, The sun hath known his place of entrance.

20 P one las tinieblas, y es la noche: En ella corretean todas las bestias de la selva.

Thou settest darkness, and it is night, In it doth every beast of the forest creep.

21 L os leoncillos braman á la presa, Y para buscar de Dios su comida.

The young lions are roaring for prey, And to seek from God their food.

22 S ale el sol, recógense, Y échanse en sus cuevas.

The sun riseth, they are gathered, And in their dens they crouch.

23 S ale el hombre á su hacienda, Y á su labranza hasta la tarde.

Man goeth forth to his work, And to his service -- till evening.

24 C uán muchas son tus obras, oh Jehová! Hiciste todas ellas con sabiduría: La tierra está llena de tus beneficios.

How many have been Thy works, O Jehovah, All of them in wisdom Thou hast made, Full is the earth of thy possessions.

25 A simismo esta gran mar y ancha de términos: En ella pescados sin número, Animales pequeños y grandes.

This, the sea, great and broad of sides, There moving things -- innumerable, Living creatures -- small with great.

26 A llí andan navíos; Allí este leviathán que hiciste para que jugase en ella.

There do ships go: leviathan, That Thou hast formed to play in it.

27 T odos ellos esperan en ti, Para que les des su comida á su tiempo.

All of them unto Thee do look, To give their food in its season.

28 L es das, recogen; Abres tu mano, hártanse de bien.

Thou dost give to them -- they gather, Thou dost open Thy hand -- they satisfied good.

29 E scondes tu rostro, túrbanse: Les quitas el espíritu, dejan de ser, Y tórnanse en su polvo.

Thou hidest Thy face -- they are troubled, Thou gatherest their spirit -- they expire, And unto their dust they turn back.

30 E nvías tu espíritu, críanse: Y renuevas la haz de la tierra.

Thou sendest out Thy Spirit, they are created, And Thou renewest the face of the ground.

31 S ea la gloria de Jehová para siempre; Alégrese Jehová en sus obras;

The honour of Jehovah is to the age, Jehovah rejoiceth in His works,

32 E l cual mira á la tierra, y ella tiembla; Toca los montes, y humean.

Who is looking to earth, and it trembleth, He cometh against hills, and they smoke.

33 A Jehová cantaré en mi vida: A mi Dios salmearé mientras viviere.

I sing to Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.

34 S erme ha suave hablar de él: Yo me alegraré en Jehová.

Sweet is my meditation on Him, I -- I do rejoice in Jehovah.

35 S ean consumidos de la tierra los pecadores, Y los impíos dejen de ser. Bendice, alma mía, á Jehová. Aleluya.

Consumed are sinners from the earth, And the wicked are no more. Bless, O my soul, Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah!
