1 “ Se aparecer entre vocês um profeta ou alguém que faz predições por meio de sonhos e lhes anunciar um sinal miraculoso ou um prodígio,

`When there ariseth in your midst a prophet, or a dreamer of a dream, and he hath given unto thee a sign or wonder,

2 e se o sinal ou prodígio de que ele falou acontecer, e ele disser: ‘Vamos seguir outros deuses que vocês não conhecem e vamos adorá-los’,

and the sign and the wonder hath come which he hath spoken of unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods (which thou hast not known), and serve them,

3 n ão dêem ouvidos às palavras daquele profeta ou sonhador. O Senhor, o seu Deus, está pondo vocês à prova para ver se o amam de todo o coração e de toda a alma.

thou dost not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of the dream, for Jehovah your God is trying you, to know whether ye are loving Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul;

4 S igam somente o Senhor, o seu Deus, e temam a ele somente. Cumpram os seus mandamentos e obedeçam-lhe; sirvam-no e apeguem-se a ele.

after Jehovah your God ye walk, and Him ye fear, and His commands ye keep, and to His voice ye hearken, and Him ye serve, and to Him ye cleave.

5 A quele profeta ou sonhador terá que ser morto, pois pregou rebelião contra o Senhor, o seu Deus, que os tirou do Egito e os redimiu da terra da escravidão; ele tentou afastá-los do caminho que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes ordenou que seguissem. Eliminem o mal do meio de vocês.

`And that prophet, or that dreamer of the dream, is put to death, for he hath spoken apostacy against Jehovah your God (who is bringing you out of the land of Egypt, and hath ransomed you out of a house of servants), to drive you out of the way in which Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee to walk, and thou hast put away the evil thing from thy midst.

6 “ Se o seu próprio irmão ou filho ou filha, ou a mulher que você ama ou o seu amigo mais chegado secretamente instigá-lo, dizendo: ‘Vamos adorar outros deuses!’ — deuses que nem você nem os seus antepassados conheceram,

`When thy brother -- son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend who as thine own soul -- doth move thee, in secret, saying, Let us go and serve other gods -- (which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers,

7 d euses dos povos que vivem ao seu redor, quer próximos, quer distantes, de um ao outro lado da terra —

of the gods of the peoples who round about you, who are near unto thee, or who are far off from thee, from the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth) --

8 n ão se deixe convencer nem ouça o que ele diz. Não tenha piedade nem compaixão dele e não o proteja.

thou dost not consent to him, nor hearken unto him, nor doth thine eye have pity on him, nor dost thou spare, nor dost thou cover him over.

9 V ocê terá que matá-lo. Seja a sua mão a primeira a levantar-se para matá-lo, e depois as mãos de todo o povo.

`But thou dost surely kill him; thy hand is on him, in the first place, to put him to death, and the hand of all the people last;

10 A pedreje-o até a morte, porque tentou desviá-lo do Senhor, o seu Deus, que o tirou do Egito, da terra da escravidão.

and thou hast stoned him with stones, and he hath died, for he hath sought to drive thee away from Jehovah thy God, who is bringing thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants;

11 E ntão todo o Israel saberá disso; todos temerão e ninguém tornará a cometer uma maldade dessas.

and all Israel do hear and fear, and add not to do like this evil thing in thy midst.

12 “ Se vocês ouvirem dizer que numa das cidades que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes dá para nelas morarem,

`When thou hearest, in one of thy cities which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee to dwell there, saying,

13 s urgiram homens perversos e desviaram os seus habitantes, dizendo: ‘Vamos adorar outros deuses!’, deuses que vocês não conhecem,

Men, sons of worthlessness, have gone out of thy midst, and they force away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known --

14 v ocês deverão verificar e investigar. Se for verdade e ficar comprovado que se praticou esse ato detestável entre vocês,

and thou hast enquired, and searched, and asked diligently, and lo, truth; the thing is established; this abomination hath been done in thy midst:

15 m atem ao fio da espada todos os que viverem naquela cidade. Destruam totalmente a cidade, matando tanto os seus habitantes quanto os seus animais.

`Thou dost surely smite the inhabitants of that city by the mouth of the sword; devoting it, and all that in it, even its cattle, by the mouth of the sword;

16 A juntem todos os despojos no meio da praça pública e queimem totalmente a cidade e todos os seus despojos, como oferta ao Senhor, o seu Deus. Fique ela em ruínas para sempre, e nunca mais seja reconstruída.

and all its spoil thou dost gather unto the midst of its broad place, and hast burned with fire the city and all its spoil completely, before Jehovah thy God, and it hath been a heap age-during, it is not built any more;

17 N ão seja encontrado em suas mãos nada do que foi destinado à destruição, para que o Senhor se afaste do fogo da sua ira. Ele terá misericórdia e compaixão de vocês, e os fará multiplicar-se, conforme prometeu sob juramento aos seus antepassados,

and there doth not cleave to thy hand any of the devoted thing, so that Jehovah doth turn back from the fierceness of His anger, and hath given to thee mercies, and loved thee, and multiplied thee, as He hath sworn to thy fathers,

18 s omente se obedecerem ao Senhor, o seu Deus, guardando todos os seus mandamentos, que lhes estou dando, e fazendo o que é justo para ele.

when thou dost hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commands which I am commanding thee to-day, to do that which right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
