1 E sta palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

2 “ Filho do homem, vire o rosto contra Jerusalém e pregue contra o santuário. Profetize contra Israel,

`Son of man, set thy face unto Jerusalem, and prophesy unto the holy places, and prophesy unto the ground of Israel;

3 d izendo-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor: Estou contra você. Empunharei a minha espada para eliminar tanto o justo quanto o ímpio.

and thou hast said unto the ground of Israel: Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I against thee, And have brought out My sword from its scabbard, And have cut off from thee righteous and wicked.

4 U ma vez que eu vou eliminar o justo e o ímpio, estarei empunhando a minha espada contra todos, desde o Neguebe até o norte.

Because that I have cut off from thee righteous and wicked, Therefore go out doth My sword from its scabbard, Unto all flesh, from south to north.

5 E ntão todos saberão que eu, o Senhor, tirei a espada da bainha e não tornarei a guardá-la.

And known have all flesh that I, Jehovah, Have brought out My sword from its scabbard, It doth not turn back any more.

6 “ Portanto, comece a gemer, filho do homem! Comece a gemer diante deles com o coração partido e com amarga tristeza.

And thou, son of man, sigh with breaking of loins, yea, with bitterness thou dost sigh before their eyes,

7 E , quando lhe perguntarem: ‘Por que você está gemendo?’, você dirá: Por causa das notícias que estão vindo. Todo coração se derreterá, e toda mão penderá frouxa; todo espírito desmaiará, e todo joelho se tornará como água, de tão fraco. E vem chegando! Sem nenhuma dúvida vai acontecer. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor ”.

and it hath come to pass, when they say unto thee, For what art thou sighing? that thou hast said: Because of the report, for it is coming, And melted hath every heart, And feeble hath been all hands, And weak is every spirit, And all knees go -- waters, Lo, it is coming, yea, it hath been, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

8 E sta palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

9 “ Filho do homem, profetize e diga: Assim diz o Senhor: “Uma espada, uma espada, afiada e polida;

`Son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said, Thus said Jehovah, say: A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also polished.

10 a fiada para a mortandade, polida para luzir como relâmpago! “Acaso vamos regozijar-nos com o cetro do meu filho Judá? A espada despreza toda e qualquer vareta como essa.

So as to slaughter a slaughter it is sharpened. So as to have brightness it is polished, Desire hath rejoiced the sceptre of my son, It is despising every tree.

11 “ A espada foi destinada a ser polida, a ser pega com as mãos; está afiada e polida, preparada para que a maneje a mão do matador.

And he giveth it for polishing, For laying hold of by the hand. It is sharpened -- the sword -- and polished, To give it into the hand of a slayer.

12 C lame e grite, filho do homem, pois ela está contra o meu povo; está contra todos os príncipes de Israel. Eles e o meu povo são atirados contra a espada. Lamente-se, pois; bata no peito.

Cry and howl, son of man, For it hath been among My people, It among all the princes of Israel, Cast unto the sword have been My people. Therefore strike on thy thigh,

13 “ É certo que a prova virá. E que acontecerá, se o cetro de Judá, que a espada despreza, não continuar a existir? Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

Because a trier, And what if even the sceptre it is despising? It shall not be, an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

14 “ Por isso profetize, então, filho do homem, e bata as mãos uma na outra. Que a espada golpeie não duas, mas três vezes. É uma espada para matança, para grande matança, avançando sobre eles de todos os lados.

And thou, son of man, prophesy, And smite hand on hand, And bent is the sword a third time, The sword of the wounded! It the sword of the wounded -- the great one, That is entering the inner chamber to them.

15 A ssim, para que os corações se derretam e muitos sejam os caídos, coloquei a espada para a matança junto a todas as suas portas. Ah! Ela foi feita para luzir como relâmpago; é empunhada firmemente para a matança.

To melt the heart, and to multiply the ruins, By all their gates I have set the point of a sword. Ah, it is made for brightness, Wrapt up for slaughter.

16 Ó espada, golpeie para todos os lados, para onde quer que se vire a sua lâmina.

Take possession of the right, place thyself at the left, Whither thy face is appointed.

17 E u também baterei minhas mãos uma na outra, e a minha ira diminuirá. Eu, o Senhor, falei”.

And I also, I smite My hand on my hand, And have caused My fury to rest; I, Jehovah, have spoken.'

