1 A i da cidade rebelde, impura e opressora!

Wo the rebellious and polluted, The oppressing city!

2 N ão ouve a ninguém, e não aceita correção. Não confia no Senhor, não se aproxima do seu Deus.

She hath not hearkened to the voice, She hath not accepted instruction, In Jehovah she hath not trusted, Unto her God she hath not drawn near.

3 N o meio dela os seus líderes são leões que rugem. Seus juízes são lobos vespertinos que nada deixam para a manhã seguinte.

Her heads in her midst roaring lions, Her judges evening wolves, They have not gnawn the bone in the morning.

4 S eus profetas são irresponsáveis, são homens traiçoeiros. Seus sacerdotes profanam o santuário e fazem violência à lei.

Her prophets unstable -- men of treachery, Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, They have violated the law.

5 N o meio dela está o Senhor, que é justo e jamais comete injustiça. A cada manhã ele ministra a sua justiça, e a cada novo dia ele não falha, mas o injusto não se envergonha da sua injustiça.

Jehovah righteous in her midst, He doth not do perverseness, Morning by morning His judgment he giveth to the light, It hath not been lacking, And the perverse doth not know shame.

6 “ Eliminei nações; suas fortificações estão devastadas. Deixei desertas as suas ruas. Suas cidades estão destruídas; ninguém foi deixado; ninguém!

I have cut off nations, Desolated have been their chief ones, I have laid waste their out-places without any passing by, Destroyed have been their cities, Without man, without inhabitant.

7 E u disse à cidade: Com certeza você me temerá e aceitará correção! Pois, então, a sua habitação não seria eliminada, nem cairiam sobre ela todos os meus castigos. Mas eles ainda estavam ávidos por fazer todo tipo de maldade.

I have said: Only, ye do fear Me, Ye do accept instruction, And her habitation is not cut off, All that I have appointed for her, But they have risen early, They have corrupted all their doings.

8 P or isso, esperem por mim”, declara o Senhor, “no dia em que eu me levantar para testemunhar. Decidi ajuntar as nações, reunir os reinos e derramar a minha ira sobre eles, toda a minha impetuosa indignação. O mundo inteiro será consumido pelo fogo da minha zelosa ira.

Therefore, wait for Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah, For the day of My rising for prey, For My judgment to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them Mine indignation, All the heat of Mine anger, For by the fire of My jealousy consumed is all the earth.

9 “ Então purificarei os lábios dos povos, para que todos eles invoquem o nome do Senhor e o sirvam de comum acordo.

For then do I turn unto peoples a pure lip, To call all of them by the name of Jehovah, To serve Him one shoulder.

10 D esde além dos rios da Etiópia os meus adoradores, o meu povo disperso, me trarão ofertas.

From beyond the rivers of Cush, my supplicants, The daughter of My scattered ones, Do bring My present.

11 N aquele dia vocês não serão envergonhados pelos seus atos de rebelião, porque retirarei desta cidade os que se regozijam em seu orgulho. Nunca mais vocês serão altivos no meu santo monte.

In that day thou art not ashamed because of any of thine actions, Wherewith thou hast transgressed against Me, For then do I turn aside from thy midst The exulting ones of thine excellency, And thou dost add no more to be haughty, In My holy mountain.

12 M as deixarei no meio da cidade os mansos e humildes, que se refugiarão no nome do Senhor.

And I have left in thy midst a people humble and poor, And they have trusted in the name of Jehovah.

13 O remanescente de Israel não cometerá injustiças; eles não mentirão, nem se achará engano em suas bocas. Eles se alimentarão e descansarão, sem que ninguém os amedronte.”

The remnant of Israel do no perversity, nor speak lies, Nor found in their mouth is a deceitful tongue, For they have delight, and have lain down, And there is none troubling.

14 C ante, ó cidade de Sião; exulte, ó Israel! Alegre-se, regozije-se de todo o coração, ó cidade de Jerusalém!

Cry aloud, O daughter of Zion, shout, O Israel, Rejoice and exult with the whole heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15 O Senhor anulou a sentença contra você, ele fez retroceder os seus inimigos. O Senhor, o Rei de Israel, está em seu meio; nunca mais você temerá perigo algum.

Jehovah hath turned aside thy judgments, He hath faced thine enemy, The king of Israel, Jehovah, in thy midst, Thou seest evil no more.

16 N aquele dia se dirá a Jerusalém: “Não tema, ó Sião; não deixe suas mãos enfraquecerem.

In that day it is said to Jerusalem, `Fear not, O Zion, let not thy hands be feeble.

17 O Senhor, o seu Deus, está em seu meio, poderoso para salvar. Ele se regozijará em você; com o seu amor a renovará, ele se regozijará em você com brados de alegria”.

Jehovah thy God in thy midst, A mighty one doth save, He rejoiceth over thee with joy, He doth work in His love, He joyeth over thee with singing.'

18 “ Eu ajuntarei os que choram pelas festas fixas, os que se afastaram de vocês, para que isso não mais lhes pese como vergonha.

Mine afflicted from the appointed place I have gathered, from thee they have been, Bearing for her sake reproach.

19 N essa época agirei contra todos os que oprimiram vocês; salvarei os aleijados e ajuntarei os dispersos. Darei a eles louvor e honra em todas as terras onde foram envergonhados.

Lo, I am dealing with all afflicting thee at that time, And I have saved the halting one, And the driven out ones I do gather, And have set them for a praise and for a name, In all the land of their shame.

20 N aquele tempo eu ajuntarei vocês; naquele tempo os trarei para casa. Eu lhes darei honra e louvor entre todos os povos da terra, quando eu restaurar a sua sorte diante dos seus próprios olhos”, diz o Senhor.

At that time I bring you in, Even at the time of My assembling you, For I give you for a name, and for a praise, Among all peoples of the land, In My turning back your captivity before your eyes, said Jehovah!
