1 D epois disso Davi derrotou os filisteus e os subjugou, e tirou do controle deles a cidade de Gate e seus povoados.

And it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

2 D avi derrotou também os moabitas, que ficaram sujeitos a ele, pagando-lhe impostos.

and he smiteth Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.

3 A lém disso, Davi derrotou Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, nas proximidades de Hamate, quando Hadadezer tentava obter o controle na região do rio Eufrates.

And David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

4 D avi se apossou de mil dos seus carros de guerra, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados de infantaria. Ainda levou cem cavalos de carros de guerra e aleijou todos os outros.

and David captureth from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly all the chariots, and leaveth of them a hundred chariots.

5 Q uando os arameus de Damasco vieram ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou vinte e dois mil deles.

And Aram of Damascus cometh in to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth in Aram twenty and two thousand men,

6 E m seguida estabeleceu guarnições militares no reino dos arameus de Damasco, sujeitando-os a lhe pagarem impostos. E o Senhor dava vitórias a Davi em todos os lugares aonde ia.

and David putteth in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.

7 D avi também trouxe para Jerusalém os escudos de ouro usados pelos oficiais de Hadadezer.

And David taketh the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and bringeth them in to Jerusalem;

8 D e Tebá e Cum, cidades que pertenciam a Hadadezer, o rei Davi trouxe grande quantidade de bronze, que Salomão usou para fazer o tanque de bronze, as colunas e vários utensílios.

and from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, hath David taken very much brass; with it hath Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9 Q uando Toú, rei de Hamate, soube que Davi tinha derrotado todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá,

And Tou king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

10 e nviou seu filho Adorão ao rei Davi para saudá-lo e parabenizá-lo por sua vitória na batalha contra Hadadezer, que tinha estado em guerra contra Toú. Com Adorão, mandou todo tipo de utensílios de ouro, de prata e de bronze.

and he sendeth Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him (because that he hath fought against Hadarezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars with Tou had Hadarezer been,) and all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and brass;

11 O rei Davi consagrou esses utensílios ao Senhor, como fizera com a prata e o ouro tomados de todas estas nações: Edom e Moabe, os amonitas e os filisteus, e Amaleque.

also them hath king David sanctified to Jehovah with the silver and the gold that he hath taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12 A bisai, filho de Zeruia, derrotou dezoito mil edomitas no vale do Sal.

And Abishai son of Zeruiah hath smitten Edom in the valley of salt -- eighteen thousand,

13 D epois colocou guarnições militares em Edom, sujeitando todos os edomitas a Davi. O Senhor dava vitórias a Davi em todos os lugares aonde ia. Os Oficiais de Davi

and he putteth in Edom garrisons, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

14 D avi reinou sobre todo o Israel, administrando o direito e a justiça a todo o seu povo.

And David reigneth over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

15 J oabe, filho de Zeruia, era comandante do exército; Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o arquivista real;

and Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

16 Z adoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Sausa era secretário;

and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Shavsha scribe,

17 B enaia, filho de Joiada, comandava os queretitas e os peletitas; e os filhos do rei Davi eram seus principais oficiais.

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the elder sons of David at the hand of the king.