18 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

19 “ Filho do homem, trace as duas estradas que a espada do rei da Babilônia deve seguir, as duas partindo da mesma terra. Em cada uma delas coloque um marco indicando o rumo de uma cidade.

`And thou, son of man, appoint for thee two ways, for the coming in of the sword of the king of Babylon; from one land they come forth, both of them, and a station prepare thou, at the top of the way of the city prepare.

20 T race uma estrada que leve a espada contra Rabá dos amonitas, e a outra contra Judá e contra a Jerusalém fortificada.

A way appoint for the coming of the sword, Unto Rabbath of the sons of Ammon, And to Judah, in Jerusalem -- the fenced.

21 P ois o rei da Babilônia parará no local de onde partem as duas estradas para sortear a escolha. Ele lançará a sorte com flechas, consultará os ídolos da família, examinará o fígado.

For stood hath the king of Babylon at the head of the way, At the top of the two ways, to use divination, He hath moved lightly with the arrows, He hath asked at the teraphim, He hath looked on the liver.

22 P ela sua mão direita será sorteada Jerusalém, onde deverá preparar aríetes, dar ordens para a matança, soar o grito de guerra, montar aríetes contra as portas, construir uma rampa e levantar obras de cerco.

At his right hath been the divination -- Jerusalem, To place battering-rams, To open the mouth with slaughter, To lift up a voice with shouting, To place battering-rams against the gates, To pour out a mount, to build a fortification.

23 I sso parecerá um falso presságio aos judeus, que tinham feito uma aliança com juramento, mas o rei invasor os fará recordar sua culpa e os levará prisioneiros.

And it hath been to them as a false divination in their eyes, Who have sworn oaths to them, And he is causing iniquity to be remembered to be caught.

24 “ Portanto, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Visto que vocês trouxeram à lembrança a sua iniqüidade mediante rebelião ostensiva, revelando seus pecados em tudo o que fazem; por isso vão ser levados prisioneiros.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your causing your iniquity to be remembered, In your transgressions being revealed, For your sins being seen, in all your doings, Because of your being remembered, By the hand ye are caught.

25 “ Ó ímpio e profano príncipe de Israel, o seu dia chegou, esta é a hora do seu castigo,

And thou, wounded, wicked one, Prince of Israel, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end!

26 e assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Tire o turbante e a coroa. Não será como antes — os humildes serão exaltados, e os exaltados serão humilhados.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Turn aside the mitre, and bear away the crown, This -- not this -- the low make high, And the high make low.

27 U ma desgraça! Uma desgraça! Eu farei dela uma desgraça! Não será restaurada, enquanto não vier aquele a quem ela pertence por direito; a ele eu a darei.

An overturn, overturn, overturn, I make it, Also this hath not been till the coming of Him, Whose the judgment, and I have given it.

28 “ E você, filho do homem, profetize e diga: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor, acerca dos amonitas e dos seus insultos: “Uma espada, uma espada, empunhada para matança, polida para consumir e para luzir como relâmpago!

And thou, son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah concerning the sons of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: and thou hast said: A sword, a sword, open for slaughter, Polished to the utmost for brightness!

29 A despeito das visões falsas e das adivinhações mentirosas sobre vocês, ela será posta no pescoço dos ímpios que devem ser mortos e cujo dia chegou, cujo momento de castigo é agora.

In the seeing for thee of a vain thing, In the divining for thee of a lie, To put thee on the necks of the wounded of the wicked, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end.

30 V olte a espada à sua bainha. No lugar onde vocês foram criados, na terra dos seus antepassados, eu os julgarei.

Turn back unto its scabbard, In the place where thou wast produced, In the land of thy birth I do judge thee.

31 D erramarei a minha ira sobre vocês, soprarei a minha ira impetuosa contra vocês; eu os entregarei nas mãos de homens brutais, acostumados à destruição.

And I have poured on thee Mine indignation, With fire of My wrath I blow against thee, And have given thee into the hand of brutish men -- artificers of destruction.

32 V ocês serão combustível para o fogo, seu sangue será derramado em sua terra e vocês não serão mais lembrados; porque eu, o Senhor, falei”.

To the fire thou art for fuel, Thy blood is in the midst of the land, Thou art not remembered, For I, Jehovah, have spoken!'
