1 Y ACONTECIO después de la muerte de Moisés siervo de Jehová, que Jehová habló á Josué hijo de Nun, ministro de Moisés, diciendo:

And it cometh to pass after the death of Moses, servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah speaketh unto Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, saying,

2 M i siervo Moisés es muerto: levántate pues ahora, y pasa este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, á la tierra que yo les doy á los hijos de Israel.

`Moses my servant is dead, and now, rise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.

3 Y o os he entregado, como lo había dicho á Moisés, todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie.

`Every place on which the sole of your foot treadeth, to you I have given it, as I have spoken unto Moses.

4 D esde el desierto y este Líbano hasta el gran río Eufrates, toda la tierra de los Hetheos hasta la gran mar del poniente del sol, será vuestro término.

From this wilderness and Lebanon, and unto the great river, the river Phrath, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great Sea -- the going in of the sun -- is your border.

5 N adie te podrá hacer frente en todos los días de tu vida: como yo fuí con Moisés, seré contigo; no te dejaré, ni te desampararé.

`No man doth station himself before thee all days of thy life; as I have been with Moses, I am with thee, I do not fail thee, nor forsake thee;

6 E sfuérzate y sé valiente: porque tú repartirás á este pueblo por heredad la tierra, de la cual juré á sus padres que la daría á ellos.

be strong and courageous, for thou -- thou dost cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.

7 S olamente te esfuerces, y seas muy valiente, para cuidar de hacer conforme á toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés te mandó: no te apartes de ella ni á diestra ni á siniestra, para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendieres.

`Only, be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded thee; thou dost not turn aside from it right or left, so that thou dost act wisely in every whither thou goest;

8 E l libro de aquesta ley nunca se apartará de tu boca: antes de día y de noche meditarás en él, para que guardes y hagas conforme á todo lo que en él está escrito: porque entonces harás prosperar tu camino, y todo te saldrá bien.

the book of this law doth not depart out of thy mouth, and thou hast meditated in it by day and by night, so that thou dost observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou dost cause thy way to prosper, and then thou dost act wisely.

9 M ira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente: no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios será contigo en donde quiera que fueres.

`Have not I commanded thee? be strong and courageous; be not terrified nor affrighted, for with thee Jehovah thy God in every whither thou goest.'

10 Y Josué mandó á los oficiales del pueblo, diciendo:

And Joshua commandeth the authorities of the people, saying,

11 P asad por medio del campo, y mandad al pueblo, diciendo: Preveníos de comida; porque dentro de tres días pasaréis el Jordán, para que entréis á poseer la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios os da para que la poseáis.

`Pass over into the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare for yourselves provision, for within three days ye are passing over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you to possess it.'

12 T ambién habló Josué á los Rubenitas y Gaditas, y á la media tribu de Manasés, diciendo:

And to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh, hath Joshua spoken, saying,

13 A cordaos de la palabra que Moisés, siervo de Jehová, os mandó diciendo: Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado reposo, y os ha dado esta tierra.

`Remember the word which Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God is giving rest to you, and He hath given to you this land;

14 V uestras mujeres y vuestros niños y vuestras bestias, quedarán en la tierra que Moisés os ha dado de esta parte del Jordán; mas vosotros, todos los valientes y fuertes, pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos, y les ayudaréis;

your wives, your infants, and your substance, abide in the land which Moses hath given to you beyond the Jordan, and ye -- ye pass over by fifties, before your brethren, all the mighty ones of valour, and have helped them,

15 H asta tanto que Jehová haya dado reposo á vuestros hermanos como á vosotros, y que ellos también posean la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios les da: y después volveréis vosotros á la tierra de vuestra herencia, la cual Moisés siervo de Jehová os ha dado, de esta parte del Jordán hacia donde nace el sol; y la poseeréis.

till that Jehovah giveth rest to your brethren as to yourselves, and they have possessed, even they, the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them; then ye have turned back to the land of your possession, and have possessed it, which Moses, servant of Jehovah, hath given to you beyond the Jordan, the sun-rising.'

16 E ntonces respondieron á Josué, diciendo: Nosotros haremos todas las cosas que nos has mandado, é iremos adonde quiera que nos mandares.

And they answer Joshua, saying, `All that thou hast commanded us we do; and unto every whither thou dost send us, we go;

17 D e la manera que obedecimos á Moisés en todas las cosas, así te obedeceremos á ti: solamente Jehová tu Dios sea contigo, como fué con Moisés.

according to all that we hearkened unto Moses, so we hearken unto thee; surely Jehovah thy God is with thee as He hath been with Moses.

18 C ualquiera que fuere rebelde á tu mandamiento, y no obedeciere á tus palabras en todas las cosas que le mandares, que muera; solamente que te esfuerces, y seas valiente.

Any man who doth provoke thy mouth, and doth not hear thy words, in all that thou dost command him, is put to death; only, be strong and courageous.'
