1 Y JEHOVA habló á Moisés, diciendo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 H az la venganza de los hijos de Israel sobre los Madianitas; después serás recogido á tus pueblos.

`Execute the vengeance of the sons of Israel against the Midianites -- afterwards thou art gathered unto thy people.'

3 E ntonces Moisés habló al pueblo, diciendo: Armaos algunos de vosotros para la guerra, é irán contra Madián, y harán la venganza de Jehová en Madián.

And Moses speaketh unto the people, saying, `Be ye armed some of you for the host, and they are against Midian, to put the vengeance of Jehovah on Midian;

4 M il de cada tribu de todas las tribus de los hijos de Israel, enviaréis á la guerra.

a thousand for a tribe -- a thousand for a tribe, to all the tribes of Israel -- ye do send to the host.'

5 A sí fueron dados de los millares de Israel, mil por cada tribu, doce mil á punto de guerra.

And there are given out of the thousands of Israel a thousand for a tribe, twelve thousand armed ones of the host;

6 Y Moisés los envió á la guerra: mil por cada tribu envió: y Phinees, hijo de Eleazar sacerdote, fué á la guerra con los santos instrumentos, con las trompetas en su mano para tocar.

and Moses sendeth them, a thousand for a tribe, to the host, them and Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, to the host; and the holy vessels, and the trumpets of the shouting, in his hand.

7 Y pelearon contra Madián, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés, y mataron á todo varón.

And they war against Midian, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses, and slay every male;

8 M ataron también, entre los muertos de ellos, á los reyes de Madián: Evi, y Recem, y Zur, y Hur, y Reba, cinco reyes de Madián; á Balaam también, hijo de Beor, mataron á cuchillo.

and the kings of Midian they have slain, besides their pierced ones, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam son of Beor, they have slain with the sword.

9 Y llevaron cautivas los hijos de Israel las mujeres de los Madianitas, y sus chiquitos y todas sus bestias, y todos sus ganados; y arrebataron toda su hacienda.

And the sons of Israel take captive the women of Midian, and their infants; and all their cattle, and all their substance, and all their wealth they have plundered;

10 Y abrasaron con fuego todas sus ciudades, aldeas y castillos.

and all their cities, with their habitations, and all their towers, they have burnt with fire.

11 Y tomaron todo el despojo, y toda la presa, así de hombres como de bestias.

And they take all the spoil, and all the prey, among man and among beast;

12 Y trajeron á Moisés, y á Eleazar el sacerdote, y á la congregación de los hijos de Israel, los cautivos y la presa y los despojos, al campo en los llanos de Moab, que están junto al Jordán de Jericó.

and they bring in, unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the company of the sons of Israel, the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto the camp, unto the plains of Moab, which by Jordan, Jericho.

13 Y salieron Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote, y todos los príncipes de la congregación, á recibirlos fuera del campo.

And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the company, go out to meet them, unto the outside of the camp,

14 Y enojóse Moisés contra los capitanes del ejército, contra los tribunos y centuriones que volvían de la guerra;

and Moses is wroth against the inspectors of the force, chiefs of the thousands, and chiefs of the hundreds, who are coming in from the host of the battle.

15 Y díjoles Moisés: ¿Todas las mujeres habéis reservado?

And Moses saith unto them, `Have ye kept alive every female?

16 H e aquí ellas fueron á los hijos de Israel, por consejo de Balaam, para causar prevaricación contra Jehová en el negocio de Peor; por lo que hubo mortandad en la congregación de Jehová.

lo, they -- they have been to the sons of Israel, through the word of Balaam, to cause a trespass against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and the plague is in the company of Jehovah.

17 M atad pues ahora todos los varones entre los niños: matad también toda mujer que haya conocido varón carnalmente.

`And now, slay ye every male among the infants, yea, every woman known of man by the lying of a male ye have slain;

18 Y todas las niñas entre las mujeres, que no hayan conocido ayuntamiento de varón, os reservaréis vivas.

and all the infants among the women, who have not known the lying of a male, ye have kept alive for yourselves.

19 Y vosotros quedaos fuera del campo siete días: y todos los que hubieren matado persona, y cualquiera que hubiere tocado muerto, os purificaréis al tercero y al séptimo día, vosotros y vuestros cautivos.

`And ye, encamp ye at the outside of the camp seven days -- any who hath slain a person, and any who hath come against a pierced one, ye cleanse yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day -- ye and your captives;

20 A simismo purificaréis todo vestido, y toda prenda de pieles, y toda obra de pelos de cabra, y todo vaso de madera.

and every garment, and every skin vessel, and every work of goats', and every wooden vessel, ye yourselves cleanse.'

21 Y Eleazar el sacerdote dijo á los hombres de guerra que venían de la guerra: Esta es la ordenanza de la ley que Jehová ha mandado á Moisés:

And Eleazar the priest saith unto the men of the host who go in to battle, `This the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses:

22 C iertamente el oro, y la plata, metal, hierro, estaño, y plomo,

only, the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

23 T odo lo que resiste el fuego, por fuego lo haréis pasar, y será limpio, bien que en las aguas de purificación habrá de purificarse: mas haréis pasar por agua todo lo que no aguanta el fuego.

every thing which may go into fire, ye cause to pass over through fire, and it hath been clean; only, with the water of separation it is cleansed, and all that may not go into fire, ye cause to pass over through water;

24 A demás lavaréis vuestros vestidos el séptimo día, y así seréis limpios; y después entraréis en el campo.

and ye have washed your garments on the seventh day, and have been clean, and afterwards ye come in unto the camp.'

