1 O ración del pobre, cuando estuviere angustiado, y delante de Jehová derramare su lamento. JEHOVA, oye mi oración, Y venga mi clamor á ti.

A Prayer of the afflicted when he is feeble, and before Jehovah poureth out his plaint. O Jehovah, hear my prayer, yea, my cry to Thee cometh.

2 N o escondas de mí tu rostro: en el día de mi angustia Inclina á mí tu oído; El día que te invocare, apresúrate á responderme.

Hide not Thou Thy face from me, In a day of mine adversity, Incline unto me Thine ear, In the day I call, haste, answer me.

3 P orque mis días se han consumido como humo; Y mis huesos cual tizón están quemados.

For consumed in smoke have been my days, And my bones as a fire-brand have burned.

4 M i corazón fué herido, y secóse como la hierba; Por lo cual me olvidé de comer mi pan.

Smitten as the herb, and withered, is my heart, For I have forgotten to eat my bread.

5 P or la voz de mi gemido Mis huesos se han pegado á mi carne.

From the voice of my sighing Hath my bone cleaved to my flesh.

6 S oy semejante al pelícano del desierto; Soy como el buho de las soledades.

I have been like to a pelican of the wilderness, I have been as an owl of the dry places.

7 V elo, y soy Como el pájaro solitario sobre el tejado.

I have watched, and I am As a bird alone on the roof.

8 C ada día me afrentan mis enemigos; Los que se enfurecen contra mí, hanse contra mí conjurado.

All the day mine enemies reproached me, Those mad at me have sworn against me.

9 P or lo que como la ceniza á manera de pan, Y mi bebida mezclo con lloro,

Because ashes as bread I have eaten, And my drink with weeping have mingled,

10 A causa de tu enojo y de tu ira; Pues me alzaste, y me has arrojado.

From Thine indignation and Thy wrath, For Thou hast lifted me up, And dost cast me down.

11 M is días son como la sombra que se va; Y heme secado como la hierba.

My days as a shadow stretched out, And I -- as the herb I am withered.

12 M as tú, Jehová, permanecerás para siempre, Y tu memoria para generación y generación.

And Thou, O Jehovah, to the age abidest, And Thy memorial to all generations.

13 T ú levantándote, tendrás misericordia de Sión; Porque el tiempo de tener misericordia de ella, porque el plazo es llegado.

Thou -- Thou risest -- Thou pitiest Zion, For the time to favour her, For the appointed time hath come.

14 P orque tus siervos aman sus piedras, Y del polvo de ella tienen compasión.

For Thy servants have been pleased with her stones, And her dust they favour.

15 E ntonces temerán las gentes el nombre de Jehová, Y todos los reyes de la tierra tu gloria;

And nations fear the name of Jehovah, And all kings of the earth Thine honour,

16 P or cuanto Jehová habrá edificado á Sión, Y en su gloria será visto;

For Jehovah hath builded Zion, He hath been seen in His honour,

17 H abrá mirado á la oración de los solitarios, Y no habrá desechado el ruego de ellos.

He turned unto the prayer of the destitute, And He hath not despised their prayer.

18 E scribirse ha esto para la generación venidera: Y el pueblo que se criará, alabará á JAH.

This is written for a later generation, And the people created do praise Jah.

19 P orque miró de lo alto de su santuario; Jehová miró de los cielos á la tierra,

For He hath looked From the high place of His sanctuary. Jehovah from heaven unto earth looked attentively,

20 P ara oir el gemido de los presos, Para soltar á los sentenciados á muerte;

To hear the groan of the prisoner, To loose sons of death,

21 P orque cuenten en Sión el nombre de Jehová, Y su alabanza en Jerusalem,

To declare in Zion the name of Jehovah, And His praise in Jerusalem,

22 C uando los pueblos se congregaren en uno, Y los reinos, para servir á Jehová.

In the peoples being gathered together, And the kingdoms -- to serve Jehovah.

23 E l afligió mi fuerza en el camino; Acortó mis días.

He hath humbled in the way my power, He hath shortened my days.

24 D ije: Dios mío, no me cortes en el medio de mis días: Por generación de generaciones son tus años.

I say, `My God, take me not up in the midst of my days,' Through all generations Thine years.

25 T ú fundaste la tierra antiguamente, Y los cielos son obra de tus manos.

Beforetime the earth Thou didst found, And the work of Thy hands the heavens.

26 E llos perecerán, y tú permanecerás; Y todos ellos como un vestido se envejecerán; Como una ropa de vestir los mudarás, y serán mudados:

They -- They perish, and Thou remainest, And all of them as a garment become old, As clothing Thou changest them, And they are changed.

27 M as tú eres el mismo, Y tus años no se acabarán.

And Thou the same, and Thine years are not finished.

28 L os hijos de tus siervos habitarán, Y su simiente será afirmada delante de ti.

The sons of Thy servants do continue, And their seed before Thee is established!