25 Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

26 T oma la cuenta de la presa que se ha hecho, así de las personas como de las bestias, tú y el sacerdote Eleazar, y las cabezas de los padres de la congregación:

`Take up the sum of the prey of the captives, among man and among beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers of the company;

27 Y partirás por mitad la presa entre los que pelearon, los que salieron á la guerra, y toda la congregación.

and thou hast halved the prey between those handling the battle who go out to the host and all the company;

28 Y apartarás para Jehová el tributo de los hombres de guerra, que salieron á la guerra: de quinientos uno, así de las personas como de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas:

and thou hast raised a tribute to Jehovah from the men of war, who go out to the host, one body out of five hundred, of man, and of the herd, and of the asses, and of the flock;

29 D e la mitad de ellos lo tomarás; y darás á Eleazar el sacerdote la ofrenda de Jehová.

from their half ye do take, and thou hast given to Eleazar the priest -- the heave-offering of Jehovah.

30 Y de la mitad perteneciente á los hijos de Israel tomarás uno de cincuenta, de las personas, de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas, de todo animal; y los darás á los Levitas, que tienen la guarda del tabernáculo de Jehová.

`And from the sons of Israel's half thou dost take one possession out of fifty, of man, of the herd, of the asses, and of the flock, of all the cattle, and thou hast given them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.'

31 E hicieron Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote como Jehová mandó á Moisés.

And Moses doth -- Eleazar the priest also -- as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

32 Y fué la presa, el resto de la presa que tomaron los hombres de guerra, seiscientas y setenta y cinco mil ovejas,

And the prey, the residue of the spoil which the people of the host have spoiled, is of the flock six hundred thousand, and seventy thousand, and five thousand;

33 Y setenta y dos mil bueyes,

and of the herd two and seventy thousand;

34 Y setenta y un mil asnos;

and of asses one and sixty thousand;

35 Y en cuanto á personas, de mujeres que no habían conocido ayuntamiento de varón, en todas trenita y dos mil.

and of human beings -- of the women who have not known the lying of a male -- all the persons two and thirty thousand.

36 Y la mitad, la parte de los que habían salido á la guerra, fué el número de trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas ovejas.

And the half -- the portion of those who go out into the host -- the number of the flock is three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, and seven thousand and five hundred.

37 Y el tributo para Jehová de la ovejas, fué seiscientas setenta y cinco.

And the tribute to Jehovah of the sheep is six hundred five and seventy;

38 Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y dos.

and the herd six and thirty thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and seventy;

39 Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y uno.

and the asses thirty thousand and five hundred, and their tribute to Jehovah one and sixty;

40 Y de las personas, diez y seis mil: y de ellas el tributo para Jehová, trteinta y dos personas.

and the human beings sixteen thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and thirty persons.

41 Y dió Moisés el tributo, por elevada ofrenda á Jehová, á Eleazar el sacerdote, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés.

And Moses giveth the tribute -- Jehovah's heave-offering -- to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

42 Y de la mitad para los hijos de Israel, que apartó Moisés de los hombres que habían ido á la guerra;

And of the sons of Israel's half, which Moses halved from the men who war --

43 ( La mitad para la congregación fué: de las ovejas, trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas;

and the company's half is, of the flock three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred;

44 Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil;

and of the herd six and thirty thousand;

45 Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos;

and of asses thirty thousand and five hundred;

46 Y de las personas, diez y seis mil:)

and of human beings sixteen thousand --

47 D e la mitad, pues, para los hijos de Israel tomó Moisés uno de cada cincuenta, así de las personas como de los animales, y diólos á los Levitas, que tenían la guarda del tabernáculo de Jehová; como Jehová lo había mandado á Moisés.

Moses taketh from the sons of Israel's half the one possession from the fifty, of man and of beast, and giveth them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

48 Y llegaron á Moisés los jefes de los millares de aquel ejército, los tribunos y centuriones;

And the inspectors whom the thousands of the host hath, (heads of the thousands and heads of the hundreds), draw near unto Moses,

49 Y dijeron á Moisés: Tus siervos han tomado razón de los hombres de guerra que están en nuestro poder, y ninguno ha faltado de nosotros.

and they say unto Moses, `Thy servants have taken up the sum of the men of war who with us, and not a man of us hath been missed;

50 P or lo cual hemos ofrecido á Jehová ofrenda, cada uno de lo que ha hallado, vasos de oro, brazaletes, manillas, anillos, zarcillos, y cadenas, para hacer expiación por nuestras almas delante de Jehová.

and we bring near Jehovah's offering, each that which he hath found, vessels of gold -- chain, and bracelet, seal-ring, -ring, and bead -- to make atonement for ourselves before Jehovah.'

51 Y Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar recibieron el oro de ellos, alhajas, todas elaboradas.

And Moses receiveth -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from them, every made vessel,

52 Y todo el oro de la ofrenda que ofrecieron á Jehová de los tribunos y centuriones, fué diez y seis mil setecientos y cincuenta siclos.

and all the gold of the heave-offering which they have lifted up to Jehovah is sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from heads of the thousands, and from heads of the hundreds;

53 L os hombres del ejército habían pillado cada uno para sí.

(the men of the host have spoiled each for himself);

54 R ecibieron, pues, Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar, el oro de los tribunos y centuriones, y trajéronlo al tabernáculo del testimonio, por memoria de los hijos de Israel delante de Jehová.

and Moses taketh -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from the heads of the thousands and of the hundreds, and they bring it in unto the tent of meeting -- a memorial for the sons of Israel before Jehovah.
